Thank you for your interest in our beautiful home away from home. This is a bit of a read (A big Canadian "SORRY" for that☺️ 🙈 )  but very well worth your time not only for an honest and detailed description of our penthouse but also to educate prospective guests about how special The Aspens and it's location truly are. The review of "ski in ski out" below is particularly important.
The word “luxury” is very subjective. And used far too liberally! I take it very seriously however and invite all prospective guests to read through our 193 reviews and holding rock steady at 10/10!! 😃 . It is a source of great pride to have a perfect rating with such a high review count! AND EXTREMELY RARE! 
What follows are descriptions and pictures which attempt to highlight why our numbers are consistently the highest they can possibly be and while all owners try to cast their properties in the best light they can, the proof is in the reviews!! In those reviews you will find zero comments about false or exaggerated claims. None. Nada.   😃 .  
Our success has not come easily and it started with some luck and great timing. In 2017 we had the good fortune to purchase the penthouse after owning a standard size 1-bedroom elsewhere in The Aspens. Our penthouse with 15’ cathedral ceilings and 700sq ft floor space combine for what is by far the largest 1-bedroom in arguably Whistler’s best TRUE ski in ski out. (a detailed review of “ski in ski out” properties follows below).
Size is a great place to start however it’s not luxury unless the space is shown the respect it deserves. Enter our family’s 4th generation kitchen and bathroom company. 😊. Pulling on decades of experience and the generous help of family, we have transformed our space into something very special. The result is High quality everything and everywhere. Since purchasing the penthouse we have had several major renovations and invested tens of thousands of dollars to create and MAINTAIN the perfect space. Investments in kitchen and bathroom renovations the latest in October 2025, flooring, twice painted top to bottom, high quality sofa beds and other furniture, kitchen appliances and kitchenware, dishes, art work and the king bed. Ohhh the bed. If inclined to read those reviews you will see the bed prominently mentioned throughout. You will also see “best in The Aspens” from Aspens’ veteran guests. The bed is so very welcoming after a hard day of having fun! Custom furniture, entertainment unit (smart TVs and sound system), heated tile floors, soaker tub, work space,…. the list goes on. And the 2 leather recliners. Simple melt into a well earned nap 😴 or dive into a good book.  All of this and with a constant eye on how to keep improving, nowhere in the reviews will you see any comments about this or that needing improvement or replacement. Nowhere! The key is to make improvements BEFORE they are needed. No easy task! Indeed It is not easy to take a tired space and make it beautiful (The family business has done this literally thousands of times), it’s another thing to keep it looking that way and to keep the bar set very high year after year after year. And yet our home away from home continues to be a true labour of love and a serious and rewarding hobby. It’s our happy place 😊. 
The highlights:
2022.
-2 highest quality “Stylus” brand sofa beds with upgraded optional $$ memory foam mattresses because we don’t expect them to only be used by the kids…. And because “luxury” demands more than just the basics! They also have mattress protectors, mattress covers and comfy duvets. Same treatment as the king bed. 
-new smart TVs and sound system, the start of the 2-3” solid maple live edge accenting… 
2023:
-bathroom renovation. Floor to ceiling tiles, heated floor, thermostatic shower system, new fixtures.
2024:
-paint top to bottom, new carpeting, replaced the entry closet with the gear area and installation of a GearDryer (one of the best ideas of all the improvements!)
2025 NEW!:
-kitchen renovation and matching custom cabinets for the bedroom. 
2026:

SKI-IN SKI-OUT. -AN EDUCATION: ☺️:
Sharing what locals and Whistler veterans already know:
-a lot of people and companies label their place as ski in ski out and just like the word “luxury”, - they take great liberties. It is truly unfortunate  there is no ski-in ski-out vetting on booking sites 😞…. 
-in short if you can’t put your skis/boards on at the property and ski/board to the lift it AIN’T ski out. Similarly if you can’t ski to the border of the property it’s not ski-in either. The Aspens is approximately 75 yards/meters uphill. An easier and shorter walk compared to nearly every other actually true ski-in ski-outs. 
-here is a short list of those who claim to be but are NOT: Fairmont (our neighbor downhill. Ski in yes. Ski out NO. Four Seasons (my true competitor which is a few hundred yards from the gondola), Westin, Hilton, Pan Pacific, Glacier, Chamois, Marquis, Woods, Powderhorn, all of the properties in the main village, the list of wannabees is unfortunately very long….  With some you have to walk a hundred yards/meters or more walk while hauling your gear to and from the property and the lifts yet they have the audacity to call their place ski in ski out! 
