OBX~Sunset View~Gazebo~Bike Path~Walk to Beach~Free Bikes & Kayaks~Super Clean!!

Beautiful private "SUPER CLEAN" apartment located in the heart of Kill Devil Hills called "Sunset Surf Shack". This is a private studio apartment attached to the back of our house that has a separate door & private access to the apartment through a private stair entry with a key code door lock.

You can walk directly across the street to the sound access gazebo where you can see the sunset & launch our kayaks. The bike path is directly in front of our home which takes you to the Wright Brothers Memorial and many local restaurants & venues. The beach is just across the street (.5 miles)with FREE parking at ALL beach accesses. Our local boat ramp is a few blocks away w/free parking & boat launch. Kill Devil Hills is located between all the amazing attractions in the Outerbanks. We are centrally located between 4 of the most amazing lighthouses on the Outerbanks. The Currituck Beach Lighthouse, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse,
Bodie Island Lighthouse, Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse all with in driving distances. You can also drive to Hatteras and take the Ocracoke Ferry for free for the day.

We have a separate A/C and heater unit for you to control the temperature.
We provide a freshly made queen size bed & wash our comforters after each guests leaves. We also have a queen size couch bed that has an extra mattress pad for comfort. Soft fluffy towels are provided & we wash our bath mats each check in as well.
A small cooler & ice packs are provided as well as beach towels. We have 2 awesome Electra beach cruisers & one has a basket & a men's bike. The beach is a half mile across the street.
Food Lion & Publix is right down the street behind our house plus many awesome restaurants within biking distance.
We have a 5* bathroom with a beautiful blue waterfall sink and a lovely large sized shower with beautiful glass doors. Shampoo, body wash, and conditioner is provided.

Super clean and comfortable. Have to point out the coffee mugs. Not the tiny stick your pinky out tea cups. Massive coffee lover mugs you can fill and enjoy on the back patio deck. Enjoy the breeze and watch the squirrels collect their breakfast. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Don’t miss the sunsets on the sound across the street from the gazebo!

Great property for our short getaway! Had everything we needed! Centrally located to some of our favorite spots. Paved walkway right across the street from the house was great for daily walks. Beautiful sound views nearby. Bed was comfy. Clean space. Very soundproof so barely heard any outside noise. Nice shower! Plenty of towels and washcloths and other necessities. Host was super quick responding to messages and had clear instructions and helpful tips. We’ll be back!

This is a very nice studio rental for a couple or, in our case, a mother daughter getaway. It was very clean and thoughtfully furnished. Very comfy. It was perfect for us and our long weekend getaway! Amber was also excellent to work with.

Such a special space!

We had to best time here. The sunsets are stunning and it’s a great location for wherever you want to go. Amber & Brett thought of everything we could ever need. The space was super clean and the bathroom was incredible! We come to the outer banks very often and this is definitely one of the best places we have stayed. Checking in & out was super easy! We will definitely be back.

Perfect getaway

We recently stayed a couple of nights here on our Outer Banks vacation. It was very clean and perfect for what we needed. Quiet neighborhood with a beautiful gazebo area just across the street to watch the sunset. Brett and Amber are excellent hosts. They recommended several places to eat and activities in the area. Would definitely visit again.

Perfect getaway

This location is great. It is directly across from a public access to the sound with a gazebo. We crossed the street many times during our stay to enjoy the view. The room is updated and very nicely decorated. Borrowing the bikes and kayaks was a real treat. Definitely coming back!

Wonderful option for a family of three

We had a great stay at this property. We had two adults and a six-year-old in our party. It was perfect for our needs. The owners were very thoughtful in the things they made available with the property: board games, information on attractions and personal suggestions, beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels, ice packs, kayaks, bicycles, and beach toys. I’m sure I’m forgetting a few of the really nice touches of having just what you need, didn’t think about, or forgot. The location was great. The house is in a quiet neighborhood. We were a very short drive to easy parking for the beach. We also felt like the location was great for cutting down on time driving to all of the other locations and attractions we wanted to see and do: Wright Brothers National Memorial, lighthouses, dunes, Corolla to see the horses, etc. We had family staying in Duck and we seemed to be able to get around much easier. We will definitely look into booking here again.

Very clean with a gorgeous remodeled big bathroom. Somehow, I didn’t realize it was a studio. Amber was an excellent communicator responded promptly at all times. Both Amber and Brett made solid recommendations about things to do n the area and restaurants. It was a quiet relaxing area with beautiful sunsets.
