We learned what a "sunday house" is. The location is wonderful. There are a lot of things within walking distance.

I have stayed at many different Gastehaus properties and they never disappoint and Metzger House was no different!

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
I didn’t appreciate the fact that the management company called the sheriff’s department upon my arrival to the property to verify that indeed it was only 2 people that were staying as that’s how I booked it. Did they think I was brining 20 more people with me? Never again!

Great stay in historic home!
We enjoyed our stay in the Metzger Sunday House. Tiny, cozy and private. Perfect for our anniversary celebration. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and we loved swinging on the porch swing!
The Metzger Sunday House was a great place for our 13th wedding anniversary. Very close to Main Street and all that downtown has to offer. Quick trip to all the wineries. Great base to venture out from
It was a real treat to be able to stay in an authentic Sunday House! It was a true bridge to the past. We walked to Church just as the owners would have done. We enjoyed coffee every morning and a nightcap every evening on the front porch swing. The house was large enough to be comfortable; small enough to be quaint. The front room and eat in kitchen gave us plenty of space to relax. The furnishings, old time closets, and overall simplicity provided us a way to experience the past with modern day comforts of hot showers, air conditioning and kitchen amenities. Just as described, it was quiet, one block from Main Street, with private off-street parking. We look forward to returning!
We loved the property. The bed was super comfortable so they must have replaced it after some of the negative reviews. The only downside is the toilet is super slow to refill and runs most of the night.
It was exactly what we needed for a place to stay in Fredericksburg.
Great property. Walking distance to downtown but would be challenging if you have mobility issues. Driveway is very steep if your in a spots car or on a cycle. We enjoyed the stay and would stay at this property again.

We totally enjoyed our stay in Metzger House. Very charming...plenty of room. It's nice to have a full kitchen and the addition of a small Christmas tree was lovely. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Making my reservation over the phone was great!
Our stay was very enjoyable, peaceful, and comfortable. Our only complaint was on us…..
we couldn't stay longer, but we'll be back.
Thank you!

Wonderful location
We loved our stay at the Metzger Sunday House. The location was wonderful because we were walking distance to a number of Main St. hot spots. We really enjoyed sitting on the front porch. One evening we watched 2 fox and a deer walk down the street. Two nights in a row we saw lightning bugs - haven't seen those in years. It is a lovely little house that we were very comfortable in and look forward to visiting again.
Cute house, conveniently located. We liked everything about the house except for the bed. Neither one of us slept well and both woke up with low back and neck pain after sleeping in that bed.

Nice little house for a 2 night stay.
Enjoyed staying in the Metzger House. Great location, walked to all most everything. Price was great as well. They had a brand new mattress delivered the morning we got there. Always nice to sleep on a new mattress. TV is very small. Not a deal breaker but it would be a nice upgrade.
The location was perfect for walking to shop & eat on Main St. Reading the history on the house was very interesting. It is an older house, but the only issue we had was the toilet not properly flushing, so running. Noticed furniture could use a good dusting. Coffee pot not working right, it took 25 mins to brew 4 cups. Just minor issues. Overall we had a lovely stay.

Loved It!
The house was very nice and quaint. You folks always do a good job having the house ready and you did not disappoint. Great location, nice wide street, and far enough off the main street that it was quiet.
One quick note: let the cleaning crew know NOT to use pledge on the kitchen table. Old English will take the sticky film off that is on there now. :)
