About this property

Jekyll Beach - Terrapin Haven

Jekyll Island is state owned, and as such, development of the island is restricted to only 35% of the island creating a very quiet, laid-back atmosphere. If you want to 'get away from it all,' this is the place! The beaches are relatively undisturbed, and summer is a great time to see the huge sea turtles come onto the beach to lay their eggs.

This is a vacation rental that's large enough for the whole clan, yet comfortable for one or two, and it's located in the Jekyll Beach area. The home has lots of living areas, including a sunroom that's perfect for games and entertaining. The dining room table seats six, but if there are only two, just sit at the breakfast bar. Jekyll's newest wooden crossover to the beach is across the street. This house is on the west side of Beachview, and is approximately 100 yards from the beach. High tide limits beach access to ALL homes on this end of the island but "all day" beaches are just a 2 min. ride, with great parking, picnic tables and a ramp.

There is a minimum rental of 4 nights required.

Lovely vacation stay

We had a lovely 5 day vacation stay at this home on Jekyll. Perfect home base, great to have room to spread out. Only complaint is beds are dated and uncomfortable. We would stay here again.

Our group had a wonderful stay at this wonderful home! Nancy left very detailed directions on how to enter and how to locate the house. Perfectly located on the island just a street over from the beach. Clean, comfortable and cozy! I would highly recommend for families or groups.

Quiet getaway from life’s stresses

The property is located near beach access. The neighbors were quiet and we were visited by occasional wildlife. The property suited the needs of 3 adults perfectly. The owner was very responsive and friendly.

Great location-Close to beach-Very quiet and perfect for the family!

Great place!

This place was great! So spacious and super close to the beach. Showers could use some updating since the older, low-pressure fixtures make it difficult to wash sand off. I really didn't have any other complaints and that one was minor compared to how great everything else was!

We have owned for 7 years and have replaced the driveway, sunroom windows, exterior doors, stuccoed the sunroom's exterior, changed out some light fixtures & painted interior. Jekyll Island Family Vacation

The house was clean and the neighborhood was quiet. We loved being able to walk across the street to the beach. The beach does disappear, but if you watch the tide times, you can enjoy a very nice private beach with no problems. The island has enough stuff to keep you busy. Love the nature on the island and the history!

Why they chose this property

Jekyll Island is a true beach vacation as I remember in the 80's. Jekyll has avoided the busy growth of nearby St. Simons, and as a state park, allows a quiet vacation experience.

What makes this property unique

Love to walk on the quiet beach with lots of areas with no crowds. I enjoy seeing the sea turtles, and even have deer in the yard in the evenings.
