The Space:
This charming three-bedroom craftsman cottage is close to everything you need for a wonderful vacation. Built in 1910, this home was ordered from a Sears catalogue and arrived in kit form! Step through the hot pink front door and into the foyer adorned with the original hand-painted glass globe chandelier that was offered with all Craftsman Sears homes.

The antique home has original polished hardwood floors throughout, updated bathrooms and stainless steel appliances. On the main floor there is a cozy living room with a smart TV and a large sofa and loveseat. Through the living room is a bright dining area overlooking the backyard and a great kitchen for those who want to prepare meals together at home. Off the kitchen is a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and one bathroom with a tub-shower combo.

At the front of the house is a lovely covered porch to sit and enjoy a cool drink. The well-manicured backyard is fully fenced in and has a large outdoor shower, grill, hammock and a shed with lots of beach essentials.

For some local flavor, walk to Downtown Dennis Port, which has a great selection of local restaurants: grab some pad thai at Thai Ocha Cafe; a burger at the Red Nun; a slice of New York-style pizza at Knockout Pizza; a fried seafood plate from Original Seafood; or a grinder from Dennisport House of Pizza. For a more formal sit-down meal that you won’t forget, take a short drive to The Ocean House that offers upscale cuisine and overlooks Nantucket Sound.

Other nearby attractions to put on your must-do list: Play a round of golf at Dennis Highlands Golf Course or Dennis Pines; explore one of the many local beaches (Depot Street Beach is a 15-minute walk and Sea Street Beach is a 20-minute walk from the house) or kayak down Bass River.

Family vacation

Wonderful home, would love outdoor seating. Very comfortable home, kitchen setup is great for being together. Love the washer and dryer combo.

Good stay!

We had a nice weekend at this property. The house was stylish, comfortable and very dog friendly. Love the Golden Retriever throw on the couch! Our Golden loved romping around the fenced in yard. Upstairs master bed was very comfortable. Location is walkable both to restaurants and shops and the beach. Overall a good place especially for families with dogs. :)

Cape Escape

The cottage is darling with a welcoming porch and fully fenced yard for our Goldendoodle to run around it. The location is convenient to shops, restaurants and the sea. The first floor is comfortable (great couches) and the kitchen large and easy to work in. There are a few small enhancements that would make it even better. First, there are no instructions for how to login to the TV or use the grind/brew coffee maker. (after several attempts we caved and bought a cheap drip coffee maker) Use of the TV was confounded by 5 remotes and no idea which to use. The staff at Delmar helped with that over the phone. The lovely yard could benefit from more adult seating (there are only two Adirondack chairs) and no table for eating outside or small ones to put beside the chairs to enjoy a beverage (same for the porch). The main bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed, but unfortunately no end tables. You have to sidle into the bed on one side around a very large heavy crib (perhaps this could be stored when there are no toddlers or infants staying there) and the other side has a large armoire with childrens' hangers in it. No where to place a beside clock or ability to read in bed. These are all easily correctible and would make staying there even better. Overall we had a nice time.

Charming house in Dennis Port

Our weekend stay in Dennis Port for a family wedding was made even more lovely staying in the chic, adorable 1920s house. The pictures are accurate in representing the house. It’s perfect for families or couples and with two full bathrooms we had ample space to get ready for our wedding. Kitchen is well equipped and a great space with a dining area and counter stools/ island. This house is in walking distance of some stores, restaurants and little market. Rory’s Market and Kitchen was the perfect place to pick up coffee, organic ANYTHING, and a terrific salad or wrap or smoothie for lunch. The only thing we struggled with was the coffee maker in the kitchen of the house. We couldn’t figure it out and it would help to have directions on the counter. Overall, a terrific place to stay. Highly recommend. We would return!
