Our host was very responsive to my messages. The house was very clean & fully stocked. It is very conveniently located to downtown. We could walk to our favorite coffee shop, so it goes. The neighborhood was very quiet. We will definitely be back & have already recommended it to friends.
Quiet neighborhood, comfortable home. Sami was very responsive to all inquiries. Large comfortable common areas. We enjoyed our stay!As noted in the description stairs to second floor bedrooms are steep - handrails are sturdy.

Over grown bushes in front, older home, steep stairs.
The house feels open and airy, with lots of natural light. It has two well-furnished living spaces that make gatherings enjoyable, a nicely appointed kitchen and a large dining table. We found the beds quite comfortable. The house is about a ten or fifteen minute walk to a number of quality restaurants and cafes and the boardwalk area. I highly recommend!
Very well organized and clean. Many little extra details that go above and beyond other vacation rentals we've stayed at. We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you so much for this beautiful review, we want to do our best to make everyone experience above and beyond satisfaction
The location was great. It was a wonderful place to stay for our family (4 adults and 3 kids under 9). Plenty of items for the kids to stay entertained. Very central location for our needs. Would recommend.
there was an issue contacting the host. first time contacted Sam and got a reply. Second time my contact was with Selina. She said i wasn't listed fopr that property on that date. I called vrbo and the next day Sam called me and everything was ok. I want to know what caused the mix up.
The property was a great place to gather with our 8 friends for the new year- plenty of room for games and visiting- the listing was a bit mid-leading up stairs:
sleep sofa /futon (1) • Twin/ Single (1) • King (1) so we thought there would be an additional king bed- but we made do and snuggled on the bunk bed and double beds. Parking was ample for our 4 vehicles. Enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

Property has 4 bedrooms, one king, 2 bedrooms each has a full bed, one room with a twin bunk bed, one couch with a he pull out full bed, and 2 large sofas can also be used.
We checked in late because got all the rush hour traffic coming from Portland. Sami was very quick to respond to my any question. House was very clean and I order. We will definably recomend Sami property and will definably consider staying thwre again if available when we return to Coos Bay
My family enjoyed staying at Sami's place. Thanks for everything Sami

We are so happy to hear you all had a good times. We would love to see you back at our property.
Thank you
My family and I had a very short two day stay, but it was perfect for our needs. Sami was incredibly responsive and considerate. I had asked for an early check in, and while Sami was unable to provide that ahead of time, we stayed in contact up to our check in time, and eventually we were allowed to enter about 45 minutes early, which was great, since we all had a dinner to prepare for about an hour after check in.
The property was pretty much exactly as described. The only surprise was the the upstairs bathroom was located in one of the bedrooms, but it did not cause any issues for us. Otherwise, the accommodations covered the essentials and met our needs perfectly. I will say, the black couch in the dining/living area was not comfortable for lounging, but the two couches in the main living room were really comfy. So, we stayed in the main living room for the most part. Otherwise, I have no compliants about the property and would recommend to anyone who wants a simple, yet affordable place to stay.

House is great - Owner not so much
The house was great, exactly as described online. My problem was with the owner. I received a message from him about 2 months before my stay stating that VRBO had made a mistake and the first night of my 3 night stay was double booked and not available. I was offered a refund, but there were no other options available that late so we ended up having to get a hotel for the first night of our stay. The owner sent me an email stating that he would try to have the place ready as early as possible for us on our check in day.
Check in day arrives and we show up at the house at 4:15(check in is 4). A woman at the door is still cleaning and says she needs another 10 minutes. I then call the owner to get the code and he proceeds to argue with me and tell me I don’t have a reservation. He finally realizes I have a reservation and gives me the code. Cleaner doesn’t leave until close to 5.
Best part about the owner - he texted me late on my last night to ask when I was going to leave. Then he texted multiple times on the morning of check out. I was gone by 8:30 when check out was 10. He made us feel like we needed to leave.
As I said house is great - owner needs to learn how to deal with people. Because of him I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Not a pleasant experience
Our experience with Sami was not great. We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children under 3 years old) visiting family in town, and when our family member came over to visit, Sami tried to charge us an additional 20%. We explained she was not sleeping there and he did not end up charging us, although I don’t see why that should matter when you advertise your house as holding 9 people. The fact that it was even brought up because he was watching us on surveillance cameras was disturbing.
Vrbo does not allow an up charge for infants yet he used that as justification for us trying to hide something. Like we were trying to swindle him out of money because we have a baby.
When we got there, there was a broken reading lamp in the room our kids were staying in which we had to move and use a different lamp from downstairs so that we could see in the room at night. Sami accused us of breaking the lamp and tried to charge us the full retail price for replacing it. After threatening to take the matter to VRBO, we settled on splitting the full retail cost for replacement for something that was already broken. Seemed like a trick of the trade. I would be surprised to see if it ever gets replaced or if others have dealt with the “broken lamp trick.”
The house was generally clean but there were ants crawling all over the kitchen during our stay. The backyard was beautiful.
I would not stay at this property again.

It’s unfortunate that Neal had left this review after we had gone over him giving the access code to an unregistered guest to access the property with their 2 dogs, ( after booking a no pet property). This person accessed the property before his arrival, which we were notified of via security outside the front door. Neal had previously requested his 40 pound dog to stay with them prior to his arrival, which was declined. We have a no pet policy due to severe allergies in our family, as well as future guests. His reservation stated a party of 4, when there were 5...and an additional family member who was in the home for child care, making it 6. When I texted regarding the matter, we agreed to no fee for the infant, and he agreed the family member would babysit during the day and not stay. He enjoyed the property enough to request additional days via text, which we could not accommodate due to an already scheduled reservation. Upon check out, our management team noted (and sent pictures) of the broken lamp. Neal did not during his stay, notify us of any broken items, ants, or any issues. It is standard policy to replace broken items, of which we felt the guest had agreed to a reasonable price of replacement. The texts between indicate a satisfactory stay, and it’s disappointing to see this review. In addition, our cleaning team found a $25 gift certificate owned by guest, which was returned to him. We would welcome Neal again.
Very comfortable and roomy. Includes family and living room, both large. Very nicely decorated and modern features, and everything we needed. Great for family get together. The Mingus Park is quite attractive.
Great stay for a family, but strange older house layout
Nice central location, options for sleeping, shared spaces are big, kitchen is a little small, but upstairs bathroom is strange- it is in a small bedroom and has stairs in it. We enjoyed our stay.
The home is clean, neighborhood nice. Layout of home is a little challenging, the stairs are not good for older folks. Large dining table great for gathering, amazing collection of books available for some relaxing reading in one of the comfy chairs and the yard is nice. We had a wonderful time, our first trip to Coos Bay.
Overall great place with no real issues. The listing is a bit confusing about what bedroom/bed type is on the main level of the house. House has plenty of items you would need for a 5 day stay including towels, sheets, blankets, etc. Kitchen is well stocked, although it could use a smaller pot for making a small batch of something. Neighborhood is a bit sketchy because of homeless people but this is becoming more and more true of many neighborhoods across America unfortunately. I would recommend this place and would stay here again if in the area.
