About this property

Modern Rustic Farmhouse/Large Deck/Walk to Beach/Restaurants/Safeway

You will LOVE staying at this newly renovated Modern/Rustic Farmhouse Cabin! Gourmet kitchen, large outdoor deck for entertaining, a GARAGE with a W/D, a cozy Gas fireplace, AND all within WALKING distance to: beautiful public sandy beaches, golf course, restaurants, cafe's, walking/hiking/biking/XC ski trails, a gorgeous park and a 24/Hr Safeway grocery store. Kings Beach is 1 minute away, Northstar Resort is only 9 minutes away, Truckee is 15 min and Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows 20 min.
The Space:
This adorable completely renovated cabin is conveniently located right off North Shore Blvd. What a breeze it'll be to just pull right into your very own 1 car garage (it is only big enough for a mid size sedan). Unload your skis and place them on the ski rack and your boots and gear to the shelving to keep it all warm and dry with the heater.....
Come in through the covered walkway and make yourself at home in this cozy cabin with a comfy leather sofa and over sized leather chairs. Prepare yourself a drink and then with a flick of a switch turn on the gas fireplace so you can warm up next to a real flame. (Or you can just flip on the gas forced air heat to warm up the entire house in minutes). Relax and unwind watching your favorite shows or listening to your favorite music station as there is a 55" flat screen Roku TV for access to all of your streaming apps.

When you get hungry you will LOVE cooking in the brand new gourmet kitchen with everything you'll need to prepare a delicious meal. Coffee and cream is provided for your first couple of pots....

Bedrooms:
You will find the Master bedroom has a comfortable King size bed with rustic decor, and a flat screen TV with Roku, as well as a desk to place your laptop so you can check your email or do a little tele-commuting to the office. There is also an en-suite bathroom with a brand new vanity and walk-in shower.
The second bedroom is great for kids who will fight over who gets to sleep on the top bunk! ... or for kids at heart. There is also a Queen bed for sleeping 1 or 2 more. There is a TV for the kids (or adults) to watch their shows on Roku as well as games and books provided for hours of endless fun.

The second bathroom is located in the hallway with a brand new vanity, toilet and shower with a large deep tub for soaking in after a long day of skiing.

In the Summer, grab your shorts and head out to the very large outdoor deck (300 square feet) to do some tanning, reading and relaxing. (In the winter you can enjoy using the gas grill to prepare a delicious meal as well) and enjoy eating with your friends and family using the large outdoor dining table to dine and gather (Summer only) .... as you watch the sun melt away through the many tall trees and the beautiful aspen trees that surround the area. You may just see a bear meander by….

There is also a large backyard with outdoor furniture (Summer only) for you to enjoy sitting around, relaxing, watching the chipmunks and kids play. Or in winter for building a snowman. We have Corn Hole available too!

If you would like to do a load of laundry, there is a full size washer and dryer located in the garage. Laundry soap will be provided.

We also have provided sledding saucers for you to find the perfect sled hill!

Beach chairs/umbrella and beach towels will be provided for you to use in the summer.

Parking: Besides the garage, there is plenty of parking in the driveway and a spot to the right of the driveway.

Surrounding area:

What’s so great about the ‘Tall Trees Cabin’ is that you’re literally minutes away from EVERYTHING, yet you feel like you’re miles away from it all.
A short drive, bike ride, or walk takes you to the beach for sunning, swimming, beach volleyball and many barbecue/picnic table areas for fun beach time. There are also lots of large trees to provide you with shade if you’re worried about taking in too much sun. Other beautiful beaches close by are Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista Beach, Sand Beach, and my favorite, Sand Harbor.
Walk to a trailhead that meanders through the woods to North Tahoe Regional Park and a Treetop Adventure course. Or in the winter months grab your X-C skis and make your way over to the Nordic Center located there as well. The walking/biking trails will also lead you to Moondunes Beach, one of the most beautiful hidden white sand beaches on the lake.
Walk or ride your bike to Spindleshanks where they have one of the best Happy Hours (7 days a week!!!) on the North Shore. And then you don’t have to worry about drinking and driving as it’s a 15 minute walk away…. Or go there for breakfast or lunch. They even have a large outdoor deck overlooking the golf course. Walk/ride/or Uber your way to many other appealing restaurants, shops, café’s located in Kings Beach... a few minutes away. The casinos are located right on the Nevada/California border which is a 5 minute drive away as well.
Hop on the bus for a quick ride to Northstar, just 10 minutes away or head out to Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Diamond Peak, Mount Rose or Homewood for some winter skiing and riding or hiking and biking in the summer.
The Old Brockway Golf course is a block away. This is a historic golf course, enjoyed by Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

You will find the cabin has a basket full of tourist information for you to peruse through so you can get the most out of your visit, including maps, bike/ski/boat/kayak/SUP rental info as well as restaurant menus. There will also be provided a current Tahoe-Truckee Weekly on the coffee table where up-to-date events are listed.

