Friends getaway
Long time friends together for a getaway to your old farm retreat. We enjoyed the charm of the old farmhouse. We thought the location was central to the various Door county attractions. We enjoyed all the birds and saw some deer. All in all we enjoyed a relaxing weekend.
We had a wonderful stay. Beautiful property. Kitchen had everything we needed. Plenty of space for the family. Loved the screened in porch. It was fun reading about the history of the home as well.
Fabulous location for easy access to boat launches and other areas in the peninsula for Fourth of July festivities. Quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of towns, but were able to see fireworks from the patio! Great weather our whole trip - a bit on the warm side luckily there were fans as there is no a.c. Loved that there was laundry on site and the hosts were quick with any responses needed! Hope to make this an annual adventure!!
A country farmhouse experience, grounds and building were clean - aside from some typical farm flys. Very nice central location in door county made getting to everything a blast and loved how dog friendly the very responsive hosts were. Only note - no AC but we new that going in
The photos of this place don’t do it justice! If you are looking for a spacious, peaceful country retreat a little off the beaten path, this is for you! The home was charming and we appreciated learning about the history of the farm. We live in a farmhouse, so we are used to the character of homes of this age (I believe the floors on the second floor are original -very cool). The home was very clean and there is a lot of outdoor space, including a fire pit and grill. We plan to stay again next year. Thank you!

Quiet Country Getaway
This older farmhouse has been renovated inside and has plenty of room for a group of 8, if people are willing to share beds. The surrounding property is fairly well maintained, and provides a nice country view. We were able to gather in the evenings for cards and prepare meals in the large kitchen. With a group of 8, getting ready in the mornings might be a challenge with (2) small bathrooms. but we never ran out of hot water and were able to get it done. Overall was a good experience.
The property was not clean, there where moths, flies and spiders. The pots and pans were rusty. The building had rotting window frames and window sills. We did not stay any nights there. We booked a hotel 40 miles away rather than stay a single night there.
This listing should be taken off-line. In my view it’s inhabitable!

Hello James, thanks for letting us know about your stay! The owner wanted to share the following:
- We take the cleanliness of our home seriously. We are sorry about the inconvenience you experienced with bugs in the home and we have ongoing pest control monitoring the property. We work with a professional cleaning company that cleans the home before each guest's arrival. We also live 15 minutes away from the property and inspect the cleaning regularly.
- We inspected the pots and pans after your department and we did not notice any rust in any of them. We will continuously check them and replace them if needed.
We go above and beyond for our guests and we are confident future guests will have excellent stays!

Not too bad
The house was fine but could have been a little cleaner. Spices in the cupboard dated 1991. We just didn't use. There is NO air, only fans. If it is a hot week, it would have been a huge problem for us as rooms are mostly upstairs. I think this should be noted somewhere. Otherwise it was a nice old farm house.

Owner's response: "Amy, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We are happy to respond to your concerns and also that you stated this is "a nice old farmhouse". We have tried to achieve that feel in our renovations and are always delighted when our guests "get" that. - Thank you for letting us know about the spices in the cupboard, we will check them out on our next visit. Sometimes guests leave them and we don't always know if they are up to date. - We do not list AC as one of the amenities and we do provide our guests with fans. Since you were not here on a "hot week" you were not able to experience the cross ventilation between the two upstairs rooms.Again, thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. These reviews are a valuable tool that helps us continually improve our services. Thanks, Mary"
We really enjoyed our time at the farmhouse. The property was nice and clean. You could tell it was an older home as they are just by nature a bit tougher to keep every nook and cranny clean but it was more than livable. The story of the farmhouse was very cool and the grounds outside were perfect for our little ones to run and play. The bonfire pit was wonderful as was the screened in porch. The bedrooms were cute and clean as well. It wasn’t hot when we stayed so the lack of AC wasn’t an issue. Only things that would be great to add would be darkening shades for the bedrooms as some of the windows have nothing on them which makes for some very early mornings, especially with little ones. And it would have been helpful to have hand soap in each of the bathrooms as we had to go out and buy some. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay and our family had a very fun time! Thanks again for everything!

Nice location for a pet-friendly Door County stay
Great location especially if you have a dog and a big crew. Door County isn't super pet-friendly in their lodging choices. Location was #1 best thing about the house. The main floor was nice and large. Kitchen was nicely stocked with the pots and pans and utensils we needed. Even had batteries in the junk drawer which we needed (and replenished). Beds were comfortable, but wish they were queens (who sleeps in doubles anymore but kids?) Our weather was wet and rainy and we knew there was no air conditioning so that worked out well! Only 8 bath towels for an 8-bed home. Even though there is a washer and dryer (and even detergent) wish there could have been more. Our wifi worked fine in such a remote area I was impressed. Some cobwebs and dead flies in the windows - don't think they had been opened. We had to do a bit of cleaning! We were on the floor (we had toddlers) and either one rug or floor was super dirty because we all had a lot of dirt on our pants, but we couldn't figure out which one it was. It's definitely a farm house and if you have a big crew and a pet, we would recommend.
As described it’s an old farm renovated with some newer appliances.
The dishwasher is old but washer/dryers, cooking range are newer. Well stocked with linens and in the kitchen too.
There is no AC but the owner was upfront about it when I asked and mentioned that they have fans that can be used and fortunately for us we didn’t need during Labor Day weekend. While the place was largely clean but there were some spiders and insects in the living room and even in bedrooms which I removed using their vacuum. It wasn’t unhygienic although additional cleaning in bedrooms would be better. Internet was very slow and streaming wouldn’t work. None of the bathrooms or bedrooms have locks, this was our biggest problem as a group.
Overall still a decent experience given the last minute booking we made.
We loved the remote location, watching the birds in nearby fields (sandhill cranes, geese), the expansive landscape, a beautiful willow tree in the front yard, well-equipped historic farmhouse. The owners took the time to research the story of the property and the family who started farming there over a hundred years ago - it was a very interesting read. The downstairs bedroom is wheelchair accessible. We loved the spacious screened in porch. Our dogs enjoyed the stay as well! Thank you! We will be back!
We stayed at a farmhouse just a few miles outside Bailey's Harbor. We saw many sand hill cranes and a few Piliated Woodpeckers. We appreciated the vistas, the screened in porch.
The house was big enough for our family of 7. The kitchen is stocked well enough for cooking on a vacation. The internet (and therefore tv) had problems, but it's to be expected since the house has hughsnet. The only problem we had was the first two nights of our stay it was warm. The house doesn't have air conditioning, and there were only 2 box fans for a 3 bedroom house. That made for some uncomfortable sleeping.

Nice country spot
Nice easy location, fire pit, yard and great porch. A little dusty and needs some better cleaning and softer towels but was fine overall.
Farm house was spacious and clean. Cons: no air conditioning. It was a hot weekend so sleeping in the upstairs bedrooms without air was uncomfortable. Aldo, internet is very spotty. We had intended to work at the house but instead had to go to the nearby coffee shop.
