Family friendly home!

Welcome to our quiet spacious country house, just a 20 minute drive from the Hobart CBD! The house is set on an acre of land with fruit trees to pick, and a beautiful view of Mount Wellington. There is plenty nearby to explore, Willie Smith's Apple Shed, Huonville, Pelverata Falls. The house remains nice and cool in the summer and in the winter if it gets chilly, there is a lovely wood fire in the living room. You will have the entire property to yourself!

Idyllic rural experience within easy reach of Hobart

The property is a spacious house in rural setting that was will suited to our family with teenage children. The house is well appointed and very comfortable.It is conveniently located to Hobart and the Huon valley. We really enjoyed our stay here. Perhaps the best place we've stayed in Tasmania. We also loved the wildlife in the backyard at dusk. If we had the time, we would have loved just relaxing here.

We stayed for eight nights, What we liked: - The wood burner this helped keep the house warm. - The kitchen I thought was modern and had everything we needed to self cater.- My car was out of the weather in the carport.What i didnt like:- Slate floors in the bathroom made it cold and not nice to use.- There were many items in the kitchen that were not clean, fingerprints on glassware and bowls and plates not washed up.- The water tank had some sort of pump that kept priming all day and night and given it was close to the bedroom it was tough to sleep with that noise.- There is only two free to air TV stations (ABC and SBS) so if you are coming here expecting to watch a bit of TV at night then forget it.- The internet connection was abismal dropping out constantly made it impossible to stream anything or even just to look up content.- The TV itself in the lounge room was straight out of 1999, it worked but thats the nicest thing I can say about it.- The path to the house has many broken bricks and I twisted my ankle and slipped many times making it a bit hazardous.- The BBQ was dirty and I wouldn't cook on that.- I think the water is also dirty as both of us got sick during our stay, as soon as we moved away it stopped I can only think the filters need to be looked at ASAP.Overall this property wasnt a good standard certainly not worthy of being on stayz and should be avoided until the owner takes action on some of the problems.

Why they chose this property

This is a beautiful, spacious old house with modern renovations and full of character. There are hardwood floorboards throughout, with a wood fire and heat pumps making the house very warm and cosy in the winter. It has a lovely garden with lots of fruit trees and flowers and is very quiet and peaceful. It captures stunning views of Mount Wellington and the best view of the "Sleeping Beauty" from the balcony of the house. In addition, there are three carports and plenty of off street parking on the premises. It is a 20 minute drive to Hobart CBD and 10 minutes to Kingston or Huonville.
