Built in 2019, this guest house sits beside the Sea Lion Luxury Retreat, perched on the hillside with panoramic ocean and Olympic Mountain views. With private beach access just steps away, Owl’s Nest offers a truly unforgettable Vancouver Island experience.

This was a fantastic place with great views for myself and my family. Awesome location with so many things to do in the area. The hosts were great and were quick to respond to our questions. Would highly recommend to anyone who comes to this part of the island.

Our family of 5 with teenage kids loved our time here. Spending time by the fire, watching the ships passing, beach-combing, and exploring each day was exactly what we hoped for. Outdoor sitting areas are perfect for summer mornings and the sunset views will make you want to upgrade your camera.Be prepared for a steep gravel driveway and a narrow eroding walk to the beach. The space is incredibly clean and well set up with everything you need.

This property was exceptionally clean and had an excellent view of the ocean and Olympic Mountains. It is centrally located for exploring the Sooke to Port Renfrew area as well as not being too far to downtown Victoria and the Saanich Penisula (Butchart Gardens etc).

My wife and I stayed at Owl's Nest three nights with our dog. The cabin was nicely furnished and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped. It was conveniently located, less than 15 minutes from the restaurants in Sooke, We enjoy long walks and did find a trail around the property. Instructions at the cabin said that the lawn area beyond the larger house was for people staying there, and that limited our access to the beach. The driveway is very rough and could really use some grading. We had to be careful walking as well as driving on it.

We had a wonderful stay at this vacation home. The ocean view was absolutely stunning—something we looked forward to every day. The place was quiet, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing. Lovely place to stay with beautiful ocean views, very well stocked kitchen and bathroom products. Good selection of board games/cards for a quiet evening in and there are lots of recommendations from the host on good local spots to eat and places to go.As per other reviews, the driveway is very steep and unpaved, perhaps not suitable for small cars.The suite was very hot upon arrival due to the intense sun coming through the skylight but great ventilation and cooled quickly once the windows were open for a short while. The suite is designated as pet friendly but the check in instructions requested pets must not be in bedrooms or on furniture (completely understandable from a cleanliness perspective) which leaves very little space for the pets to actually be in.Very friendly communication from Leonard, would happily stay here again.

The views were amazing and the beds were super comfortable. The two suits are not connected however you have to go outside and around the building to get to one of the bedrooms which is fine. Some issues with the wifi but that was eventually resolved with the host. Appeared to be pet friendly and the kitchen was well equipped although some of the dishes could have been cleaner

Great location (we went to French Beach, China Beach and rode our bikes on the Galloping Goose up to Leechtown all in one day). Very clean and modern. Had everything we needed. Nice rocky beach accessible from the property.

Property is cute, nicely situated with gorgeous views. Kitchen well stocked with utensils and dishes. While it’s nice to have the two separate suites, unfortunately, there is no inside access between them. You must go outside and around to enter either. Thoughtful touches such as candles, binoculars, blankets for the outside seating. Might want to consider a lantern or some form of battery powered lighting for power outages (which did occur while we were there). Wifi didn’t work and we spent some time trying to get it up and running. In the end, we wound up being given the code for the wifi at the big house, which was spotty at best. Also, in the Owl’s Nest, the second bedroom has a loft containing the hot water tank and some other unit. A click-clunk noise is emitted from some part of this system intermittently, which is barely noticeable in the day, but definitely disruptive in the night. And somehow it continued, even with the power outage!Work is being done to clear the area of invasive broom plant, which was a bit disruptive our first two days. However, it made it easier for us to see the rabbit, raccoon, and two black bears that wandered across the property. Lots of wildlife and bird viewing! All in all, we had a good stay and a relaxing ladies’ weekend!

Great location for exploring the area! Clean property and beautiful views! The host was communicative throughout the entire process. Grocery stores, restaurants and coffee (definitely check out Shirley Delicious!) were all just a few minutes away when needed.
