We had a great time at Mario’s grand old house. Perfectly located just minutes’ walk from the town centre and very comfortable. The house is spacious and clean, with great bathroom and dining facilities for larger families.
Hillside is a perfect home for family gatherings. We enjoyed having lots of space, comfortable beds and huge lounges. 2 loungerooms and 2 spa baths was an extra luxury making for a relaxed enjoyable stay for the 4 independent women who stayed and the 25 or so family members who gathered before and after the funeral. Centrally located but away from traffic noise. Easy walk into town. Gorgeous view from the balcony. Just perfect!
Family or friends group ideal. Walk to Cafe strip. Flat grass for petanque or croquet! Helpful info. Very good heating for a big house. Good kitchen for cooks. Big drive and parking areas. Showers easy to walk into mobility wise. Host respinsive.
What a great time we had at our girls weekend away in Daylesford. The house was lovely and clean and very well equipped. We didn't need anything extra! The property was a 5 minute walk to the main street so everything was close to hand. Thanks for a great stay!
Had a lovely weekend again this year. Lovely house - cosy & comfortable. Not all beds had electric blankets and one had a blanket but no cord , but that wasn’t a huge issue. There were a few ants in the pantry & dishwasher but not in plague proportions!Love the house, great position for walking into town. Plenty of space and parking. Will hopefully be back next year! Thanks Mario.
Excellent property with plenty of space, large bedrooms and lounge. However the induction hotplates and oven did not seem to work properly, took a long time to cook. Good bbq but stove inadequate for a 8 person house
What a complete delight this stunning homestead was to stay in whilst we grieved our loved one. Perfect location. Great views. Plenty of outdoor space for the dog. Lots of character. Spa's, 2 lounges. All the luxuries. Thank you.
Comfortable rooms and plenty of space to hang out and relax in. Lovely aspect from front balcony looking out over lovely Daylesford. Highly recommended Central property to town!
Excellent location, large and very comfortable home
Our group of 4 had a fabulous visit to Hillside. It was very clean and had a lovely ambience. The home is only 5 minutes from town (a flat walk which is not the case for all rentals in DayleSford!)
The house provided every comfort, large, clean, well equipped and great location. We were all warm and comfortable and able to feel 'at home'. Thank you to all concerned.
I stayed here for two nights with friends while in Daylesford. The house was as advertised, with plenty of room for our group and an excellent location just two minutes walk from the shops and restaurants. Check in was easy and the house was very well equipped. Would definitely stay again.
A well-equipped property with bags of character, well located near the main street in Daylesford with plenty of excellent local cafes and restaurants. The house is spacious with nice outdoor patios. A very pleasant stay.

Cons
House was dirty and dusty with hair on the rugs, cobwebs through out the house
Musty smell on opening the door
An empty soap dispenser in toilet hand basin (we decanted soap from one of the other bathrooms)
3 empty bottles of dish washing detergent
Recycling bin was overflowing
Rubbish bin was full
Hairdryer unsafe, did not have the safety cap on the back, hairdryer sucked up my friends hair. She lost a handful of hair

Thank you for the feedback. We were sorry to hear about the cleanliness matters. They have since been attended to and were as a result of hospitality staff shortages affecting the whole State of Victoria, including cleaning staff, due to Covid 19 in January.