-Don't learn the hard way while you are walking to and from the lifts with the kids and all your gear. You pay a premium for ski-in ski-out therefore it’s worth making certain you are getting what you paid for. The Aspens is simply the envy of the also-rans.  
THE PENTHOUSE DETAILS:
1. -Owner available 24/7.  Owner-managed. Any urgent matters quickly addressed. The front desk is also open 24/7 (& they sell frozen pizzas! And a host of other sundries. :) )
2. -King bed with high quality luxurious 16” memory foam pillow top in the bedroom. Plus in the living room our unique large space allows for 2 sofa beds with space to spare.  The queen and double sofa beds are the highest quality and with upgraded memory foam mattresses.
3. -Kitchen. The kitchen is very fully outfitted with quality dishes, new fridge (October, 2025), all clad and stainless cookware, appliances and cooking utensils.  
4. -Bathroom. The bathroom has floor to ceiling tile, heated floor, soaker tub and a thermostatic shower system. 
5. -300mbps High speed internet & cable TV. Smart TVs(2). Soundbar. Extra batteries always provided for devices. 
6. -A/C. Air Conditioning. Excellent and quiet 17,000BTU split ducted system central air. (not a window or portable system!). More than enough cooling power to keep the unit comfortable during the hottest summer days. 
(MANY units in The Aspens do not have A/C.)
7. Other amenities/details: 
-GearDryer, 
-work/office desk in the bedroom
-high pile quality carpeting
-BBQ. High quality stainless bbq... (with an extra full propane tank. NOTHING left to chance!). Reaches over 700degrees. Trust it with any steak you throw at it!
-(2) smart TV’s (55" living room, 42" bedroom). 
-Wii
-Board games
-DVD with over 100 classic movies
-EVERY light in the condo is dimmable. (Even the microwave has 2 light settings ).
-gas fireplace (building shuts all fireplace gas feeds during the summer months) 
-2 balconies
-smoke and gas detectors.
-directly adjacent to the concrete fire escape stairwell. (in fact the proximity to the fire escape which is extremely rarely used not only provides additional privacy and quiet, -it is also the reason for the unique layout, the extra-large size of our unit and the high cathedral ceiling!)
-Desk/workspace in the bedroom for remote work while others enjoy  the living room.... (look closely at other units' bedroom pictures. Very few have enough space in the bedroom for a work desk let alone a full size leather recliner! Or a balcony)
-Custom made solid maple live edge accents. Mantle, work desk, bathroom mirror, shelving....
-Artwork "Blueberry2Blackcomb" , "Run" and "Black Tusk" giclee print from our favorite artist Andy Anissimoff of Squamish. The wooden sculpture "The Skier" (Alan Boileau). Alan's piece really steals the show!  
-Professionally cleaned after each stay including regular carpet steam cleaning.
Our suite is meticulous. It is very highly equipped offering all the comforts of home. You will want for nothing!  Nuestra casa es tu casa!! 
"THE ASPENS BUILDING DETAILS/AMENITIES":
-FREE Ski valet. 07:30-18:00 daily during ski season
-24/7 front desk. They also sell basic groceries such as milk, cereal, muffins, coffee, cream, frozen pizza and ice cream, pasta, sauce, toiletries and a host of other items.
-Pool towels. At front desk.
-Pool. One of the largest in Whistler and West facing means full sun all day long. Surrounding the pool in summer are large cantilevered umbrellas, lounge and sitting chairs. Pool is kept at a comfortable temperature year round. 
-3 hot tubs one of which is only 20 feet from the ski run. You can quite literally talk to skiers and boarders from sitting in the hot tub. 
-Bike storage room. Gated and video monitored. A code will be provided for access. 
-LOCATION! LOCATION!, LOCATION!!  
The Aspens is one of the very best locations in Whistler. A true ski-in ski-OUT(!) slopeside gem on Blackcomb in the Upper Village. Ski to our slopeside gate, leave your skis at the valet and head up to your spacious penthouse in a total of 3 minutes... (You cannot beat that time at the Fairmont next door nor at the Four Seasons behind them ;) ). Upper Village shops and restaurants, the gondola, guest services, Merlin's!!, -all a few minutes walk. Or a 5 second ski.
In closing it is easy for owners to overstate their space. But if they do they will not maintain such high ratings over such a long period of time -9yrs. and counting...! We prefer to encourage all prospective guests to read our fantastic reviews. Nowhere will you find disappointment and we will work hard to ensure your review is another 10/10!
