Why they chose this property

In my many travels for work and pleasure I make every effort to enjoy the beauty of my surroundings, as well as the history and culture of the local residents. Aside from the beautiful photos and memorable moments I share with others, I always remember where I stay. The place needs to be clean, comfortable, and convenient to areas of interest. "The Place" in Manistee does all this and more. It was built in 1882 and has retained its' charm with the original wood flooring, high ceilings and pocket doors, yet it has been refurbished to include the modern amenities that make travelers feel at home. When I travel to Manistee for a long weekend get-away, I look forward to relaxing on the deck, dining out or eating in, walking the Riverwalk to the clean and spacious beaches, taking in a beautiful sunset at Lake Michigan, and then ending the day with a good movie/book and peaceful sleep. I hope you will too!

What makes this property unique

The living space is spacious and comfortable, with amenities to make one feel at home. Private parking in the back of the building provides 2 private entrances, allowing for easy entry with luggage and groceries. Guests can watch parades from the new Pella windows or enjoy festivities at the street level, then use the private entrance on River Street to enter The Place. A new covered deck with ample seating for relaxing or dining can be enjoyed during the rain, and even on hot summer days the surrounding shade trees and offshore breeze keep the deck area comfortable.
