About this property
Vineyard Cottage
Vineyard Cottage
Nestled among the rolling hills of our Paroa Bay vines is our Vineyard Cottage, a beautiful two-bedroom, two-bathroom villa. Vineyard Cottage nods to the tradition of a farm-cottage style residence while concurrently being a modern and architecturally designed villa — creating a quaint and homely feel in the lap of supreme comfort and luxury.
The villa sits atop a beautifully terraced garden and entertainment area, enveloped by native fauna and peering out over the expansive hills of vines and native bush. The outdoor area features a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, and BBQ area, while inside there is a gourmet kitchen, an entertainment area, and a gorgeous open fire place, all atop a beautiful hard wood floor.
With acres of gardens and coastal areas to explore, Vineyard Cottage is
an immersive experience. Whether it is waking up to native bird calls, the unmistakable New Zealand greenery all around, sitting outside on the sun- drenched deck, or strolling among the gardens and bush, Vineyard Cottage is a place where one gets a true sense of calm and belonging.
Paroa Bay Winery
There are few places in the world where you get the sense of land emerging from the ocean — where sky, land and sea are continuous — New Zealand’s Paroa Bay Winery and Estate is one of these places. Our superb property features three supremely luxury villas, a boutique vineyard, and our restaurant Sage. In the same way the land traces below the waterline, the Paroa Bay experience is continuous — from the considered architecture of our villas, through the carefully selected ingredients on our menu, to the artisanal quality of our wines, we offer an experience of complete relaxation and luxury in a truly unique and awe-inspiring setting.
Sage Restaurant at Paroa Bay Winery
We do not have to look far for inspiration at Sage — our restaurant at Paroa Bay Winery. Perched high above the idyllic Bay of Islands, it is the Moana (ocean) and Whenua (land) who inform and inspire our menu. From the end of the fishing line cast into the sea to the orchard doors of our suppliers and our very own onsite gardens, our focus is on locally grown and sourced ingredients which combine seamlessly into a uniquely creative brand of New Zealand cuisine.
With a broad-ranging menu that features some of the freshest and most revered offerings from the ocean — all sustainably fished and line-caught — and some of New Zealand’s world-renowned natural produce, our chefs work to strike the perfect balance between creative flair and allowing their ingredients to be savoured as they are. And with all dishes thoughtfully matched from wines directly from our very own cellar door, the culinary experience is full-circle. It is our considered and intuitive approach that pervades the restaurant at Sage, from ingredient sourcing, through the kitchen and front of house.
In a world where sustainability matters, we're extremely proud to know that almost every ingredient in our kitchen has come from just down the road — we even picked some of them ourselves. It is the connection between our surroundings and our menu that sets Sage apart — and when the surroundings are one of the most beautiful natural environments on the planet you can taste the difference.
