Tucked away on 92 rolling acres in the scenic Bighead River Valley, the Bruce Trail runs along our southern horizon and Georgian Bay can be seen from a-top our northern hill. The Georgian Triangle activities are easily reached - Collingwood, the Beaver Valley or Owen Sound. Within 30 mins there is every kind of entertainment for both the outdoor enthusiasts and movie buff.
Meaford has many attractions. Walk around the picturesque Marina, visit the harbour side Museum and explore The Net Shed to find that elusive best book (weekends only, by donation).
The Georgian Trail, a former railway track, provides an easy walk or bike ride towards Thornbury. The Bighead River Conservation area and John Muir Trail or Beautiful Joe Park are both results of Meaford history.
Keady Market every Tuesday 8am holds a Livestock Auction and Flea Market is 45 mins west.
Tobermory can be reached for a days excursion up the Bruce Peninsula.
Golf courses are within easy reach.

Just stay home & choose a book from our extensive library, pull up a Muskoka chair and settle to read on the deck, in the walled garden, or on the grass under a tree. Stroll down to the pond for a quick dip, sit by the creek or walk the trails. Buckets, spades, toys, board games & puzzles all available.
Watch the birds attracted by our cottage gardens, orchard and bird feeders.
Country comforts in an off-grid, self sustained environment supply restorative peace and the house is pleasantly quiet with a relaxed atmosphere. The decor is eclectic and comfort rules, this is not a tailored or styled home it is a “pull up a dog and read in comfort” sort of a place designed to take full advantage of the peace and tranquility of the surroundings. Guests have reported sleeping better than usual in our comfortable beds, far away from city noise and light pollution.
There are nooks and crannies to enjoy both inside and out to mix or find a private spot.
You have the whole house to yourselves. The upper floor has the queen bedroom, king bedroom, library and bathroom. The main floor has an en-suite queen bedroom, kitchen, living room and screened porch. All the outside areas - deck, patio, fire pit and walled garden are for your enjoyment. (The utilities are in the mudroom which has another 3 piece bathroom adjoining)
Outdoor fire pit. Wood fired sauna.
The large country kitchen and butler pantry are fully equipped.
Meals can be served in the country kitchen or the screened porch which is an indoor/outdoor space and lovely for summer meals.
