About this property
Scenic, upscale country living minutes from I-10 & I-49, & downtown Lafayette.,
The cottage is a stand-alone guest house on a hilltop overlooking a 4 acre private lake. The lake is a natural habitat and gives the feeling of being on the edge of the Atchafalaya Basin, while being only 5 minutes from I-49, and 8 minutes from I-10. Downtown Lafayette is about 18 minutes away. The property is perfectly located to explore all of South Louisiana, and especially Acadiana. Once you return from your adventures you can sit on the back porch, or in either bedroom, and watch often spectacular sunsets. Most times of year flocks of egrets and carmaranths fly into the cypress trees of the lake to roost for the night. One bedroom has two queen beds, and the other has one queen. Both bedrooms have smart TV’s and interesting art and decor, as well as ceilings made of reclaimed antique lumber and beams that create an upscale contemporary Cajun feel. The large living area has a kitchen, dining area, sofas, smart TV, desk, exercise equipment and wireless internet. The finishes throughout are high quality with comfortable Furnishings. There is a full sized refrigerator, washer and dryer. The hosts live nearby and are lifelong residents of the area. They will respect your privacy, but are also happy to provide suggestions for day trips, local dining, attractions, and just about anything you might want to do and see. This is a truly unique setting from which to explore South Louisiana, and enjoy its festivals, food, music, culture and the incredible hospitality of its people.

About the host
Your host

I had the privilege of co-founding Blue Dog Cafe in 1999 with world famous artist, George Rodrigue, whose works hang throughout this guest house. We love Acadiana, and we love sharing it with others.
Why they chose this property
The setting is unmatched in the Acadiana region, while still being within quick reach of anything you may need. Tranquil, beautiful, comfortable and convenient, period.
