A wonderful, amazing place! From watching the deer, turkey and other wildlife in the field to the coziness of the cabin, it was a welcome retreat. Attended a class at the Folk School and it was the perfect location.
Comfortable, quiet location. The cabin had everything I needed and was stocked with a few breakfast items to get me started the next morning. The host was extremely helpful and a pleasure to talk to. I loved this spot and will return!

Very Nice Cabin
The cabin is small, but has everything you need. The owners are very helpful and welcoming. The property is beautiful with a pond, creek, goats, and lots of deer.
Super cute property, in reality it was same as it was portrayed on the web site. Owners were gracious and friendly yet provided privacy. Highly recommend.
I had a lovely week-long stay here in May. The kitchen had everything that I needed to make breakfasts and lunches. Probably could have made suppers too. Great shower and a comfortable bed for myself. Quite property and plenty of privacy.
attended a class at JCCFS. the cabin was a welcome respite from each day's events. found an Ingles in Murphy and enjoyed my own meals. the property is really peaceful, and artistically inspiring. my self-guided tour was so very relaxing. Michael and Randy were both very helpful with the arrangements. Especially Randy, who stayed on the phone guiding me as i found my first-time way up the hill; he greeted / oriented me on arrival. real nice place, and would def stay here again!

Always a Pleasure to Stay at Forest Fantasy: Smoky Mtn Escape
I've stayed here numerous times in the past with my dog, Duke, and always enjoy our stay. Michael & Randy are great Hosts and ensure you have everything you need. The property is very large so plenty of room to roam about. There is a nice stream-fed pond that they stocked with fish and you'll see Randy out there feeding the fish once he's finished feeding the goats (in the barn area). There is also a firepit that I use at night if I'm not too exhausted from the day hikes I take my dog on. The town of Murphy is close by so I venture there in the morning to eat digs with the locals at my favorite breakfast place. There is so much to do in the area if you like the great outdoors - hiking, fishing, sightseeing, camping, riding bikes and motorcycles, etc. I love the windy roads in the area and there are plenty. The cabin is somewhat petite but has everything I need - bed, shower, kitchen area, even a small TV with internet access. The bathroom is great too - the shower is somewhat small but perfect for me. Overall, I love this place - it's so peaceful, hidden, beautiful, and has everything we need. The Hosts are fantastic too!
Loved the setting. Watching the deer in the pasture morning and evening was a highlight. And the goats were fun to watch. Michael and Randy were very nice and welcoming hosts.

Beautiful area
The bed needed new mattresses shower was very very small and very difficult to use
We absolutely loved our stay here. The hosts were so sweet and accommodating. They made sure we had everything we needed. It was my birthday and they left a birthday card for me and some chocolates. It had everything we needed and goats!!! Oh the goats were so cute and the view is amazing. There is also a pond and did I mention goats. šš You canāt go wrong staying at this unique find.
Nothing short of magical, the property has a beautiful view over the bamboo trees of the mountains. The goats are adorable and we named them all of course (even though they all have names already I'm sure). The creek runs along the property and you can hear it rushing after the rain with a couple little waterfalls, with the huge river less than a mile away and trails nearby to adventure on. We're obsessed with tiny houses so this place is exactly what we needed and wanted. Perfect romantic NYE getaway.
Perfect stay in quiet misty valley with great hosts
Perfect location with helpful and attentive hosts. I took a week long class at the folk school and it was close enough to come home every day for lunch. I loved the very quiet, lush location with deer, goats and a fish pond. It was the perfect size for me. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the view over coffee every morning as the mist rises. Would definitely stay here again.
This cabin is everything one could want for a mountain get away.
Even though itās near the ownersā residence, itās completely private. It was perfect for me when I took a class at the John C. Campbell Folk School. Couples might be disappointed⦠unless you donāt mind a twin trundle bed.
Great place to stay for classes at John C Campbell Folk School
Wonderful, private, quiet setting and the cabin is well equipped and maintained. The owners were very attentive to our needs and had very thoughtfully provided a bottle of wine and a dozen eggs from their chickens. Michael had told us that they had had a plumber out to fix a leak in the shower valve. We discovered that we couldnāt get more than lukewarm water in shower while sink and lav were hot. He somehow got the plumber there the same day, the shower mixing valve innards that had been installed were defective and that night, we had great showers.
My partner and I spent 10 nights at this little cabin. She took a class at the Campbell Folk School nearby, while I simply relaxed and enjoyed the view over the mountain meadow, read, napped, played music. The cabin sleeps two comfortably. The owners live nearby and are very accommodating and friendly. We would definitely return if future vacation plans put us in this area.
Awesome, tranquil spot in a beautiful mountain valley.
Wonderful mini cabin appointed with everything necessary for a comfortable retreat. If you are a nature lover you will appreciate this property with its gurgling creek, tranquil pond and deer in the meadow every evening. Close to Murphy NC for dining. Don't miss the folk art school shop for unique mountain crafts

It was perfect!
My husband and I absolutely loved our time here. The hosts were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and beyond.
Their kindness and hospitality were awesome. So nice and quiet. We built a fire by the fish pond in the evening and watched herds of deer travel across the property. It was really nice.
