My friends and I enjoyed The Lilly House for a weekend. We had tons of space and the house and property were terrific! We would stay here again in a second.
It was a great place to stay! So very beautiful! The house was supplied with so many essentials that it made our stay that much better! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! Looking forward to staying again!
A wonderful old home with period antiques. The kitchen was large and well equipped. The front porch is a lovely place to relax after 18 holes of golf. My only suggestion would be to put more rocking chairs on the porch.
Very cool Victorian home walkable to Big Rocks Park
We stated here for a weekend to visit Big Rocks park, the square, and Dinosaur Valley Park. We loved the huge rooms and everyone had their own bathroom. We did encounter a few bugs when we first got there, but that’s likely because of the closeness to the river and area. Be prepared for a Victorian experience and you will love this place.

From the owner: "Hi Chris, we're sorry to hear that your stay didn’t meet expectations. Unfortunately, a small critter became trapped beneath the house and passed away, which caused the unpleasant odor during your visit. While this is a rare occurrence, we understand how disruptive it must have been. We’ve since had a professional pest control service address the issue. Thank you for your review—it helps us continue improving for all guests."

Our family of 9 with three kids included stayed and had a wonderful time. The bedrooms were huge and each with their own baths were like private suites. Showers had great pressure. We put the kids to bed then had the other part of the house to visit and relax. The kitchen was large and well stocked with everything needed. We didn’t cook there except a breakfast casserole but would have enjoyed doing so if we wanted. Kitchen had two dishwashers. We loved the front porch and swing. The weather was perfect and evenings on the porch were lovely. The house seemed to be about a 1930’s house but top notch and beautifully decorated. I would love to have seen it back then. The house has kept its beauty and charm but also been updated with modern appliances and conveniences. We will definitely be back and recommend
The lily house is conveniently, located to the river, Oakdale Park, and the downtown Square area. Much of the downstairs has central AC with window units in each of the four bedrooms. All bedrooms are extremely roomy and all have their private bath. The kitchen is huge and well stocked with all of the necessary, utensils, dishes, etc. Two dishwashers. Big refrigerator. Big dining room and big family room. The front porch is wonderful as the house sits high on the hill so there’s a nice breeze and a good view. The courtyard area around back is also nice. Plenty of covered parking. Lots to do in the Glen Rose area. Check out dinosaur world. we very much enjoyed our stay and would go back and do it again. It’s a wonderful property.

Friendship Weekend
It was easy to to get in at the property. But there was a lot of wasp nests everywhere. We had one person get stung. So we let the property manager know but nothing was done. No one ever answer question when emailed. The. While at the house there needed to be blackout curtains to cool it off in the rooms. Window units need to be checked. Not working correctly. Other than that we had a good stay with our friends.

-We haven't seen any wasp nests, and we do provide wasp spray for guests if they experience any issues. We will continue to monitor this.
-We experience very warm temperatures (over 100 degrees) and suggest guests leave windows and doors closed to keep the cool air inside.
We appreciate your feedback and suggestions!

Lovely but won't stay again
House was lovely, very clean and relaxing. Loved that each bedroom had a private bath and front porch was awesome. I won't rent again. Each bed was uncomfortable due to mattresses lacking support. Several awakened with awful back aches lasting most of the day. The refrigerator didn't keep things cold and worried about milk and meat keeping at appropriate temperatures. Reached out to guest contact early morning after first night, and didn't receive a response until the day after checkout. The Glen Rose and Granbury area is wonderful. I really wish I could recommend, but sadly cannot.

Hi Tricia, thank you for your review. We wanted to pass along the following feedback from the homeowners: "We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay for the most part but found the refrigerator and mattresses to be disappointing.
-We know mattress taste is subjective, so we are sorry to hear they did not meet your preferences.
-We have checked the refrigerator and it is working properly.
-We are very sorry for the lack of communication with the Guest Contact. There was a family emergency that delayed a response, but usually we are able to get back to guests right away."
