The location was great with awesome views. However, I was so very disappointed with the property, most of which has already been mentioned in previous reviews. I have looked after my own properties all my life as well as professionally. It makes me upset and sad to see such a poor level of property maintenance. The place has the potential to be as awesome as the location. I can only wish that this may happen in the future. I wish the host(s) all the very best.Colin

Nice , peaceful cottage in a great spot

The cabin is simple and clean with all the amenities that you would need. Very peaceful location and good base to see the surrounding areas, including the history of Greenough and the sights of Geraldton and Dongara. We had a couple of minor hiccups, but the owner was easy to talk to and they got sorted quickly

Property is in a good location to access Geraldton, but not what I would call a beach cottage (20 min walk to beach), and not in great condition. Water smells bad and is not drinkable. Heat doesn’t work. Very rough dirt road to and from the property. It’s a bit above camping, but the stars are amazing.

Great location but a bit basic

The host was excellent, we could not make our booked date, he had availability for our 1 night stay and allowed us to arrive 2 days later than booked with no additional charge. We had difficulty finding the property we had all the instructions which were very clear but there is no phone signal so we could not access them. The lack of phone signal and WiFi is a concern if there was an medical emergency. The property is a converted static caravan, unfortunately its all a bit tired especially the outside. The glass bottle dividing wall shown in the photos has gone. The other concern is water, with rain water for drinking. It is adequate accommodation in a remote location with stunning views. Could be so much better without much effort or cost.

A place for quiet contemplation

Incredible view and surroundings with a feeling of isolation, while at the same time having the assurance of the owners being located just down the hill.

So peaceful

We loved our stay here, out of the rush of the city but close enough for convenience to both geraldton and dongara. A short walk to a secluded beach, our doggo loved it! Ian (the host) is very helpful, top bloke 👍 plus our cabin had a great view of the ocean and sunsets. Would stay here again

About the host

We are an easy going couple who enjoy the great outdoors. We have been living on our property called Ecostays now for 10 years. We love spending time with our 2 dogs (Labrador's) and coming up with many types of different recycling based projects to make Ecostay's a unique place to visit!

Why they chose this property

We are lucky enough to enjoy our own private beach and are constantly amazed at the ever changing sunsets over the horizon! We are environmentally conscious and are creating 1 bedroom self contained 'up cycled' cottages which provide privacy and a total escape from the real world. You can expect to hear the sound of the waves and the beautiful star covered sky at night.

It is so great to have people come from all over the world to come and visit! We have both travelled extensively over the years and believe we have a place that is very unique. It's great also now to get people visiting from Perth for weekends, as its only 4 hours north - and a great escape from rest of the world! Also half way between The Pinnacles (Cervantes) and The Pink Lake.

What makes this property unique

Beach, a million stars, privacy, a real escape from the world (and technology) and get back to nature. Being 'dog' friendly also makes this is the ideal place to visit for couples and their furry friends!
