Just 3 minutes or 1.7 miles to downtown Highlands this beautiful impeccably outfitted mountain cabin offers an eccentric floor plan with exquisite Mountain Views from multiple vantage points including the sun porch and deck. Enveloped in native trees and rhododendron with abundant privacy while still being only moments from all Highlands has to offer Beautiful large mountain cabin. On the main level you will find the spacious master suite with king bed, en-suite bath with stone shower, laundry space and work space. Down the hallway you will find a fully outfitted chefs kitchen with breakfast bar which seamlessly flows to a beautiful living room with buttery leather sofa and couch, dining room table with spectacular views, all anchored by a stunning and realistic gas log fireplace. As your journey continues you pass a convenient half bath before descending the staircase to the lower part of the home. Immediately to your left at the bottom of the stairs you will step down into a beautiful glass screen room with gorgeous Mountain View's, an additional large dining table, comfortable seating, flatscreen tv and wood burning fireplace. As you head back you will face an additional seating area where you can enjoy a game of chess, or watch tv. Then to your right there is a full bath. Then step down to a queen bedroom with flatscreen tv. En-suite to this bedroom is a kitchenette with a microwave, keurig and sink for your convenience. Through the kitchenette is a door accessing the wood burning fire-pit. Head back out through the sitting area and step down to the third bedroom with king bed and en-suite bathroom with stone shower. The bathtub in the bathroom is not operational and the sauna is not available for guest use. The spiral staircase to the master bedroom from this area has been sealed off at the top for guest privacy.

Beautiful property and convenient to downtown! The kitchen was very well appointed with dishes, appliances, cookware, etc. The outside landscaping was gorgeous!I would definitely go back and highly recommend this as a fabulous vacation experience!

This lovely home was my idea of a mountain home - wood, stone, windows, fireplaces, decks and incredible views. The beds were top of the line. The kitchen was the best stocked rental kitchen I have ever stayed in. We were within 2 miles of everything we would want and there was plenty of great hiking a short distance away. The host was very accommodating. We had one issue with a door lock and she was there within 10 minutes for a prompt resolution. I highly recommend this property and hope I have the opportunity for a return trip one day.

We loved staying at this property! The house was so unique and cool. The views were beautiful and we spent alot of time outside on the porch. This house is perfect for a family and we will mark it as a favorite to hopefully come back to!

Heaven in Highlands

You heard me right: Heaven on Earth in North Carolina! Our stay at this property was brilliant for a variety of reasons. The one that stands out the most is the hospitality and responsiveness of the property management company. We worked with Holly and she was an absolute delight. Our first correspondence was regarding check-in and she was extremely prompt to convey an opportunity to check in early. We really appreciated that. Upon arrival, we discovered we need firewood for one of the two fireplaces in the house. I messaged Holly and, again, she delivered - we had a truck delivering our firewood within an hour. Amazing! With regard to the house, it was wonderful. Peaceful and full of character, the property was a perfect match for our need of a restful, relaxing vacation. The views were awesome and the home was stocked with everything you need for a complete stay. Finally, the home enjoys multiple living areas which allow guests to conveniently congregate as they wish. On several occasions, the guys would hang out downstairs, while the ladies sat around the upstairs fireplace. It was the perfect configuration or a perfect holiday vacation. Many thanks to the owner and Galax Hospitality Group for making our holiday special.

Thanksgiving getaway

The home is beautiful and well decorated. The owners have provided most things that one would need for a vacation. The upstairs fireplace is not wood burning/the sunroom fireplace is wood burning. We enjoyed our stay except for ending up dealing with a terrible stench that suddenly developed on night 2 of our stay. Unfortunately, nothing was done to get rid of the smell. We were given the suggestion by a plumber to pour water in the non-functioning whirlpool drain to try and get rid of the smell. Didn’t work. Smell continued until we left on day 4. Sad that this beautiful property is being affected by some sort of apparent sewage issue. The management company said they have tried to find the problem with no results. We were not able to sleep downstairs the last night because the smell was so bad. By the time we left, the smell was wafting throughout the house 😫. I hope the issue is found and fixed because we really loved this house.

Disappointing experience

This property has potential for a five star rating. The location is great with spectacular views. The home is beautifully decorated with high end finishes, appliances, and furnishings. The kitchen is very well appointed with everything you could possibly need. The home was very clean and comfortable. Everything you want in a rental property and more than you find in most. There are a few things not mentioned in the description that would be important to some renters. There is an open spiral staircase connecting the upstairs master to the lower level bedrooms. It is blocked off with cords so you can not use it but opens directly into the upstairs master. You can hear the guests staying in the lower level very clearly . Closets are also an issue. Very minimal in lower bedrooms and the closet in the master bedroom upstairs was small and had shoes and other household items stored in it. A suggestion that would make the experience better would be to provide written instructions on how to operate the heating and cooling system, TV, and information on the nearest grocery store . Those suggestions are minor points and their absence can be overlooked. What we could not excuse is the odor of sewer gas. We did not notice it when we arrived. As a matter of fact we all commented on how good the home smelled. A very pleasant air freshener was obvious but not over powering. As time went on the air freshener scent dissipated and we began to notice the sewer odor. It seemed to come and go and was not present in every room. We overlooked it the first day but on the second day we called the management company. Holly responded with an apology and a long explanation of all the efforts the owner had undertaken to correct the problem. Obviously the problem continues. We stayed in the home for three days and the sewer odor was present off and on all three days. Guests don't need to hear how hard you tried to fix it and be told to keep bathroom doors closed to contain it and that it isn't harmful just a nuisance. The problem needs to be corrected.

Great views near town

Everything was just as described. We enjoyed having two fireplaces. Beds comfortable and kitchen well stocked with all you will need. Close to town was a big plus!! Communication with property manager was a plus as well. Hope to visit again!!

Absolutely amazing

Our family had such an amazing visit at this property. The views were just incredible and the house was so spacious. It felt even bigger than in the photos! It was really well located also, close to downtown highlands and not far from some of the well known scenic hikes/trails/waterfalls. The property manager was super responsive and friendly as well. Would definitely recommend this home to anyone wanting a luxury getaway. We were impressed!

Charming and lovely

This home is very pretty and well equipped for visitors! We appreciated the K cups and all the little touches. It was a very relaxing stay! The only suggestions we would make is to have the owners make up a notebook with instructions and suggestions. We never did figure out how to operate the heating/AC system both upstairs and down. And we could not figure out the televisions either. But we enjoyed ourselves immensely and Appreciated every moment

Great house and location

Beautifully Decorated. Comfortable beds. Love the downstairs glass room with fireplace makes you feel like your sitting outside. Great two levels everyone has plenty of space to get away to. With that being said only odd part is the master bedroom has a open circle staircase to the downstairs master bedroom that you can hear everything. Just odd if you don’t want to hear the other couple you are with! Would still stay here though for sure! Great location to town and to hikes! Lovely just to stay home as well very cozy!
