New Basement Private Suite - Fully Furnished, 1 BEDROOM & Futon

Completely self-contained, exterior access, separate air-system 1-bedroom suite.

Bright, newly renovated and fully furnished. Access via side of west side house, has its own separate, private patio. Full kitchenette, bathroom and in-suite laundry. Secure access through private path and patio.

Convenient location close to 33rd & Mackenzie Street gives you access to shops and transit - 200 feet from bus stop with 1-stop bus to downtown Vancouver, beaches, UBC, Pacific Spirit Park and other great amenities. There is street parking available for 1 vehicle in front of The Suite. More than 1 guest car becomes a little inconvenient for our neighbours, so we ask that if you have a vehicle, that you please park it directly in front of The Suite. City street parking in our neighbourhood is free of charge.

Radiant floor heating and modern bathroom and kitchen. There's a full fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer in suite.

Ideally suited for a single or a couple. We are also happy to accommodate couples traveling with a child.

We stayed here on an extended vacation so we could discover more of Vancouver. Location is great. It’s a quiet neighborhood but the city is close. We visited mostly parks and breweries while we were there. Shawn was kind and helpful, and we felt welcomed. 10/10

Lovely home in a lovely neighborhood

We loved our stay here. Shawn was a kind and friendly host, all amenities were clean and easy to use. This was a great place for a couple who want to explore Vancouver. Great location with an easy by route to downtown, just outside. Highly recommend!

Nice Little Suite well located

It was a comfortable little suite that was pretty well located to various Vancouver attractions. There were several little resturants nearby as well that we very good if you didnt want to make the trek and the parking headache of downtown Vancouver.

Home away from home

Absolutely fantastic place to stay in a beautiful Vancouver neighbourhood. Everything is a 10… the hosts, the apartment, the close amenities and the walkable neighbourhood. I will be back!

Perfect Taste of Vancouver

Very clean, quiet, comfortable, well-appointed unit. Beautiful patio with little table to have coffee. Great shower. Shawn, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. Cafe, bakery and grocery store a block away, as well as a public bus to downtown. Highly recommended!

This is a great property. The apartment is clean and well-maintained. I appreciated the washer/dryer and the fully stocked kitchen. Parking was ample and easy. Lovely outdoor area. Shawn was a great host; kind and friendly. Can't wait to return.

Family Wedding

The property was perfect for our 5 day stay. It had everything we needed and was very clean, comfortable, and cozy. Kitchen was fully equipped and loved the large fridge and washer and dryer. Everything was new and tastefully decorated. The neighborhood was beautiful and safe. Shawn was very accommodating and personable and even let us hang out with Jazzy, their cat. If we come back to Vancouver, we would stay again😊

Wonderful stay in basement suite!

We had such a wonderful stay in Shawn’s basement suite. The place was very tidy and spacious, and Shawn had a box of chocolates and teas and coffee waiting for us upon arrival. He was very friendly, responsive and helpful, and offered us herbs from his garden! The neighbourhood was beautiful and very safe, with lots of cute cafes nearby and is not far from kits beach. I will definitely be back!!

Van Hideaway

Pride of ownership is evident here and Shawn and Crystal are always within reach for any help along with great advice. The is is a great neighbourhood, with a coffee and bake shop, as well as a bakery and sandwich shop and a butcher, all within a block and easy access to major cross town travel routes, UBC and other amenities. We hope to return soon to this spotless, cozy location.

So clean

Awesome suite! So clean and bright and modern. We loved it! Has everything you could possibly need and more. Pots pans toaster kettle etc to make your own breakfast etc or meals if desired. Shawn was so great to chat with to confirm things and even allowed a late check out which was great. Sweet little patio area and very sweet kitty to greet us outside. Perfect, private and cozy

I was just delighted when I saw just how nice The Suite was. The pictures don't accurately convey the cozy ambience of this charming little suite. Everything I needed for my stay was there and it was warm and comfortable, with modern, clean furnishings. I would have loved to soak in the deep tub, but just didn't have time this trip, but maybe next time. I hope to be back to Vancouver in the next year and will definitely try to book this perfect place again from gracious hosts Chrystal and Shawn!

This is a little gem, set in a residential area but so close to public transport. A mini market 2 mins walk, so everything you need is available. Coffee shop also ! Shawn was a wonderful host, informative and helpful and not at all intrusive The basement apartment is small but everything is there to make you stay feel like 'home from home'. The apartment is well equipped and everything impeccably clean. I was so sorry that I did not have the opportunity to meet with Shawn before leaving and unfortunately my contact with him on Vrbo went down and I could not communicate with him. I hope Shawn sees this message and understands that we tried to let him know how wonderful the apartment was, what a great stay we had in Vancouver and how gracious he was.

Home away from home

As always it was wonderful staying at this property! Shawn and Chrystal are wonderful hosts. Very friendly and helpful. The unit is wonderful! Great location. Walkable to 41st and to a bakery , grocery store across the street and a cute coffee shop around the corner. Very central. Free parking , which is rare in Vancouver. The unit has everything you might need including a full kitchen to cook meals and washer and dryer. You can have a long term stay and have everything you need. New and clean . We always stay here when in Vancouver and it really feels like a home away from home.Nice clean bathroom. We would not stay anywhere else when in Vancouver! Thank you Chrystal and Shawn for being such great hosts and thank you for the chocolates you left for us. That is really going above and beyond! See you next time.

Very well equipped. I liked the full size fridge and the fact you could record programming on the TV. The only downside was the noise. Not from the neighbourhood, but from upstairs. Sounds carried very easily down to the suite. For example, it seemed like chairs moving (scraping?) across the floor upstairs was amplified to the suite and footsteps could be heard easily. Unfortunately on weekdays this started as early as 6:15am. Except for the noise the place was perfect. 4 out of 5.

Das Appartement im Suterain bei Chrystal und Shawn war die beste Unterkunft auf unserer Reise. Die Wohnung entsprach den Bildern und war vollumfänglich ausgestattet. Die Nachbarschaft war ruhig und ordentlich. Downtown und umliegende Stadtteile waren gut mit dem Bus erreichbar. Shaw stand uns jederzeit als Ansprechpartner zur Verfügung. Séjour absolument parfait!

C’est notre deuxième séjour chez Shawn&family. L’appartement est bien situé près de tout. À quelques minutes de UBC, de la plage et du VanDusen Garden. Des commerces tout près pour faire ses courses. On apprécie le calme du quartier. L’appartement est impeccable, confortable et bien équipé. Doté d’une lanceuse-sécheuse. Nous y retournerons dès que possible. Merci à Shawn pour l’accueil chaleureux!
