This cottage is one of three on our seven acre property and is approximately 1000 sq ft with over 1000 Sq ft of deck. It has a large designated area for your exclusive use to ensure your privacy. The site lines between the cottages are obstructed with trees and there is over 150 feet separating one privacy area from another.
There is amazing fishing and a boat launch directly across from the property. Bring your boat or any other water craft and enjoy the always calm waters of the Trent. Enjoy the hot tub with a view to the water and roasting marshmallows by the Fire Pit under the stars.
We hope you enjoy our home away from home. We have gone to a great deal of effort to give this a resort style feel. Everything including the hot tub is less then a year old and the entire house has been completely renovated.
A full kitchen, dishes, and utensils are available for your use.

Everything was as described and well managed. The host was very responsive and any questions or concerns were quickly addressed.
Lots of towels, blankets, pillows, kitchen utensils etc. The hot tub was a wonderful source of relaxation and entertainment. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend the host and their other properties.

Peter is a tremendous host. Very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend.
The house is very comfortable, and feels like home. We enjoyed our Canada Day stay as there was fireworks right in front of the house. You do need bug repellant if you want to stay outdoors especially after sunset; we brought our thermacell to shield us from mozzies. The area is very close to town and crowe bridge conservation park and all the fishing spots.

Location was great. Fire pit with supplied wood was great although there were a lot of bugs in the evening. The cottage itself could use a restock of supplies, like frying pans and pots. We actually had to buy a toaster, which we left for the next renters. Chairs by the fire pit were in pretty rough shape, old and cracked. The cottage at first glance looks pretty clean but was pretty dirty under the bathroom sink and there were cobwebs throughout the cottage. We really enjoyed our time together and this cottage worked. If you rent this cottage just make sure your expectations are in line with the price.

