The cabin was super clean, cozy, close to town, and quiet. The owner was so easy to work with from booking, to checking in, to checking out. We will definitely be staying here again.

Great place to stay...
Very clean and comfortable... We loved having the hot tub.
This place was great! It sleeps a lot of people and kind of hidden back in the trees. 10am check is really hard, but other than that we had a great time.
Great little place. Enjoyed the scenery and the wildlife. Property manager was responsive. Only thing I would suggest is have a snow shovel available, or have deck salted for safety.
Had a great time. home was close to town. had everything we needed. beds were comfortable.
would definitely stay again!!!i have owned vacation rentals, this one is a good one.

Advertised as an air conditioned property. It only has one small wall unit that barely cools one room. Sleeping was miserable because bedrooms were hot and mattresses were old and worn. Floors in kitchen felt like spots were about to fall through. Pictures of property way oversell it. It’s jus an old house that needs some major upkeep. Wouldn’t recommend it at all. We left full day early just to find something more comfortable.

Hi Kenneth, thanks for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay. After reading your comments, the homeowner wanted to share the following:
-"The mattresses in our property are less than three years old and have had limited use, primarily due to our home being a weekend destination. Therefore, they are in good condition.
-Ruidoso is a mountain town, and it's common for homes in the area to have limited or no full air-conditioning (HVAC) systems. We have not received any prior complaints from guests regarding temperature concerns, and we would have been happy to address these concerns had we been made aware of them.
-The hottest day during your stay was 84°F, but our property generally runs approximately 3°F cooler due to its location in the valley and the natural shade provided. Our main areas are equipped with a wall unit designed for 1200 square feet, ensuring comfort in common areas.
-The creaking you may have experienced is due to the nature of our mountain home, which is built on pier and beam foundations. This is consistent with the construction style of homes in the mountainous regions, and our kitchen floor is structurally sound.
Once again, we appreciate your feedback and strive to continually enhance the quality of our accommodations based on guest experiences."
Estuvimos muy agusto en la cabaña , en buena ubicación y muy limpia , cómoda y espaciosa , el jacuzzi esta perfecto , pasamos un fin de semana muy relajante
Nos encantó 👍
Cabin overall was a good experience. But nosey next door Karen neighbor came over to claim the river behind the cabin we were staying at was her private property.
We loved our time at the Great Escape! The location was perfect…super close to town but we still felt enveloped in trees at the house. The neighborhood was super quiet as well despite being so close to town. The front patio was amazing! Definitely the best part of the house. We traveled with 3 kids 2-7 and it was perfect for them as well. We got a lot of visits from deer and even saw some woodpeckers! We would definitely stay here again.
I loved this property me n my family escaped to a place were we live we don't have anything like this place me and my family's experience was incredible we loved it
Great cozy cabin, close to town but still had the mountain vibe. It’s tucked away nestled in the trees, we almost couldn’t find it …look for the sign —➡️ “The Great Escape” We traveled with 2 families with younger kids and teens and the house worked great. The Cabin was well stocked, the beds were comfy, & the huge deck & hot tub were a real treat! The Management company & owners were very responsive when we had questions. We highly recommend this cabin!
This cabin was a great place to stay, it was clean, plenty of room, the hot tub was excellent, and the wildlife was abundant for the kids to see. The tree swing was great for the kids too, they really enjoyed playing on it.
Darla was excellent to work with. I just loved the location of the cabin, just outside of midtown enough to be secluded. So much room and so many beds...perfect for a family or for just the two of you. The cabin is comfy and the decor is cute. The amenities CAN NOT be beat. Plenty of room to dance in the kitchen for no reason with Alexa playing your favorite songs. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon a few days and we kinda like dancing for no reason so this was perfect! Highly recommended and we will return.
Excelente place, location, the amenities are top shelf.
Everything working in perfect order. Clean and over stocked! The most comfortable beds, pillows and throws. Just a wonderful place.
We were so impressed with the property, the amenities, location and privacy of the entire weekend. We will be back in August of 2021 to celebrate our husband's birthdays. It was everything we needed, a restful weekend away from the craziness of this world so cozy and comfy. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your property.
