Kona stay

Three nights in Kona

Rating Details: The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was an okay experience staying in this particular property. It is a good but very basic place. Compared to my many experiences in the past, this place had minimal amenities. For example not even some tea bags or basic coffee was supplied.

Great place - risk of noisy neighbours

We stayed 4 night at this ground floor apartment in Kona. The neighbours in the apartment above us had multiple children who were constantly running back and forth with little regard to the hour - despite speaking to the property manager, nothing happened. I was recovering from the flu which made the noise difficult with my recovery. Additionally, thee toilet seat (as you enter the apartment on the right hand side) has the worst possible seat in existence. Instead of being curved outward, it is curved inward and like sitting on the ends of the letter C. It played havoc with my hamstrings to the point that I would use the other toilet as the pain of sitting on this one was unbearable! Please fix this!Otherwise a nice place to stay with a parking spot etc. The weather wasn't great so the beach was closed.I would only go again if the toilet seat was fixed. The pain it caused lasted several days and no amount of money is worth spending to be caused that level of pain and dare I say injury!

Missing soap for diswasher. (None.) One frying pan should be thrown out. No bin for recyclables. Blind not working, used boggie boards to block out sun.

3.5/5 Pros: The location of this property was great, right by a beach, and not far from all activities in Kailua-Kona. It was well stocked with all dishes and cooking utensils. It had all kinds of beach toys(boogie boards, masks and snorkels,, coolers, towels, flippers) Beds were comfortable. Overall a good space. Cons: No laundry soap and when messaged managers about it they just questioned if we missed seeing it. Did not offer to rectify. Bathrooms were not well cleaned on arrival. Hair in tub. No extra full sized garbage bags for the main garbage. Hand soap watered down. No dishwasher soap or tabs. No bath mats. Overall would probably stay again. Good value for the money. Just a couple of maintenance details would make it way better.

Great close to town but quiet snorkel beach rest

Property was fantastic, and the accommodations were excellent. Beach gear was an amazing addition. Cooked and ate in most mornings and lunch to save money for big dinners out. Overall very quiet and comfortable except for the random island roosters at 530, but thats inevitable, lol. The upstairs neighbors was a little noisy Saturday evening and early Sunday, but quiet the rest of the time. Overall great place, just bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper for the chickens.place, just

Family fun trip

Fabulous location! 1 minute stroll to great snorkeling beach. Easy drive into town and to/from airport. Comfy condo for 2 couples. Nice little pool and spa. Would definitely stay here again. 😊

Good location

The condo was nice and was clean. Pool area was clean. Beware the geckos will take any opportunity to get into the condo, but they are harmless. A few minute walk from a good snotkeling beach and near to various shopping areas and restaurant.

Great base camp for families!

This was the perfect base camp for exploring the big island with a young family. Incredibly close to a good beach spot with snorkeling. Also located nicely from a lot of the Kona & Captain Cool area sights. The apartment is nice, there are extras that have been left by past guests (chairs, boogie boards, coolers). I especially appreciated having a lot of towels. I will warn you that ground floor means some of the Hawaiian natives may find their way inside (lizards and bugs, and the mongoose on the patio might take advantage of an open door but thankfully we only saw it outside). Also, the apartment above apparently has tile floors which doesn’t do any favors as far as sound dampening goes. That being said, everything was as expected and I would happily stay here again. Location is superb!

Lovely Beach Retreat

Had a wonderful 8 days in this unit. Very clean and manager was very good about returning calls. Had absolutely no problems just wanted to see if we could get in early and need trash bags. The unit served us well and the walk to the beach was only 2 minutes. We walked down every night to see the sunset. We would definitely come back to this location.

Nice place near snorkeling

Very nice and comfortable place to stay right near snorkeling beach. You’re near downtown and near Captain cook. Bed was comfortable. Has everything you need to cook inside or bbq. Pool was cold. Hot tub was nice. We enjoyed our stay.

Alot of millipeds. All over front bedroom and bathroom. Smoke alarm that started going off middle night. Difficulty disconnecting. Jad to climb up on a table no ladder and i have a total knee replacement.

Birdsong privacy

This very well stocked unit gives wonderful privacy and a relaxed island vibe. Ground floor means ease with both luggage and shopping. Best of all are truly lovely garden views with NO buildings or people in sight at all. The layout is almost like two masters separated by the living area. Again, more privacy. And the owner was very responsive and nice. Highly recommend.

Hale Makolea 11

This was a beautiful, wonderfully furnished, unit. It was very comfortable and nicely secluded on the ground floor back corner of the building. The property is very clean, the pool is refreshing and best of all it is just a half block from Kahalu’u Beach Park with excellent snorkeling and beautiful sunsets. Great start into vacation

After the arrival in Kona from our 24 h flight in the evening, it was a wonderful experience to come to the apartment and swim in the pool of the house. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast on the shady and cool terrace. Afterwards it was nice to have to walk only a few steps to the beach to snorkel and experience beautiful fish. Mahalo!

Great for what we needed

Stayed here for a full week. Overall, great place with a good amount of space. The Cali king bed was amazing and so were the pillows, we slept really well the whole time. The whole place felt very spacious for hawai’i. The location is great if you want to stay across the street from a cool little beach to snorkel & surf but not great if you want to be walking to restaurants at night (no sidewalks and the closest plaza is a 20min walk), though it’s just a short drive around the corner. They had some awesome extra things like snorkels/masks, fins, nice beach chairs, boogie boards, coffee, pots/pans, etc. but then lacked some other small things like dishwasher soap, extra trash bags, laundry detergent, pepper, etc. There also wasn’t shampoo/conditioner (there was a sign saying they offered single ones but we only got one thing of body lotion left for us) so make sure to bring it. As for the bugs, I grew up in a tropical place so you’ll never fully get away from them being on the first floor and we were ok with that but there were some dead bugs around that could’ve been cleaned up. A/C worked well but was in the center room only so can’t really close your doors at night but that didn’t bother us and ultimately was plenty cool at night (this is how it goes for AC in most of Hawai’i, FYI). Internet was fast and we had no issues working from here. Patio was a nice touch, very spacious and private. Overall, would recommend this place!
