My name is Neang that in Khmer means ‘woman’. I was born in 1990 in Siem Reap, near Angkor Wat.
I manage a traditional Khmer villa that belonged to my grandmother, and other traditional wooden houses that I found and restored with my brother, who is an architect.
The first house that we renovated was built in 1979, right after the fall of the Khmer Rouge regime. It was the house where I spent my childhood playing in and around, but it was later abandoned and so it remained for many years.
With the same spirit we gave other traditional wooden houses a new life. We renovated them to provide a high standard of comfort, but we also wanted to preserve their original features, so that everyone can experience Cambodian hospitality in a traditional home.
