Monica, Thank you for making our family getaway a little special. Very relaxing environment with spotless facilities. Accommodation is well maintained. The surrounding gardens & pool were relaxing allowing all of us to decompress from the hectic city life. This location is very family friendly and a great location to explore the rest of Magnetic Island.

Fantastic Stay

Although it rained the entire time, our accommodation provided plenty of room for teenagers and adults. We loved the rainforest garden and hidden pool (although too cold to swim in). Thank you

Nicholas and his 2 support workers had an amazing time and said the place was absolutaly beautiful and will definatly stay there again.I will definatly be spreading the word to the other parents and the ladies will be telling the other support workers how incredible and relaxing their stay was.Thankyou so much for having us.

Perfect retreat

The self contained unit was well present and very clean. Set with all the necessities to make our stay easy and relaxing. Communication with manager Monica was clear and direct. She was knowledgeable about the island and happy to share. The accommodation is on a bus route and close to the local shops. The pool was a particular treat. Surrounded with lush greenery, shady for almost the whole day and temperature was pleasantly cool. Absolutely would recommend!

Beautiful, peaceful, comfortable

We very much enjoyed our ten night stay in cottage 2 of Shambala. The beds were comfortable, the place was clean, and we had all the amenities we needed. The setting is peaceful and seems quite secluded, yet is only a kilometer or so from Nelly Bay and the ferry terminal. We rented a car, but it would have been possible to rely on public transit, as the bus goes on Barton Street, right by Shambala. Be aware that there is no WiFi, and our Vodafone SIM card did not find a signal. (You'd be better served with a Telstra SIM card on Magnetic Island.) However, short drives to Nelly Bay and Picnic Bay restored our connections with the outside world. The host was responsive and helpful when we called her. We were very happy during the time we spent there, and we recommend Shambala to other travelers.

Great location. We had the choice to walk, e scooter or bus everywhere we needed to go. Beautiful cool breeze running through the loyuvres all night. The bird life was fantastic albeit a bit raucous at night!

Very relaxing getaway

We enjoyed the very peaceful environment of Shambhala Retreat and the friendly welcome from our host, Monica. The cottage is obviously very well maintained and clean and the beds comfortable. All required cooking utensils, cutlery and plates/cups were provided. The Balinese-style gardens really do relax you and are very private for each cottage. It's an easy ten to fifteen minute walk into Nelly Bay. Very happy with our choice of accommodation!
