This will be our first 1 star review. We should have listened to the previous reviews regarding the cleanliness and poor condition of this property. We always find the good in places we stay, although we struggled with this property.
Check-in instructions were provided well ahead of time and everything was clean and set-up for a great long weekend trip. The kitchen was well stocked with every appliance, utensil, trash bags, paper towels, coffee, ... everything was in good condition too. This is a great cabin for a large group, plenty of space for everybody to spread out and sleep comfortably. The road to the cabin is quite bumpy and off-road driving, if you drive a small/low car you may not make it in - bring a larger vehicle if you can. Other reviews mention things were not clean, this was NOT the case - the cabin was in great shape when we showed up. The pool table needs re-surfacing, but we still had fun with it. Great stay!! Would return!!
Hot tub was not cleaned prior to our arrival, dead animal remains next to hot tub thinking it was a possum but was to far gone to tell for sure... It had been there for quite some time, made the entire lower level of the cabin smell terrible.. Was not a fan of cameras on the decks and outside areas if you don't trust people don't rent cabins.... We spent our first couple hrs there cleaning and trying to get the smell out of the cabin with no luck... upper level a/c would not work had to locate breaker box and reset breaker ourselves property manager would not answer email, text, or phone call... once we got it to come on it still would not cool the cabin during the day below 80.... Beautiful cabin and location just needs better management!!

The property location would be great if they would fix the giant potholes leading to the cabin.
We travel with a group of friends and family. One of our favorite things to do in the evenings is play competition pool with each other. We were shocked at the condition of this table, sticks, and cue balls.
The pool table had gouges in the felt in several places and drinks were spilled all over it, and was stained badly. The 2 sticks were in bad shape, and the cue balls had chunks out of them. We could not believe how bad it was. It was definitely not in any shape to play a decent game on.
The pots and pans were so disgusting that we were not able to prepare a decent meal in the cabin.
Upon arrival, we had to clean the porches, chairs, table, and sink before anyone could sit outside. It was filthy! We found a broken broom on another cabin porch that was connected to this cabin and did the best we could to clean all the pollen, leaves, spider webs and bugs.
I would never recommend this property to anyone and we definitely will not return.
For the amount of money we paid for this cabin, we did not enjoy our stay and will not ever stay at any Hilltop cabins again. The cleanliness of the cabin was very subpar. All of the dishes, utensils, cookware we used had food on them from previous guess. The icemaker in the game room has mold. There SEVERAL light switches throughout the cabin and we spent over an hour trying to figure out which light switches controlled what. Nothing is labeled and there are multiple three-way switches. This seems like a minor issue, however, we could not figure out how to turn on the outdoor stairwell lights in the evening and one of our friends got severely injured and had to be taken to the emergency room. I reached out to the management immediately at 9:45 pm and did not receive a response until the next morning and all they said was ‘sorry to hear that’. I tried to reach them via text and email several times before checking out so we could discuss this incident with them and they did not return any of our text messages or emails. They will be getting an absolutely horrible review from all eight of us. This was our first time ever booking a cabin through VRBO and unfortunately, it looks like it will be our last.
We had a great time and super comfy. More than plenty of room and secluded.