Please read the "IMPORTANT" notes below and familiarize yourself with the house and county rules. By booking our cabin, you certify that you agree with the rules and will follow them. We respect our neighbors and the county's efforts to balance short-rentals with the local quality of life that makes Tahoe such a special place. Loud, rowdy guests or groups that at any point exceed the occupancy limit will be removed and fined.
***IMPORTANT: We support and comply with the Transient Occupancy Tax rules. Placer County strictly enforces the following: 1) Quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.; 2) NO open fires; 3) Occupancy limit (6); 3) all trash INSIDE closed bear boxes. Neighbors have access to a 24-hour hotline to complain. Fines and fees related to verified complaints will be passed on to you through VRBO or Placer County.***

***NOTE RE: OUTDOOR FURNITURE: The outdoor furniture is only available about mid-May through mid-October, as we "winterize" the house in mid-October to prepare for snow. We try to get the warm weather furniture out as soon as the big storms have swept through, which varies a bit from year-to-year.***

Home Away From Home
This home was spotlessly clean, in a perfect location close to restaurants and Northstar. We stayed here cozy and warm during the blizzard of the season! The hosts went above and beyond to assist us and answer all of our many questions. The well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and many personal touches throughout the home did not go unnoticed, truly making this property feel like a home away from home. Highly recommend! We would love to stay here again. Thank you for a beautiful stay.

Lovely, cozy getaway
We absolutely loved everything about our stay here. The cabin was the perfect size for us (four adults plus two young girls). It had everything we needed and more. Susan was the perfect host - providing clear instructions on checking in and making sure we had everything we needed for a fantastic stay. It's clear she takes excellent care of the cabin and the guests that stay there. The girls especially loved the lights in the bunk beds and we all had fun completing the puzzles and playing games in the evening after a fun day of sledding / hiking. Our time flew by, and we were all sad to leave - we will be back to this cozy cabin. Thank you so much for everything - it was the perfect spot for us to welcome in the New Year.

Tulsa to Tahoe
We drove from Oakland to Sacramento where my sister-in-law and her husband arrived via Amtrak from Oklahoma. We arrived at the cabin after spending extra time getting over Donner Summit because of snow. A quick text to Susan for the door code and we were in! ( I had managed to lose it despite all the e-mails Susan had sent!) The cabin is very well-appointed and comfortable. The furnace, and the gas stove in the living room kept us warm. We did a little baking, made breakfast and dinner and found everything we needed in the well-equipped kitchen. The cabin is just right for 4 adults or a family. You couldn't ask for a better location, it's walking distance to the beach and everything else. We loved our stay and hope to visit again!

Wonderful stay at Kings Beach
Susan’s farmhouse is conveniently located just uphill from all the fun at Kings Beach. It was decked out with all the amenities you need; even a garage to stow away the car during the stay. Susan’s attention to detail shows with the abundance of area resources at the farmhouse, its cleanliness and her communicativeness leading up to our arrival. We appreciated it all and made for a wonderful long weekend in Tahoe.

My husband and I are from North Lake Tahoe and love the outdoors and all that Tahoe has to offer. We both love to ski, snowboard, mountain bike, hike and play beach volleyball. I have my own cleaning business so I will make sure our cabin is spotless and sparkly clean after each tenant checks out, since I will be doing the cleaning myself. And since we love to travel and stay at vacation homes whenever we can, we know what things make people happy and we especially know how very important cleanliness is. I think we have hopefully thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable.

Why they chose this property

This was the first home my husband and I purchased. We had both of our daughters while living here. When our girls were young, an opportunity arose for us to move to Reno but we were not willing to give up our dream of spending time in Tahoe. So we decided to rent our house out to long term tenants hoping we would move back to 'The Lake' someday. We aren't quite ready to move back because of circumstances keeping us in Reno, but we thought we could have the best of both worlds if we turn our house into a vacation rental so we could enjoy using it too. So that's what we did!! We ended up doing a COMPLETE home renovation on it which took us 1 1/2 years to complete. We replaced literally everything in it (every toilet, every tub/shower/vanity/kitchen cabinets/appliances/door/paint/deck to make it new and modern but at the same time kept the cozy and rustic charm.

What makes this property unique
