Some things to know

Overall first impression was great. The place was clean and had a lot of natural light and the location was also great. After settling in there were some issues you should be aware of if you stay here. Overall it is stocked with only bare nessecities. (Only what is in the pics for example a couch but no coffee table to put a drink when sitting, no extra blankets for colder nights and nothing but beds and end tables in the rooms) The walls are very thin. We were woken up multiple times a night by noise outside and from the renters above and around us. The other issue that was very frustrating was the shower head had very low pressure (hard to even wash the shampoo out of your hair) and the water barely got above luke warm. We often had to settle for cold showers. (I contacted Sonder and they said there was nothing they could do and recommended we take showers at a less popular time of day to solve the problem.) I don't believe that is a "solution" and it also was inaccurate as even a 2pm shower was cold. To not be able to take a warm shower was very disappointing! I have been to new orleans a bunch of times and this was place while starting off with a lot of promise didn't really deliver on it.

Place was great but

The apartment and location was great. The deal breaker for us was that the elevator was out our entire stay. We had a unit on the 5th floor. We were notified two days before our stay was to begin that the elevator had issues. After talking to other residents staying at the Sonder it turns out the elevator had been out for weeks. The initial communication to us made it sound like the elevator just went out.

New Orleans Canal street property

We stayed in this unit for 2 nights. Overall it was clean and conveniently located. The access instructions to the building were clear. Although there is an elevator, it was difficult for my elderly parents but that was not so much the unit as it is the whole set up of NOLA. We had to park on the curb and bring up our stuff and someone had to stay in the car. Lots of people milling around that made you want to lock your doors. I don't know if it was just the area or if NOLA is just that much worse than the last time I was here. ON THE UNIT: They did respond thru the app immediately to any of our concerns but the unit wasn't really set up to house us. 4 people 2 nights and only 4 towels- (They brought them up the next day) upon arrival the toilet was not flushing properly. (someone came with in about 1-2 hours and snaked it out, no more problems). They have a kitchen but the sparsest of stuff so you really can't plan to cook much. We managed. The living room is tiny and although that's not too much of an issue we wished they either had 2 of the small sofas or 2 comfortable chairs. You can see in the photos the hard chairs and after walking outside all day you just want to sit down somewhere comfortable and they didn't have that option. We sent 2 more issues thru the app and they said they would take care of it. I wondered if we were amoung the first to stay here and the kinks just aren't worked out yet?
