Lovely forested getaway

The rental space is nicely appointed. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The small kitchenette is well appointed and worked great to make ourselves breakfast or a quick lunch. Definitely recommend

Comfortable & Convenient

Very convenient to town and surprisingly quiet. Very comfortable beds for a good night's sleep. Even though it was very hot in Portland, it was cool with all the surrounding trees.

Close to the Portland zoo

Picked this place based on how close it was to the zoo. Nice little place. Right off the main road so I almost missed it the first time but a good little place. There was a space heater for my wife whos constantly cold.

Great place, not walkable area

If you bring your dogs you will need to drive a little bit in order to walk your dog, since this is right beneath a highway with no sidewalk. Otherwise this place is amazing!

Portland Stay

We came to Portland to visit our nephew who attends a local university. The accommodations were very clean, organized and conveniently located just above the city. There are several points of interest nearby, including the Japanese Gardens, International Rose Test Garden and Pittock Mansion. If your looking for a nice little spot to stay and you like a view of the greenery we would highly recommend. Matt and Ariel

Wedding Party Preparation

Great stay, comfortable and worked for our needs. Very close to Stevens Pavillion where we were holding a wedding. Cute little place for bride and party to get ready. Easy to ferry to park. Parking was an issue for a larger van. Very small parking area--looks bigger in pics.

Quiet and relaxing

It's a perfect place to visit Portland. Just outside of Portland downtown, but quiet and peaceful. It's strategically a perfect place to explore the surrounding area. The property is very nice, clean and comfortable, especially when you're out all day exploring the town. Definitely for two people or a small family. We made dinner most nights and everything was available to make an enjoyable meal. I will warn you that if you're not comfortable driving hilly, windy roads at night it can be a little challenging or a lot of fun.

beautiful neighborhood

Great Property, great neighborhood. Beds were SUPER Comfy everything we needed to enjoy our stay. No real sidewalks in the area and a relatively busy and, fast moving street. Neat neighborhoods within a short drive. The only other negative thing i mention is the stairs to the unit use some "no-slip" applications. Slippery when wet! I would definitely stay here again.

Daughter’s Graduation

We needed a place close to downtown and Portland State for our daughter’s graduation. The apartment was well maintained and clean. Beautiful landscaping and quiet. Parking on the busy street slightly disconcerting, but well defined by directions, Our only complaint is the number of fees and taxes added by VRBO and the city. Makes cost prohibitive from wanting to book again.

PERFECT!

This was a great place to stay in Portland! Right beside a main road but absolutely no road noise. You are on a downstairs unit but we didnt have any issues with sleeping and my wife is a light sleeper. Not even a issue but while making breakfast we tripped a breaking because we had the stove, microwave and coffee maker going at one time. They responded immediately and had it fixed within time to finish making breakfast without delay.

Cool and Calm

Appreciate the organization, set up, beautiful (and convenient) location and simplicity of this sweet unit. Perfect for our family of three that was on the move during our time in Portland. We could hear some (minor) noise from upstairs but it was respectful, and not an inconvenience. Everything is labeled so it was easy to know which hook was for towels or coats. Appreciate the thoughtfulness.

Portland Getaway

The overall experience was great! The neighbourhood was close enough to many different neighbours and it was easy to explore. You would need a car to get to groceries etc. The only downfall for us was the lack of grass or safe areas to walk our dogs for their morning and evening pees as it’s right next to a busy road. We had to drive our dogs a few blocks away each time. The trails close by for dogs are awesome though! The place itself was great for four people. The only feedback would be that the couches were small and very uncomfortable, seemed more like patio furniture, so it wasn’t as cozy to watch shows.

Nice spot close to good restaurants and Portland in general.

We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed this mother-in-law unit very much. I do believe the owners live directly above. We could hear them moving around occasionally. Otherwise a very quiet location. Other than the home being right along a very busy street with fast moving traffic, a very nice location. It is difficult sometimes to get in and out of the driveway because of the orientation and speed of the traffic going by. Everything was very clear and up to date. Beds were comfortable. We did not attempt to cook, but I would say that it would be difficult to cook a full meal since there is not an actual range oven and the cook top only has two burners. The kitchen area/counter space is really small. But, really who wants to cook when there are wonderful breakfast restaurants, food trucks, dinner restaurants only minutes away. We would definitely stay here again.

Cute basement rental, nice location

Cute little place, well maintained, and pretty affordable for the area. Check-in was a breeze. Definitely a good location although it can be a little bit hard to get onto the road as you are near a bit of a blind corner and a lot of traffic comes through. Not too much road noise despite being just off a busy road. HOWEVER the listing claims that you may see the owners "on the property" but they are actually residing directly above you. I was hoping for a whole house - as VRBO ads state is their whole premise - but that was not the case with this location. I also travel with a toddler and didn't want to disturb anyone with the general racket that comes with a small child. The owners weren't particularly loud (no yelling, slamming doors, etc) and we didn't hear their dog bark at all but they walked around pretty early/late which may disturb light sleepers. Overall not a bad choice as long as you don't mind upstairs neighbors!

