Enjoy a quick stroll over to Big Bear Village for shopping, dining, and entertainment options or grab a bike or kayak from local Get-Boards and hit the lake for the day!

Entering your charming cabin you are immediately greeted with mountain ski lodge vibes, hardwood floors, and knotty pine accents within your cozy living room that is ready for you to relax around the toasty wood burning fireplace and pop on a movie on the flat screen TV with hi speed WIFI internet provided for your enjoyment. (Guests must have their own accounts to enjoy Streaming Services.)

The chef of your group will love the freshly remodeled kitchen available and stocked for your home cooked meal preparations, ordained with new stainless appliances, cookware, and a custom stone breakfast bar with stools to ensure you can dine in comfort. Being a single level chalet you will have convenient access to both sleeping quarters and your hallway full bathroom, both are made up for your group's arrival with warm linens, blankets, pillows, and fresh towels for your visit.

Venturing outside you will find a relaxing patio and backyard area, completely fenced and very quiet. Enjoy relaxing in the evenings and grilling up your freshly caught dinner from the lake on the propane BBQ under the pines. This is also the perfect spot to sip your first cup of coffee in the morning among the birds before you head out for fun for the day. Marin Getaway is fully furnished from head to toe with your vacation stay in mind, pairing the ultimate downtown location with the necessities needed for an amazing vacation to the mountains.

Nice place Close to village

The cabin is cozy, clean and walking distance to the village. It also had a fenced in yard which was great for the Corgis. We had a very nice time and would stay there again.

Cozy cabin getaway

The cabin was great for our family of four and 2 small dogs. It felt rustic and cozy but a bit too dark for me. I loved the fenced in yard for the dogs. The basic amenities were enough for what we needed. The place was clean and comfortable.

We were working an event and needed a place for one night. We appreciated being able to check in early, bring our small dog, and book for just one night. Nice Getaway Cabin

Comfy rustic cabin on quiet side street. Close to village, shops, restaurants and lake. Very clean, kitchen is reasonably well provisioned. Good internet and streaming TV. The King bed was comfortable and appreciated. Central gas heater is a bit loud, but relatively effective at reaching the back rooms. Couch and chairs are a bit old and could use update. Fireplace was well used during our snowy stay. Friendly neighbor shoveled our driveway!

Excellent stay.

Everything was great. The only critique I have is that the living room furniture is not very comfortable. The sofa is getting old and the cushions are broken down. Not a deal breaker, but could use to replaced/refurbished. We will return to this property. You should give them a chance at your business.

Jeep weekend

We had a nice weekend in Big Bear. The property was nice. There did seem to be what looked liked feathers on the carpet in the living room. I am guessing they came from the pillows on the sofa. Keep in mine if you coming up in the summer there is no AC but a few box fans a provided. The only real complaint would be the bed room pillows where paper thin and on one for each person was provided.

Big bear

The place was very smoky upon entering. The burnt smell would not go away with the windows open. The place is not bright as advertised. It is very gloomy. Definitely needs an update! The grounds are not well kept!

Great location!

Great and spacious cabin within walking distance from the Village with shops, food and shopping. Check-in process was odd since it’s a keyless entry. Kitchen supplies was bare. No garbage bag for your no recyclables but you’re expected to take your own trash out. Coffee maker available but no filters provided. Quiet for the most part. Heater does not reach the back bedrooms just FYI.

Cute place but needs some TLC

Enjoyed the property for the most part. Love the outdoor area for our dog. The house itself is very drafty, especially under the front door, and while there is a pad for the draft, a simple plate attached to the door would be better. Heating system could be upgraded. My biggest gripe is the kitchen. You really need to include utensils, spatula, big, spoons, etc. I had to use the spatula from the barbecue to flip my eggs in the morning. Also, there was not a skillet to cook my eggs… I had to use a sauce pan! So the combination of this long, huge spatula trying to flip eggs in a sauce pan, not good.

Nice place - but beware of fees!

I have no complaints about the property as it was pretty much what I expected. It was the reservation process that I found disagreeable. The property is advertised for a reasonable daily rental fee. But what I disliked was the fact that the rental fees were not disclosed because the listing indicated some sort of technical error. After booking (which was “not refundable”) I was sent an email confirming my reservation for three nights. In that email was a listing of several fees which more than doubled the total cost of my stay. And quite honestly, if I had known the cost of those fees up front I would have gone in another direction.

