This gorgeous unpretentious beach cottage sits on absolute beachfront with beach walks, fishing and digging your feet in the sand right at the door - SERIOUSLY AT YOUR DOOR!
Airconditioned for the few days of the year when the beautiful sea breezes are not cooling you down, this 3 bed, 1 bathroom cottage is perfect for either a small family holiday, for one or two couples or a small group of friends.
Although unpretentious, it is beautifully decorated in relaxed beach style and offers all the modern conveniences needed. Full laundry and modern fully equipped kitchen and outdoor BBQ offer cooking options for those day when you just don't want to leave the property. Features include a generous grassed back yard for the kids to run or for a game of cricket, a kids cubby house and a pool over looking the Coral Sea.

The Cinderella House

Loved the space and layout of the property. Easy access to surrounding natural beauties. Quiet and peaceful walks along the beach. Could hear it lapping just outside the door.

Best hoilday in a long time

It was the relaxing and quietest places l have stayed in, very easy access to the beach and many other amenities. I would highly recommend anyone to stay there, l will look at returning again myself sometime in the future.

Fantastic in Every Way!

We spent a little over a week here while we explored the Cairns area, and loved everything about it. Neighborhood is quiet and convenient, beach is lovely, house is exactly as pictured, and communication with the host was easy and responsive. This is a top-notch stay!

Fantastic location for the airport and Cairns. We had a hire car for the whole of our stay and you do need one in this location. The beach in front is very beautiful but not great for paddling or swimming in as sand sucks you down. Swimming pool is lovely and big enough for all four of us. Being able to have breakfast outside and drinks in the evening was amazing (July Stay) Kitchen was excellent and an air fryer made everything so much easier and washer and dryer were perfect. Bedrooms were lovely as was living area. Was a fantastic property and would love to stay there again.

We loved staying here, not only for the beachfront location, but also as an ideal base for visiting the Cairns area. It was great to be away from the touristy parts of the city and feel like one of the locals. Everything at the property was exactly as appears on the listing.

wonderful beachfront

The location is beautiful and the house has a great ambience. Kitchen and bathroom were well equipped. It was great to be able to bring our dog and the big yard was great. Furniture was generally good but the bed in the main bedroom was a bit too saggy/soft. The dining chairs likewise were bit worn out and not so comfortable. But these were minor things and I would certainly want to stay again and recommend to others.

Serene beauty at the beach

We had an absolutely perfect stay at this beach house in Cairns! Falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean and waking up to breathtaking sunrises made each day special. The location is ideal, especially if you have a car – just a short drive to Cairns and all it offers. Strolling along the beautiful beach was a highlight, and the house itself was exactly as described, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. Everything was clean, and communication with the hosts was easy and smooth. Highly recommended for a relaxing and scenic getaway!

Great cottage on the beach. Great for walks but not for swimming even in the season. Village is great with Mayham’s cafe and the pub. Cottage cared for by agent not owners and little items are not checked. However agent responsive. Loved our stay.

This house was amazing. It was the perfect location and steps away from the beach. The kids loved playing on the beach. The house was clean and it provided everything we needed. We arrived at night and the owners left lights on so we could see as we entered the house. If we ever get the chance to visit again I would definitely stay here. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

After the storm!

We were rather concerned for the community when we saw the floods in Machans Beach had made the need in Sydney. Despite everything we were welcomed so early and looked after in such great style that we owe a debt of gratitude to the lovely people we encountered in MB, O'Shea's and Mayhem. In particular, Deb Marsh went out of her way to treasure us and make sure that everything was perfect for us.

On the Beach

We had a long stay in Cairns and enjoyed the home base of this VRBO. It was just as pictured, right on the sand. What we didn’t count on was a typhoon off the coast and the wet and windy days. But that is not the fault of the renters. It did however limit the use of the outside facilities. The little pool was lovely. The outdoor furniture unusable due to the wetness. The house is just as pictured. Getting a bit “used” looking, but is adequate. Hope the next renter has better weather.

Great location and responsive hosts

We spent 5 days in this home over New Years. The home is at the end of a quiet street. We rented a car and driving to the esplanade in Cairns took less than 15 minutes and 10 minutes to the airport. There is not a very convenient grocery store between the airport and the house so we had to go into town for proper snacks, etc. The house was spacious. There was some evidence of insect activity in the house (a few ants etc) but not bad considering the tropical location. The AC was nice and cold but in the single bedroom there was no AC, just a fan. It was too hot for my teenage son (it was the middle of a heat wave) so we had him sleep in the living room which was comfortable. The pool was clean and warm. A floatie (tube or pad) would have been nice to have. The patio furniture cushions would benefit from a good cleaning but we just put towels over them So it worked out fine. The WiFi did not work but the host was extremely responsive and helped us get access to the neighbors WiFi to use during our stay. The garden was fenced and there was a little play structure there. My kids are too old for this but it would have been an ideal situation for us when they were younger.The laundry facilities in the house were excellent. Furniture was comfortable and in good condition. The beach was lovely and clean. We watched fishermen every morning as we enjoyed our morning coffee. We ate at the local restaurant by the house, O’Sheas and had really great pizza and pasta.

My husband and I stayed for just over a week and absolutely loved the location. Waking up to sunsets right on the beach and falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean was amazing.
