We selected this property because it was able to accommodate our group and the amenities it provided. We were interested in the outdoor seating, hot tub, kayaks and the nearby facilities of the pool and golf. We were disturbed by the previous renters reviews about the place. I contacted the owner and she assured me that there would be no problem. She lied. There were no kayaks and none were ever delivered even after further conversations, there was a half a roll of toilet paper there. The house was not clean. There was no house key to lock the residence. She eventually had someone come by to supply one. It took some effort to get the hot tub functional. Tried to reach her through the message board and phone calls. She stopped answering her phone altogether and stopped replying to requests on the message board two days into the vacation. Was left to deal with anything that came up on our own. The location was great. The local amenities were great. If the host provided what she was advertising and tried to answer our concerns the stay would have been a much better experience. Would not recommend dealing with this host.
Beautiful views, nicely decorated, nice layout but...the key did not work in front door, had to leave property unlocked for entire visit (host aware) oven handle and door fell off ...tripping hazard and unable to cook, no propane, no instructions for hot tub therefore unable to use, overwhelming amount of odorous garbage on side of cottage, broken toys under deck, screen door broken, no screens on some windows therefore unable to open to cool cottage down, no outdoor lights, when arrived still garbage in cans from last renters and used food in fridge, had to go out to buy toilet paper/paper towel/dish clothes/dish soap/hand soap, etc. Host did not address any issues for us while there. We were given a heads up that kayaks and paddle boards were unavailable for the week. No patio furniture. Offered a refund for the kayaks/patio furniture - she let us know this 5 days prior and did offer a full refund, it was too short of a notice to find another cottage for the week. Host offered a discounted.rate, stated she would etransfer money but has not as of yet. Informed that there was no wifi, cable service or DVD player the day before arriving. It was the not the experience we had hoped for at the cottage itself. Also had 3 men arrive on Saturday evening to clean the cottage but our check out was not until Sunday at 11am. No check in or check out info provided to us through the VRBO site by host.
