Wonderful, cozy and secluded place to stay during our late trip from DC to Toledo. Sadly, we were rained out of using the hot tub. A nice time regardless.
Perfect location for our touring Frank Loyd Wright homes in the area. The interior has been nicely upgraded but could use some TLC particular the front steps leading to the door.
Everything was perfect except:- Toilet did not flush well. Clogged a couple times.I had to plunge it.- the neighbor was shooting a pistol in his back yard at 5PM. That was weird. - please replace the mattress on the bed. It is well worn. Some landscape work would be nice.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Cottage! The home was well kept and clean. We utilized the spacious kitchen for cooking meals and it had everything we needed. The hot tub was the highlight! It was in good working order and hot when we arrived. The host even topped off the water for us during our stay upon our request! The cottage was conveniently located to Ohiopyle and the towns close by. We also loved that it was dog friendly and would definitely recommend!
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here in 2018, so we were already familiar with this lovely spot. It’s super close to Ohio Pyle, which is a huge plus! The cabin was nice and clean, though I think it might be time to consider replacing the carpet. We also noticed there wasn't a frying pan, which we really needed for cooking almost every meal, so we had to get a little creative there! The bedroom features a sliding glass door that leads out to the yard, but it seemed like the path could use a little sweeping. When it came to letting our dog out, we had a few options: we could either navigate toward the neighboring house, step up the wall from the bedroom, or take our furry friend to another grassy area in front of the cabin. While we were there, we found some nails scattered in the front grass, which was a bit concerning. There was also quite a bit of trash by the shed behind the carport. If we hadn't brought along our dog, I think these little issues might not have stood out as much.Despite those quirks, the cabin really did feel cozy and welcoming when we stepped inside, and I absolutely love that atmosphere. The hot tub was fantastic! I know some guests mention the proximity of the road, but with the privacy wall, we felt just fine. Plus, the cabin is set back enough that it didn’t feel intrusive at all. One of the highlights was having chocolate-covered strawberries and a cheese tray delivered for our arrival, what a treat! We’d definitely book with OVR again.

Would have been much nicer if it was more private really close to another cabin an the people were vary loud
Clean, nice, comfy beds, but needs some maintenance
The cabin was cute and VERY clean (major props on that) and the bed was comfortable, with good pillows, and there were ample towels and washcloths. Nice kitchen that is decently stocked with appliances and utensils. Hot tub was great as well. However: there are only two ceiling fans in the whole place, and they are not operable. There is no switch or remote, and the rental company even sent a guy over and he couldn't figure it out either. It would make a huge difference re: the temperature of the house. The bedroom's sliding glass door does not lock and does not have a screen; just a crowbar dropped into the track for security (which is effective, if nothing else). Bit disappointing to not be able to get fresh air in the bedroom (there are no windows). The fridge has an ice maker and water dispenser but they are not hooked up. Some of the locks and handles on the casement windows are broken, and some of the outlets do not work. Also please use caution if you bring a dog with you-- this is a dog-friendly property, but there are reactive dogs that live two doors down (they are fenced in but they will bark like crazy at your dog) and while the backyard is also fenced in, your dog can go up the stairs and onto the deck of the other property and get down to the road-- which is where large trucks from the stone quarry down the road travel at very high rates of speed. The backyard is great otherwise; you just will want to use a long leash or run.
It is not fancy, but great for the price for a short get away close to lots of hiking for me and my dog.Check in and check out were easy. I noticed a problem with the oven, but didn’t need to use it for the stay, and they were nice enough to wait to send somebody until check out day to come fix it. Internet and TV were easy to use. There was a nice intro packet to the area.Biggest complaint would be that there is no privacy barrier between the hot tub and the main road. I was looking forward to using it, but didn’t feel comfortable as a woman alone. Also, it appears it may have been acquired more recently than the adjoining properties and the actual property could use some clean up and out of all the kitchen supplies, no frying pan, so bring one if you like eggs in the morning like me. Nice surprise: there is a small nature/hiking area about a mile down the road. It was great for short early morning walks/hikes for my dog before the main events later in the day.Overall all really great for the price, but could use a couple small improvements. Would use again.
I was worried after I booked I read the reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. The location was great and the house was a very "cozy cottage" with plenty of space.
It is small but super appropriate for a nice couple get away. Listing was dead on. Very clean and hot tub was clean and enjoyable. Was cute ans cozy. Really enjoyed the Christmas tree and mantle greens and lights. If you plan to cook more than we did make sure you have all the items you need. Plenty of pots but one small frying pan. Other than that a cute and cpzy place for sure and relaxing.
We enjoyed our stay and I would consider booking again. The only negative things I found were some spiderwebs on the light fixtures/beams, but a quick dusting would take care of that. Everything else was clean and orderly. We didn't spend much time outside as our stay was late September and it was rainy, so I can't judge the grill or firepit area. The hot tub was clean and worked well.
This is a beautiful cottage that is truly cozy, well-mainained and well worth renting. The updates in this cottage are great - appliances are top-notch; the layout very good! I would, however, update the bed. We found the mattress a 3 on a scale of 5. Other than this, we highly recommend this Cozy Cottage.
I had some time saved up I needed to use up before the end of the year. I didn’t want to go to far from home but wanted to feel like I was still away. This place was perfect. It was just me and my little pup and we had a wonderful time. We just relaxed for a few days. Read a book, did some legos and went out for a nice dinner. Nothing exciting but just what I needed. The house was very clean and the kitchen was wonderful. My only suggestion is it might be time for some new bedding. It was pretty dated. The only thing that bummed me out was the fireplace. As it did have a fireplace it was electric. Most rentals I stay in have gas, i understand not trusting someone with a real fire in the unit but gas would’ve been a bit better. Definitely not a game breaker tho. Over all a great little place.
Lovely little cottage. Perfect place for a quick getaway. It was a short stay for me but would like 2 stay a little longer next time. Only thing was the fireplace was not working. It seemed like there was a small leak from the rain that may have damaged it. Overall pleased.

Quick getaway
Inside the cottage was very ‘cozy’ though outside is a bit of surprise. Hot tub was great! But it’s close to the street and very close to 2 other properties. We checked in on a Sunday and had difficulty with the lights. We did not hear back until the next day. I let them know k cup coffee maker and toaster weren’t working properly, new was brought out to us.
Terrible! The ceiling was leaking in several locations causing pooling in some areas of the kitchen. The commode was leaking around the seal when flushed. Cobwebs present on light fixtures. Limited pillows for comfort, and a single blanket not suitable for multiple visitors. Ohiopyle rentals have been lackluster in their attempt to mitigate our stay. We did not stay the 2 nights due to the water leaks.

Reviewer Comments:
Very affordable cottage in the Ohiopyle area with everything you need to feel at home. Loved the hot tub, though snow limited our usage this time. The driveway gets a little packed with two other properties sharing it, so we appreciated the car port (and recommend backing in to make getting out easier).
