Silo House, Stunning architecture, near Flathead Lake and Glacier Park.
Located minutes away from Flathead Lake and centrally located between two Flathead Valley ski areas, this rustic modern home awaits your arrival. This is a perfect rental for those looking to be close to Glacier National Park and is a great base for hiking, fishing, skiing, boating and more! Perfect for a romantic vacation stay.
The house:
The Silo House has an open floor plan with plenty of room to entertain, with large windows overlooking a wetlands pond and the dramatic Rocky Mountains. There are two large bedrooms with comfy king size beds, a round loft with three twins (for kids or adults), two bathrooms, and private study with a twin which is in the silo over the master bedroom. There is also a basement office for those that need total privacy. High speed internet connected to a fiber hub 800 feet away and Star Link provides down load speeds of 120+MBPS down and 30 up.. A round fully stocked kitchen is a phenomenal place to cook and there is a stunning bar area. Condiments, salt, pepper, spices, coffee cubes, and drinks in the bar refrigerator are provided at no cost. The beautiful rustic wood kitchen table comfortably seats 10. You can enjoy your cup of coffee – or drink – in front of the fireplace or out on the beautifully appointed patio, which has an outdoor bar area and fire pit for both summer and winter nights! Also, bring your binoculars for sightings of all sorts of animal life, bird watching and horses in the pasture next door. The garden with the rock table is the perfect place for you to view the sunset or rise with your favorite glass of wine. Horses and one dog are allowed but all have to preapproved. In some cases we will allow more than one dog but extra charges may apply. Dogs may not be left alone in the house. Horses can have their own corral, pasture and stall. You can train them in the arena or the round pen. Arena has a great sand footing and jumps are provided.
If you book for more than two weeks a long term deposit may be required. When you arrive we will give you a full explanation of how everything works and answer any questions about the area. We are available to help you at anytime, or if you prefer, we will disappear.
The Silo House is a healthy house!
When you stay at the Silo House you will be alone and all contacts with other people will be controlled by you. The Silo House design, and our management of it, will provide you with a safe and healthy vacation retreat.
Property is licensed as a Tourist Home by the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services.
We will do the following to keep you safe:
1. Before you arrive, the house is cleaned by a professional cleaning company and inspected by your hosts, Tom and Susan. Cleaning includes:
a. All surfaces cleaned with EPA approved antibacterial cleaners.
b. All bedding changed.
2. If you prefer, we will shop for your groceries and supplies for a small additional charge.
3. The Silo House was designed from the ground up to be a healthy environment. We wanted to build a healthy house for all guests and ourselves. With this in mind, we included the following features:
a. The house has no crawl spaces or attics and every wall and ceiling has a foam barrier to insure we are as resistant as possible to animal, insect and germ penetration.
b. The house is heated by in floor radiant heating and gas fireplaces. This reduces dust, internal airflow and air circulation.
c. We have an air removal system which can replace all the air in the house with outside air in 20 minutes. We do not circulate the air we replace it. The house is Air conditioned with three zones allowing each bedroom to set their own temperature.
4. If you have other health request we will do our best to comply with them.
5. There are no cameras in the house, for your protection we have two recording security cameras outside, one on the front doorbell and one above the back door. These cameras record pictures and sound.
Newly built:
The Silo House was architecturally designed and ready for guest in 2020. It is available for small family reunions or other gatherings (no parties). The owner is happy to assist you with any of your requirements.
