Located 9 miles from the 4-wheel drive access on-ramp, "Running on Faith" offers a serene retreat in the exclusive 4x4 area of the Outer Banks. Start your day with a stunning sunrise from the king master suite on the third level, which includes deck access. The spacious great room, featuring breathtaking ocean views, is perfect for family gatherings. The well-equipped kitchen, complete with island seating, provides ample space for multiple cooks, and the gas grill on the third level deck eliminates the need to run up and down stairs. Enjoy your meals on the deck adjacent to the kitchen, savoring the evening breeze and the sound of the ocean.
The second level boasts another king master bedroom with deck access, a queen master bedroom with deck access, and a double master twin bunk bedroom with deck access. If you remove Beach parking permits there is a $250 fee per pass.
Travel insurance recommended, we do not refund for storms/hurricanes.

Beautiful quiet setting

Getaway from CT

The house was exactly as advertised. Extremely clean and well maintained. The pool was very clean and added a great experience for our kids. There was ample room for us and the decks added easy access the beach. Communication with the owner was incredible. Highly recommended.

The beach house was amazing!

We had an amazing first trip to the Outerbanks! This beach house was just perfect for our family! We especially loved being right on the beach, swimming in the heated pool and enjoying the hot tub! What was so unique about this house was that the wild horses came right on the property! Tim made sure that we had everything that we needed and was very easy going! We will definitely stay again in the future!

Never disappoints!

Sunrises, Sunsets and Beautifully Furnished

This was a fantastic place to spend my daughter’s spring break in the off season, with incredible direct beach access, unforgettable sunrises and sunsets and a beautifully furnished home with pieces I would seek out “in real life.” It was also spotlessly clean and smelled fresh as soon as you walked in, which I’ve found to be rare for beach rentals. The owner was very communicative, helpful and responsive, which we appreciated. We loved every minute and it genuinely felt like a comfortable, peaceful home away from home—we won’t soon forget our time here, and if you book you won’t, either!

Beautiful home with all the amenities

Our group of friends had a wonderful stay at Tim’s house in Carova. Tim was more than helpful and extremely responsive. The house is absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The beds are all comfortable, and the appointments in the house have a perfect feel of beach chic. Access to the beach is right over the dune. The hot tub and pool were lovely too. I highly recommend a stay in Tim’s home.

Perfection!

This home truly was the PERFECT vacation for our group of 3 families! Tim I cannot thank you enough for opening this incredible little slice of heaven up to share with others. The location, the amenities, the well thought out yet simple and beautiful decor truly made our stay! This is the perfect house for a carefree vacation away from it all! Its true what everyone says the horses make an appearance everyday in your yard, the dolphins at sunrise, the dear, the fox, the rabbit, the birds its truly a wildlife sanctuary! We were lucky enough to see a blood moon direct over the ocean which was perhaps one of the most breath taking things I have ever seen! The house has everything you could possibly need. Tim was the perfect host, Kelly was so welcoming and helpful! I just can't say enough good things about this home, its well cared for, well loved, and we were lucky to have found it for our vacation! We look forward to another stay at Running on Faith in the future and thank you for your hospitality!

Nothing short of amazing

This was absolutely the most amazing vacation we have ever experienced. The house is beautiful, views are amazing, wildlife is abundant. This beach is different than most; it encompasses the beauty you would expect from Carolina beaches, with the serenity of the mountains. The rich history here makes it unique; we highly recommend taking a day to go by the lighthouse and museum to learn about how this part of our country came to be what it is today. The owners are outstanding - they truly go above and beyond to make you feel like you are at home. This has been the only vacation rental we have booked for the following year on our way home!!! Wonderful homeowners make such a difference in the stay - and they don't get any better than this. Our children, ages 7 and 10, learned so much about the Spanish mustangs that are all around you (yes - even in the garage)! But that's not all we saw around us - we saw everything from deer to foxes, and that's not counting fish, dolphins, skates, and a shark that washed up on the shore! We did get stuck with our Ram 3500 (it is too heavy to make it in thick sand), but thankfully we had our Jeep Wrangler to winch us out; however, I was blown away by the amount of people that stopped and offered to help. Everyone was so friendly. This will now be an annual tradition for our family. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Tim and family.

This is our second time renting this home and we have to say we love it. The location on Carova is perfect if you want to see more horses than people. lol. The owner is an excellent communicator and generally great guy. The home is well maintained and comes complete with any appliance or kitchen gadget you can think of. WiFi is also excellent. We will be back!

It was a wonderful vacation. We’ve been to the Outer Banks many times and this was the first time on the four-wheel-drive Corolla Beach. It was great. It was such a fun experience riding on the beach. The home was beautiful and well stocked. I cooked several meals and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and bake. Great views. Horses were nearby everyday which was so much fun. The home is in a more secluded area so a lot of the beach traffic is found south of the home. Pool and hot tub clean and ready to go. And the hosts could not have been more lovely. Would definitely recommend this home and will be back.

Stunning Property on Adventurous 4x4 Beach!

This beach house is Stunning! Spacious and very clean with a super comfy large couch and beds. The views from this home are amazing and every evening, the wild horses came right up to the house. We loved that the house is on the 4x4 beach! We had a blast driving on the beach every day. We could walk right out the back door to the beach which was never crowded near this house. The heated pool was great with lounge chairs and a hot tub for the late nights. We loved that it had two out door showers! This house is fully stocked, especially the kitchen! It was like being right at home with anything and everything I needed! We will 100% be back! If you’re on the fence about which beach house to pick….this is it!

Great stay!

My family and I had an amazing time at this house! The house has a great open layout and everything was clean. The walk to the beach was short and the views were awesome from the house. We’d definitely stay here again! The drive to the house requires you to drive on the beach and it can get pretty bumpy, having an off road vehicle of some kind is definitely the best way to get to the house. If you have a vehicle that can get there, this is the place to stay!

The Perfect Getaway

Beautiful Clean Home!

This home is a wonderful beach house with everything you could need in the kitchen to prepare all meals which is very important to us. There is lots of hang out space for our family of 7 where everyone had their own space to relax. The pool area was awesome and close proximity to the beach. The house was decorated nicely, updated and very clean. We didn't have the best weather but our family with 5 children enjoyed our time together here! It was our first time driving on the beach so definitely do your homework on that before attempting that drive!! We would definitely stay here again!

Quite and relaxing place to stay.

Relaxing getaway

Just got back from a one week stay at this beautiful property. It was two families who just wanted a week away at the beach and pool and we were not disapointed. The house, beach, pool and grounds were all as described and beyond. The host was amazing with communication and answered any of our needs that arose. I will definitely be back for future vacations.

I grew up in Chatham, NJ and spent my summers on Long Beach Island in Harvey Cedars. I have lived in Boston, NY, and now Richmond, VA with my two fantastic girls Ava and Grace and our dog Beau.

Why they chose this property

Running on Faith has been more than just a house; it has been a blessing, a place of fond memories, and a source of great joy for all who have shared our home. When a fire took our beloved home in 2013, we were devastated but thankful that no one was hurt. Strangely, the guests who were there had decided to leave early, and we were delayed in our arrival on the eve of the fire. Running on Faith has blessed everyone who has entered its doors, and we are thrilled to rebuild and share our home once again.

What makes this property unique

For nearly 22 years many guests have shared what they love about our home and perhaps it is best expressed by one note I received several years ago that simply said 'Your home is so easy and comforting we just love returning each year' It truly makes me feel grateful to share our home with all of you.
