We enjoyed our stay. The furnishings were not great. The shower/bathtub needs to be completely redone. It shows a small beach which is no longer there. Ken was a very helpful host.

Thank you for staying, Elaine. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Sea Palm Condos 5E. We appreciate your feedback regarding the furnishings and the shower/bathtub, and we will certainly take it into consideration for future improvements. We apologize for any inconvenience regarding the beach, and we are pleased to know that Ken was a helpful host during your stay. We hope to welcome you back for another enjoyable stay in the future!
We were in Fort Walton Beach for a baseball tournament. This place was a GREAT stay for our family! Clean, good location, organized check in and check out, peaceful location on the Sound. Close enough to everything but far enough away for peace. The pool was a nice perk and also the waterfront fishing right outside the sliding doors. Don’t let the outside view of the buildings deter you this condo was very nice. Would definitely stay again!

Thank you for the review. These are older condos and the exterior design shows that. The inside is fully updated as you noted.

Thank you for your review. This hidden gem does have a nice view of the sound at a great value.
This place was perfect for my family of 4. The view was great!! The location was great! They gave us plenty of towels. It was clean did not have any odors at all. The washer and dryer was a big plus as well. You will not be disappointed at all. Even the people at the pool were super nice. Definitely will be back here next year.
for a family more bath towels and washcloths are needed, some of the pans, skillet need to be replaced as they had rust in them, we like to cook, one ceiling fan and light in living room did not work, other than that it was comfortable. the beds were nice, the decor was nice.

Hi:
We checked on the items mentioned in your review (you didn't call to let us know anything was amiss) and we found the fan and light to be in working order and the pans and pots to be in good order. We do provide on set of towels per guest and this condo has an onsite washer/dryer if you need to wash anything. I hoep that helps.

Thank you for staying. This is a no smoking condo. We do have an issue with the condo next door in which the disabled vet living next door smokes heavily. We are working to find a permanent solution to the issue, but it is taking time. We do have a high-quality HEPA filter that runs constantly and the issue is isolated to the entry part of the condo (it's not in the bedrooms).
Nice enough place. I might stay there again. Nothing fancy and it makes no claim to be fancy. Very adequate. I have been renting off and on in the area for the past thirty years when traveling to see family. Stayed in many locations in the area, from Destin to Crestview and everywhere in between, most often staying at Destin West Condos on Okaloosa Island. This was a short notice trip on my part. There are nicer properties to choose from in the area if you have time to find one, especially since the fees make the nightly published price double the cost of the base rate. $421 in fees alone is a bit steep in my opinion. The base price was lower than everyone else, but the total out the door price was not. Many who rent properties on these services do this, not sure what the deal is there, just make the price the price instead of piling on after a base rate which seems baseless in the end, as it is not near the amount ultimately paid out. I was refunded the pet deposit when I advised I did not have a pet stay with me. I very much appreciate that. I have no complaint about the place. ALL That said, the condo was very much as advertised and perfect for my needs. Definitely nicer inside than the exterior. I would suggest the owners of the property invest in updating the entire property. Repave the parking lot and come up with some parking for the occasional guests. I do not think the building it has had a revamp outside, since it was built, probably fifty years ago or more. Final point: I did enjoy and like the space overall. Location was also perfect for me. I am confident others would find it a good choice if wanting to be near the water and central to Fort Walton Beach. Lastly, Ken the property manager was quick to respond when I communicated during my stay and I do believe had we had issues they would have been quickly dealt with, so no concerns with the management. Fortunately, there were no issues, all was smooth sailing.

Thank you for the candid review. Sea Palms was built in the 1970s, so it has that look on the outside. As you noted, the inside is updated and modern. Outside improvements are controlled by the HOA.
The fees are not included in the daily rate because those fees are not variable. They are fixed fees that cover expenses like cleaning, credit card processing charges and, if you have a pet, the extra clean after a pet stay. We do charge a small administrative fee to help cover people costs as well. This is the only charge you might avoid by staying in an owner-managed property. Since these fees are fixed, the longer the stay, the less per day they cost.
We do charge the pet fee upfront and asked to be notified (this is disclosed when booking) so we can refund the fee if not bringing a pet. When we did it the other way, people would bring their pets and not tell us.
This condo has a nice view of Santa Rosa Sound. You can sit on the patio and enjoy your coffee while taking in the view.
Loved the location and the condo. Only problem was that it reeked of cigarette smoke - we had to air it out everyday. If I had not brought an air purifier we would not have been able to stay there.

