Whoa… what a view! This stunning view will delight everyone in your party!
What a View Lodge is an amenity-stocked 3 bedroom with additional loft, 3 bath lodge perched over 3700 feet in elevation overlooking the Alarka Creek Valley and all the way to Clingman’s Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. And the view… Is there a better view in the Smokies? The lighting, clouds, and shadows are constantly changing. We’re confident that your time with us will exceed your expectations in every way!
What a View Lodge has 2674 sq. ft. of indoor living space on three levels and sleeps up to eight. The lodge features two decks, a large screened in porch with a dining area, a camp-style charcoal grill, and a flat gravel parking area large enough for three vehicles. What a View Lodge sits on a large 3+ acre wooded lot in a gated, 286-acre, community where privacy is an understatement.
Entry Level: The main level features a kitchen with a two-seat breakfast bar and all the appliances, pots and pans, and serving pieces to cook a great meal; a dining area; a large living room with cathedral ceilings and over-sized sliding glass doors; a washer/dryer combo; and a huge master bedroom and bath. In the living room there is a 43- inch HD/Smart TV, a gas log fireplace, and access to both the upper deck and the screen porch. The master bedroom features a king-sized bed and another 43-inch HD/Smart TV.
Lower Level: On the lower lever there are two bedrooms (one queen and one with two twin beds), one full bath, a large den, and another deck. The den has a large reclining sofa and double recliner love seat, with console, where you can relax while you enjoy the 65-inch HD/Smart TV, watch a movie on the DVD player (large collection of movies provided).
Loft/Upper Level: Upstairs is a large loft with a queen bed, desk, sitting area, and the third full bathroom.
Nearby Attractions: From What a View Lodge it is an easy drive to downtown Bryson City (10 miles) where you’ll find locally owned shops, hometown restaurants and breweries, and the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. The GSMR features diesel and steam engine excursions into the Nantahala Gorge, up the Tuckasegee River, and – of course – the Polar Express! Not far away are the Deep Creek Recreation Area with hiking (three waterfalls), fishing, horseback riding, and tubing; the Appalachian Trail and Nantahala Outdoor Center for more hiking, white water rafting, zip lining and more; Harrah’s Cherokee Casino; Tsali Recreation Area for mountain biking, hiking, camping, and boating; the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway; and the towns of Cherokee , Dillsboro and Sylva.
What a View Lodge winds along Alarka Creek until you head up the mountain. From there it gets steep, but it is asphalt-paved and well maintained. We’ll also help you keep a watch on any winter weather.
You must be 25 years of age to book this lodge.

Downtown Bryson City has an elevation of 1,752 feet, so think of this as a starting point. The majority of our cabins will have a higher elevation than this. This means that our roads- both state and private- will be steeper, narrower, and curvier than you may be used to driving. Also, you should expect to encounter gravel roads. Consider it part of our rural mountain charm!
Here at Yellow Rose, your safety is our priority. If a cabin requires 4-wheel, front-wheel, or all-wheel drive to access it, it will be listed in the description. If bringing or riding motorcycles, please call and ask for motorcycle friendly properties.
