Home Away from Home
Interesting time to be moving during COVID. What we'd planned to be an occasional retreat and spring break enclave turned into our shelter-in-place location. In addition to the regular household of 5, I had to add in my college age boy and his fiance where everyone finished school. Hosts Pete and Joni were so extremely thoughtful. The house didn't lack for anything, whether the basic tool kit or needle and thread kit. We ended up her for over two months and it was so much nicer than returning to a dreary maryland spring. Grateful for school closures which allowed us to stay in a temperate clime. Our first few weeks were pre-closure, so we got to explore downtown Dunedin. Amazing little city and ideal for the craft beer connoisseur. Great breweries and pubs. After closure, we were forced to make do on our own. The kitchen was extremely well stocked for preparing family meals. The outdoor grill was great. Plenty of room to accommodate a crew of 7. Twice weekly pool service ensured crystal clear bathing in a lovely backyard oasis. We made great use of the adjacent walking trail and ventured out on the four provided bicycles with all equipment. This place was ideal for a transitory home and great for a weekend or a long stay of several months. Much thanks to Joni and Pete of Dunedin Realty for a great stay.

Attractive, comfortable & convenient
We are four old friends from college (2 couples) who rented for a week. This house proved to be perfect for us as the spaces really work well and everything has been thoughtfully arranged: coffee provided, lots of fluffy towels, nice sheets and great closet spaces.Kitchen is very workable. We enjoyed coffee at poolside, walking on the trail, and venturing out for excursions. At the house, we watched movies, read books and played cards in the evenings. Joni went above and beyond as hostess, walking us through the house on our arrival to explain things and being available if we had a question. On our return home, a packet awaited with my lost socks!! They are favorites, with polka dots! Thanks, Joni!

Perfect on the Pinellas Trail
We stayed at this wonderful, renovated home in the quaint town of Dunedin in October this year. Very conveniently located right off Bayshore Drive (ALT 19) we could zip right into town to enjoy the various local restaurants and shops. We also enjoyed riding the bikes provided up and down the Pinellas Trail which is located right out the back gate. The amenities provided by Pete & Joni made it an extra special experience. We enjoyed some yummy cookies, local coffee, and wine Joni had ready for us as welcome gifts. The amount of toiletries, condiments, and other kitchen items provided saved us time and money at the grocery as well. We will definitely be back!

About the host

Host profile image
We are about as Dunedin as it gets! We are both licensed realtors working at Dunedin Realty. Our office is downtown on Main St so we live, work and play here. We have come to appreciate the charm and quaintness this city has to offer. From the countless events to the friendly people who live here. This particular property is a home we'd like to retire in so we take pride in it's upkeep and appearance. We spared no expense in updating it and hope to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable so you want to come back. We live close by and can recommend activities and restaurants that will enhance your visit. If you end up appreciating our community as much as we do, we can even help you with a home purchase. We make ourselves available to answer questions as we too like to travel and pick the brains of locals where we visit. We'd love being your host and sharing our town with you! Thanks for your time reading our profile.

Why they chose this property

Unlike our sister coast which boasts the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf Coast features much calmer beaches with breathtaking sunsets. The Pinellas lifestyle is more relaxed with friendly people to greet you where ever you visit. Being the county is a relatively flat peninsula, the Gulf & Bay breezes circulate to make for a pleasurable climate. Although humid in the summer, the hottest reported temperature ever is only 99 degrees.... and the winters are just perfect. Dunedin itself is ideally located just north of Clearwater right on St Joseph's Sound & the Gulf of Mexico. We refer to it as Mayberry on the water... Small quaint downtown where Ma & Pa businesses flourish and there's a farmers market every weekend. 2 State Island Parks, a Causeway, several Marinas and countless waterfront parks & pathways make for tranquil walks, bike rides and sun bathing. The Toronto Blue Jays call Dunedin their winter home, with the Phillies 5 minutes down the road in Clearwater and the Yankees across the bay in Tampa. These are just a couple of many attractions this area has to offer. We're hoping every guest will explore and find their own favorite place & activity.

What makes this property unique

This home is in an incredible location in Dunedin - ON the Pinellas Bike & Jogging Trail - Shaded Back Yard w/Large Pool & Paved Sun Deck - Short Bike Ride to Downtown & Causeway - Kayaking, Fishing, Water Activities - etc, etc,... Our hope is that you see the merits of not only our location, but the condition of the home and amenities it offers. The home has been tastefully furnished in a traditional beach cottage theme. We were very meticulous in our selections on every item in the home and outside living areas. Our goal is to have repeat guests so we will be diligent in preparing the home and making ourselves available to answer questions.