Disappointed customer

I really don't like to give bad reviews. But upon arrival we found NO toilet paper AT ALL. Mgmt co gave us a late checkout as compensation. Late as in 1:30. At 1:15 we came back to find cleaners already in our rental - with our things still unpacked; incl medication & jewelry. We didn't even have a chance to use the bathroom - it had already been cleaned. The cleaners literally left when we did. This was a very disappointing experience. I asked for the cleaning fee to be waived as compensation, but was denied.

Too Expensive for What it Is

Although this property is listed as pet friendly, I did not find out until 5 days before my trip that pets cannot be left unattended on the property. Additionally, there is an extra cost of $10-0 per pet. The host did not communicate with me in a timely way when I sent a message that I could not take my pet with me on the running event my family and I were signed up for. I had to go through VRBO customer service to get a response. Upon my family's arrival, the door code did not work. We all stood on the small deck trying to get help with entry. It took several minutes and multiple messages to the host before getting a working code. The property is along a hillside on one side and an extremely busy street on the other. My family and I wanted to use public transportation to get into Portland. As the street is too unsafe to walk along or cross, we took the bus (bus stop very near the property) to go toward Beaverton to a transfer station and then head back in the correct direction to get to our scheduled activities in Portland. As per the listing, I enquired about an early check-in at 2:00 PM. I was offered either a free early check in at 3:00 or pay $60 for a check in at 2:00. This host knows how to make money. The day before check-out, I received automated messages to ask about options to check out late. no, thank you. Although the property is pet friendly, there is nothing about it that is good for pets. There is not a grassy area or running area at all for a dog.

If you need good lighting or a firm mattress, look elsewhere

The old adage, "you get what you pay for" comes to life in this very reasonably priced basement apartment. The good: Strong water pressure, you feel surrounded by trees when you look out the windows, clean, big bathroom, sizable bedrooms with large closets, fast WiFi that supports multiple devices at a time, responsive customer service from iTrip, very convenient location to Forest Park, the Arboretum, downtown, etc. And despite the fact that the unit is right off of the always busy Burnside Road, if you keep your windows shut you actually can't hear the road noise. The bad: My husband and I didn't sleep much because the beds are EXTREMELY soft and the pillows are EXTREMELY hard. For us, that was a lethal combination. Sleeping in the same bed made the bed almost sag in the middle (we are not overweight), so for 3 of our 4 nights we had to sleep in separate bedrooms. The other issue with sleep is that (as the posting says) there is no temperature control in the unit. Because we prefer to sleep in a cooler temperature we had a situation where our windows were all open to lower the temperature while the heat was on to raise it. It felt inefficient, to say the least. The other major issue was the living room area...There are two smaller couches, neither of which is particularly comfortable. The room would be better off with a small sectional in that space. The lighting in the living room was also an issue -- When you're in a basement apartment you need A LOT OF GOOD OVERHEAD LED LIGHTING to make the space feel happy, but there was no space in the apartment where we could even get enough lighting for a decent WebEx call for work. We ended up needing to just shut off our cameras. All in all, the stay was just okay. The unit was clean, as pictured, and a great price for a 2 bedroom. Unfortunately, because we couldn't sleep the whole time and because WebExes were really difficult given the lack of good lighting in any of the rooms (except the bathroom) this place gets a 3 star rating.

Great way to explore Uptown Portland

Great place to stay for us. We mixed caring for elderly parent in hospital with a little sight seeing. Amazingly close to Washington Park and Pittock Mansion as well as within 2 mile radius of great restaurants and tasting rooms. Close to Legacy Good Samaritan hospital which saved us so much travel time between Roseburg and Portland. Condo was very clean, quiet, and had everything needed for the weekend stay including separate bedroom for my mother-in-law. The stairs getting down to the entry were a bit tricky for her with her knees but she managed very well with the handrail. Will stay again when we can explore and enjoy this area of Portland a bit more.

Nestled in the Woods yet Minutes Away

In the hills, minutes away from Washington Park, yet close to downtown Portland this location is perfect. This location met our expectations, from morning walks in the International Rose Test Garden in Wash Park followed by easily accessible excursions in the Portland area. The unit is clean, well maintained, with an efficient, well-equipped kitchen. Beds are very comfortable. On a two-week trip, we thought we’d get by without laundry facilities. Should have known better, hence, the only downside for us was no laundry facilities. Support from iTrip team is excellent. Prompt responses to every text and note posted to the VRBO website. For example, the BBQ Grill ran out of Propane Gas, and it was replaced the next day. In summary, a Five-star review!
