Everything was excellent and we truly had a great stay. The place itself is wonderful — comfortable, well-equipped, and in a great location. The only issue worth mentioning is that there are no doors in the bedrooms, which may affect privacy and could be inconvenient for some guests. Other than that, everything was perfectly fine and we really enjoyed our stay.
We had a very nice few days in the accommodation in this beautiful part of the South Island. The house was great for our family of 4 and is located in a quiet neighborhood. This kids also really enjoyed that they could run around on the sizable yard.Special mention for the host Kristy who communicated great throughout and who saved the vacation of our youngest by mailing the teddybear he forgot back to us. Thank you!
Great place to stay. Super close to boat loading for doubtful sound. Just wish it had been a little more spacious and had doors on the bedrooms for more privacy.
Loved everything about this place: great and timely communications, clean/airy place with large yard and clothesline, terrific location (esp if you are going on the Doubtful sound cruise!) and peaceful. Close to Te Anau but cheaper alternative :)
Alirra’s View is a lovely crib/bach in Manapouri. We were delighted to find it was an easy walk to the wharf for our early morning departure on the Doubtful Sound cruise and also to the famous little bookshops where we met Ruth and Lance.
We were warm and comfortable in Alirra’s View and Kristy was a wonderful host.
This was our first stay outside Auckland & we absolutely loved it. All basic required amenities are provided. Very clean & well-maintained property. If you are the one looking for a quite & clam place away from the hustle bustle this is the right place to stay on and there is the lake which is at a walkable distance and a beautiful view of the mountains from the window .Overall a very good place to relax and family time together.
Great little kiwi batch that’s been brought up to date with modern renovations and upgrades.
It was warm and cosy for the family. Nice big lounge that everyone could relax in.
The bedrooms were rather small and cramped. But comfy beds which is all we really needed as we were out each day.
Great central location in town.
Communication with the owners was easy and accomodating. Great people.
Great place and would recommend.
This is a lovely place to stay and ticked a lot of boxes. The reason for the 4 star is that it was very warm during our stay and there was no way of cooling it down, no fan or cooling aircon option. Windows could not be left open due to the attraction of bugs after dusk (there are no fly screens in the living and kitchen areas). No extraction fan for the cooking area so had to suffice with opening a window to make do and having the bugs getting in! This was the only negative in what was a great little place to stay for several days. Obviously would not be an issue over Winter...
We didn't book until late because of uncertainty of our travel so we paid an arm and a leg for this property.I just came back from a 3-week trip to New Zealand where we stayed with friends, hotels, and Vrbo properties, three of them and this one was the first.Of the three, this one was the most expensive compared to the other two (also in tourist areas) for what the property has to offer.First, the pros. Like other properties, this one has pretty much a traveler on a long trip needs. It was clean and located in a quiet neighborhood, off the main traffic. The owner apparently has hired a property manager who was very responsive when we found one of the three rooms was locked and we only had two sets of towels for the three of us. She came over almost immediately to straighten everything out.Now the cons. The property advertised as a 3-bedroom house and one of the bedrooms has bunkbeds. Since I was traveling with a couple of friends (husband and wife), we thought that was more than sufficient as we will each take one of the main bedrooms. When we got there, we found the two main bedrooms have no doors, not even a blind or curtain, and they are next to each other. For privacy purpose, I volunteered to take the room with the bunkbeds (which was padlocked as mentioned before.) Also, the in-house laundry is located outside the house and it rained when we were there.

After spending a year in Queenstown, it was time to return home to Australia. We came across this little Bach for sale & thought it would make great family holiday memories for us and our 4 children. Already we have had many holidays here in Manapouri and we hope you do to. She was very tired when we purchased her, however in the winter of 2019 we gave her a fresh new look!
