We loved our 10 day stay here. Rod was incredibly generous with hosting on very short notice. The house is exactly as described: well-loved, spacious, and incredibly easy to enjoy (even with dogs in tow) with a good number of years behind it. It really felt like borrowing someone's beloved beach shack. The location is fabulous for a relaxing retreat, and from which to explore the peninsula. The house was well prepared for guests with everything we needed. We'd stay again in a heartbeat.
We enjoyed a 2 week stay here, the house was perfect, great location close to family & beach & the back yard was fully fenced which was wonderful for our dog to enjoy. Rod was always available to answer any of my questions & even set the table with Christmas decorations for us. Thank you Rod, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Great spaces for 2 families to move about in and catch up with space for each to get away if they needed.
Quiet deck on the creek with the beach a short walk away. The host set the house up so well for our Christmas day we were blown away by their thoughtfulness. Thanks very much!
We were nine adults and two kids and the place was perfect for us. Even though there are only three bedrooms, there are plenty of extra spaces so we were not all on top of each other and the teenagers slept in the TV room to have some privacy away from their younger cousins in the bunk room. Rod made us feel very welcome and provided for all our needs, including extra snacks and drinks on arrival and the dining table set up with Christmas bonbons. He even supplied extra items for my sister’s new pup. The location was fantastic. It was lovely to sit on the back porch and look out at the creek and only five minutes walk to the beach. The place is a little run down and tired, especially the bathrooms, but this only made us feel comfortable to have kids and a puppy with us and not worry too much. The furniture and beds were all in excellent condition and plenty of towels. Overall an excellent experience and would definitely recommend for a big family get together.
Perfect spot for big gathering of family. Kitchen and bathrooms are old but work well. It was dusty but it is by the beach so you have to go with the flow of that. In fact we did not worry about bringing sand into house! It was perfect spot too to enjoy canal and canoes and have an evening drink on pontoon. Thankyou