Far away, very far
No curtains between the bedroom and the bathroom, no decent store close, no toaster no water pressure to shower properly. You better enjoy live in the wild to stay there. Got stung by wasps about 7 times, contacted host he said he would send someone to remove the wasp nest, no one ever came. Bed are soft and high. I'm 6'2 and my feet did not touch the ground while sitting on the bed. Lot of bugs around the house due to nearby river so spa and firespot may be enjoyed on daytime...
We mostly enjoyed the stay here, but everything seemed broken, broken light switches, pull out couch broken, missing window screens and crank handles to open them. Ceilings fans missing pull stings to turn off and on the lights but keep fans running. All cutlery and dishes were missmatched and plates had chips in them. The bathroom fan didnt work. The fridge door was missing almost every shelf so nothing could be in the door of the fridge. The hot tub support bar for the cover was broken and so were the plastic deck chairs. There was also was a spot where it looked like someone had punched a wall and left a huge dent.
Despite all that, the cottage was clean, the shower had plenty of hot water, the main beds were comfy, the hot tub was enjoyable, the deck was nice with a great veiw of the trent river, and wood was provided for campfires. Bbq was also awesome, looked brand new and worked great. We would still come back.
My husband, sister, and brother-in-law really enjoyed our weekend!
Everything was very clean, comfortable and just as expected. There weren't as many kitchen utensils/glasses as expected, but there were enough to get us through the weekend.
Ended up going into town (very very close!) and picking up some rocks glasses and leaving them for future guests. Honestly, not a complaint in the slightest, though as everything else was provided. More than enough towels, garbage bags, etc.
Important to note there is a water cooler too, which is nice if you don't want to bring single use water bottles.
We stayed in the winter and hot-tubbed while we overlooked the fire (firewood provided!) and the beautiful Trent River.
Would LOVE to see the hustle and bustle of the summer time in this location and on the river. Great place for a longer stay as well (laundry is is a great amenity!). They also provide a pass for local parks and attractions, the suspension bridge, etc.
The property is exceptional and you can see where the owners vision is going with the remaining old cottages that I am assuming he's planning to renovate. My sister and I love that stuff and found it very cool to see.
We had one small question for the owners while we were there and they answered back right away.
Can't recommend a stay here enough.
Thank you so much, Peter!!!
We stayed at this property in 2022 and it was wonderful. My spouse and I decided to return for our anniversary and it was extremely disappointing. We were scheduled for 2 nights and left after the 1st night. The house has a lot of interior damage including holes in the walls, damage around the outside door frames and the door, the microwave doesn't work, the passcode lock on the door didn't work upon check in and the host has to virtually unlock it. The sofa bed is broken and there was only one working outlet in the kitchen. The host let us know the sofa bed was broken 24 hours before check in not at the time of booking and told us there was an air mattress as a replacement. They offered a refund but we didn't know about any other issues. There is water damage in the bathroom and in the ceiling. The biggest problem was the bugs. We understand its a rural property and there will be some bugs however there were multiple types of bugs that seemed to increase over the day and a half we stayed including large ants in the bed. There was hair on the mattress under the fitted sheet. I contacted the host to let them know we left early and they asked why. I shared the reasons and photos but I was told their cleaners are vigilant and bugs happen in the country. The host kept asking questions but made it seem like we were wrong for being upset. I asked why they were asking if they didnt want the feedback and I was asked to remain respectful. I was respectful but frustrated. No resolution.
This cottage was beautiful and beyond our expectations. The cottage and property were exactly as listed and more. The view of the river across the road was so soothing and the hot tub was amazing and worked perfectly and was so easy to use. The beds were clean and comfortable and the kitchen perfectly stocked. We will definitely come back as a couple or a family if we can rent another building. Thanks Peter and family!
Lots of open area and a good feeling from when we walked in. The hot tub was great and the fire pit was set up so you could visit between the tub and fire pit.
Inside, the area was spacious and open for us to visit.
Early October 2 night stay at this lovely property, ideal for 2 couples or 4 to 5 person family. Firepit and hot tub were right up our alley after a day of golf, or hiking the nearby trails, or exploring the wineries and towns in Prince Edward County. A bit off the beaten track, but way less expenxive than inferior cottages near the lake. We'd go back in a minute.
We had a great time! The river was great for swimming and kayaking - very clean and calm. The cottage was beautifully decorated, clean, and spacious. We visited the Toonie Monument and the Suspension Bridge at Ferris Provincial Park and it was fun. Having the town of Campbellford only 7 minutes away was very convenient. Communication with Peter was excellent. We would definitely stay again next year!
The cottage was excellent and well equipped. It was great sitting around the fire looking across at the river. It was clean and Peter is an excellent host. We will book again.
We had a great stay here. The place was clean and had all supplies that we needed. All the furniture was comfortable and great for sleeping. Instruction were clear and great communication with host.
Property was great and we were surprised with how big the unit was! It felt bigger than we were expecting based on the pictures.
We had no issues. Hot tub and Firepit were great.
Great place for a group of 4! Responsive host, excellent condition, thoughtful layout/ amenities and comfy beds (big plus). Big windows let lots of light in. We found the place rather private despite being close to the main road, and easily accessible to town- may be less private in the summer. Thoroughly enjoyed the winter jacuzzi!!! Bedrooms are not very private but worked very well for a group of friends! Would definitely go back! Thanks for a lovely stay.
We were very happy with this place, exactly as advertised! It is not very private but you can tell that by the ad so as long as you aren't expecting it, it's still great! Perfect for spring and fall especially, since it's across the street from the river and no dock. I would definitely go back and recommend! The giant deck and hot tub is amazing and it is a very clean and well put together property!
This is a great property. Cottage is beautiful and the wrap around deck allows you to follow the sun throughout the day.
We were very impressed with the cleanliness and openness of the cottage. The beds were perfect. It is a very bright cottage which is wonderful during the day.
The hot tub was an added bonus and the fire pit is beautiful.
Privacy isn’t perfect if there are renters next door, but even with them out in their hot tub and us in our we couldn’t really see nor hear them. And you can tell that it would be more private in the summer when the foliage grows in.
The place was spotless, and had a modern vibe. Everything worked perfectly fine. The hot tub was very relaxing, especially with the view of the river. Firewood, toiletries, towels, keurig coffee pods, board games, garbage bags etc.. were all provided. Instructions and rules were very clear from the owner. My only critique is the place was a bit chilly even when we tried to blast the heating. Otherwise, this was a great place to stay, i would come again!
