Perfect Location for a relaxing break

Very happy with the accommodation which was spacious and immaculately clean with great natural light and lots of thoughtful extras. Port Albert is a small town but there are a couple of good places to eat and interesting history to explore. Gowrie House was the perfect base to enjoy our break and great value as well. Recommended!

I loved the serenity of the property. The house had a warmth to it and was so inviting. I try to visit Port Albert yearly knowing it is a place where you can find a getaway from busy routine. I would definitely recommend Gowrie guest house.

The Loft

This compact stay is for those who manage stairs well. It's warm, comfortable and very well outfitted! A great space to crash and restore. Good eateries are close the surrounds are stepped in history! It's quiet, set apart and gives wonderful sunries✨️

Needs improved heating for winter stays

A lovely property, close to everything - just a shame that it is very cold, a single electric heater in the living room just couldn't fight against the cold, particularly in the mornings.

Good Morning Gary, Thank you for your message and feedback following your stay at Gowrie House. Just to clarify, within the lounge area we have both an electric heater and a gas heater available. When the gas heater is on, the room quickly becomes beautifully warm and toasty — ideal for relaxing during the cooler months. For added comfort, we also provide electric blankets, cosy woollen blankets to snuggle into, and hot water bottles should you need them during your stay. Short but sweet interlude

Lovely property and grounds, great location. Limited amenities and very steep stairs to access the accommodation but once inside it was a pleasant hideaway to relax from the days sightseeing.

Perfect Stay

The accommodation is in a very nicely renovated historic building. When Marcus showed us in he gave a lot of helpful information about things we could do and places to eat. Bicycles were also provided so we could do the Christopher Robinson/Old Port Trail. The Gowrie is spacious but can also feel cosy. There are also outside areas where you can sit and relax.

It was a pleasure to have Peta and partner stay at Gowrie Guest House for a four day break. This allowed them to explore the many wonders of South gippsland and surrounds plus experience the hospitality of the locals. They were very engaging and left the loft in immaculate condition. Port Albert est bien situé pour visiter les environs: promontoire Wilson, chute d'Agnes, parc Tarra-bulga, plages. C'est au milieu de ces différents points à visiter. L'appartement est bien, mais il faut monter un escalier assez raide. Ceci pourrait être un problème pour des personnes à mobilité réduite. Ce n'était pas notre cas. L'endroit est propre et les hôtes ont communiqués avec nous avant notre arrivée pour le Check-in.