So close to perfect

The cabin is a great size, ample space while still feeling cozy. The location is great, with easy walks to both the village and the lake. Unfortunately a few things are holding us back from a full five stars. For one, we did not receive the check-in information until 30 minutes before check-in. That does not inspire confidence when you're nearing the end of a long road trip, and you don't even have the address yet. When we arrived, it looked like we had just stumbled upon a pillow fight - there were down feathers all over the couch. Not the end of the world, but not a great first impression. The cabin is lovely but there were a few details that gave us pause: loose hardware, a pretty cheap shower head. There were ants in the kitchen, and a little sign telling us that ants are to be expected. Well, I've stayed at multiple properties in Big Bear over the years, and this is the first one that had noticeable ants. They weren't a nuisance, but I really take issue with the implication that we should *expect* ants. The kitchen is barebones even by rental standards. There was a coffeemaker but no filters, and only one single-use pouch of coffee. It looked like a previous guest had just dumped the grounds in with no filter. We cleaned it, but we couldn't find coffee supplies anywhere, so we gave up. We didn't reach out to our host because I hate texting with automated message systems. Overall nice, but for the price we paid, I'd expect a little more attention to detail.

As for the condition of the home—down feathers on arrival, ants in the kitchen, and signs of wear like loose hardware and a low-quality showerhead—those details matter and should never be overlooked. We also agree that guests shouldn’t be expected to simply accept ants as normal. While mountain homes can face occasional pest issues, our goal is always to stay ahead of them through proactive cleaning and prevention. Your point about the kitchen setup is also well taken. A fully functional coffee station with filters and fresh supplies should be a basic expectation, and we’ll be reviewing our kitchen inventory to bring it up to a better standard. We truly appreciate your feedback—it helps us improve both the experience and the property for future guests. Beware - You have to do your own dishes and empty your own trash

Check in process was horrible. No chance of getting in even 2 minutes earlier than the already late check in of 4pm. I personally don't like to have to check in other than the home I am going to but got there at 3:50 to check in and did not get the text on how to enter home until 4:13pm. They were still cleaning home at 3:59pm too. Not in the listing but you have to sign a lease agreement that says you will pay $25 each if dishes not done and trash not emptied. There were only two small dish towels for our 3 night stay so you don't have any towels to dry your dishes nor is there a drying dish rack. No paper towels either. Makes no sense to me. Also check out is 10 am so gives you not much time to get packed, empty trash and do your dishes. Heater in house is a really good heater but so loud it sounds like you are sleeping with a running engine all night. Need more cooking pans too. Needed just a small sauce pan to cook eggs in but only had larger sauce pan. Other than this the home itself was cozy, warm and sufficient for our stay. Very close to town so you can walk there for dinner. Too bad it appears that this home is managed poorly because it certainly has potential.

The dishes and trash are part of the City wide regulations which are clearly listed in our House Rules however we do understand if this was missed.. (Being in such deep forest it is a city wide regulation that no trash or dirty dishes that attract wild animals to our homes be left behind by guests- we do inform you of this early and supply dish soap, sponges, towels, and trash bags for this) Our team has taken your feedback to heart and are working on improvements and updates to the cabin and will have the heater looked at to see if it can be quieted for a much better guest experience. We certainly hope to have the opportunity to host you again for a much better visit!

Pets must be acknowledged and may not be left unattended in the home. Owners must clean up after pets; subject to added cleaning fees for violations.

All homes include clean linens, and fresh bath towels for the occupancy. A kitchen with basic cookware and small starter amount of dish soap, toilet paper, and trash bags will be supplied. Paper towels, coffee filters/coffee, specialty appliances, nor condiments/spices/oils are supplied.

No Pay-Per-View Ordering in any homes.

No refunds/credits for cancellations or trip interruptions due to acts of nature, (especially snow, fire, power outages) weather, road conditions, mechanical or electrical failures, spa malfunctions, or other equipment factors beyond our control.

This is a forested mountain community home to critters- animals or insects you may encounter are spiders, moths, flies, squirrels, gophers, bears, coyotes, burro, bear, bats, etc. Our team inspects prior to arrival but cannot guarantee the home will be free of these forest critters.

We reserve the right to offer a comparable property or issue a full refund if circumstances arise that are beyond our control and your property is made unavailable for any reason.