Thank you for your review. We are aware of this issue as this is a no-smoking condo. We are trying to resolve the issue as the smell is coming from the other condos to which this one is attached. It is generally isolated to the kitchen area when you first walk in.
Thank you for staying. We try to make our guest comfortable. This is a great place to stay if you are here for work or just don't want to be on the island, yet want to be close to the beach.
We chose this place for our first extended winter stay in a warmer climate! It’s a really cute place. Clean and well decorated. It sits right on the water for a wonderful water view. A nice patio allows for sitting outside and soaking in the sun. A few things could be added or adjusted to make it more comfortable. Definitely a bigger kitchen trash can! More silver ware, dish towels/cloths and a can opener and kitchen scissors would be an added bonus! The double bed in the bedroom was very comfortable but our guest complained about the bunks beds being noisy and uncomfortable. Overall, our stay was great and the property manager was very helpful!
We enjoyed our stay here for a week. Right on the waterway and lots of boat activity. Loved it was pet friendly and on the bottom floor with great views. Thanks!
While we did not spend a lot of time at the condo during our short stay, it was clean, up to date, and sat with a pretty view of the bay.
While we had slight confusion on how to use the code lock (user error), the property manager was available at a late hour over the phone to ensure we got in. Walking in, the condo was very clean, neat, and pleasing to the eyes. Great first impression. We were able to enjoy one of the commentary fun activities that come included. The dolphin/snorkeling tour was one of our favorite activities.
I'd highly recommend this condo, but I do have two critiques:
1. This first critique is the main reason my overall rating is not a 5. We spent most of our time at the condo sleeping and the bed in the single bed room was not very comfortable. A more comfortable bed would have made this stay nearly perfect. If you do upgrade down the road, a comfy king sized bed would this couple's recommendations.
2. My second critique and tip for other guests is not a deal breaker but something to watch for. When you step off the back door towards the bay, there are cinder blocks to make another sort of step. The problem is the depth is not big enough to see nor big enough for a small ladies foot to evenly step down. My first time out the door I fell and twisted my ankle and it was sore the remainder of the trip. I nearly fell a second time at night. I understand that the blocks were probably put there so the step down from the door wasn't as far, but I think they made it worse off.
We had a great stay! Thank you!

Thank you for your stay. Bed comfort is subjective. Was it too hard or too soft? There is a topper on the bed to increase comfort. We do plan to replace this with a larger bed in the near future.
The step outside the sliders has been there for a long time and is solid. I have never received a complaint about that but will monitor and address if it becomes a problem.
Perfect stay for our time in Destin. Great location outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown Destin but close enough to all of the beaches. Highly recommend and would stay again.
Stayed here a few years ago & the renovation is a nice one. Air conditioner made constant rumbling noise; forgot to address it but not a deal breaker. Great place to stay if you don't want the headache of driving into Destin.
We (2 adults, 1 teen) stayed in this property in March. It was very clean and the property was roomy enough for 3 people to not be on top of each other. The master br bed was uncomfortable and I communicated this to the property manager. The next day he delivered a gel topper for the bed with news that the owners planned to purchase a king size bed for the unit (not during our stay but it was nice to know the feedback was received by the owners). The view of the bay was lovely and we enjoyed time out on the patio. We brought our dog (standard poodle) and there was room for her to run and enjoy the bay view with us. The property manager was very communicative and helpful. The only “complaint” (and it’s more like a minor inconvenience) is the entrance to the property is awkward (we passed it and had to u-turn several times before we got used to it). Other than that it was a nice, relaxing stay.
