My BFF and I rented this for her 50th bday getaway celebration and her one request was a hot tub! Hot tub was perfect and private and easy to use! Fire pit seating, bbq if we needed it, and cornhole games also added to the outdoor fun offered by this property. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with every utensil and item necessary for cooking full meals. Lovely comfortable mattresses and bedding left us feeling cozy and rested every morning. Couches and living area were perfect and offered great wifi connection. We had a very fun time visiting Lewiston and did lots of shopping in Weaverville, as well. Overall a 10/10 stay/host experience and cleanliness was immaculate!

My family and I had a fantastic stay at this property. It was the perfect setup for our family of four; cozy, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked, the bathroom was spotless, the beds were very comfortable, and the air conditioning kept the house at an ideal temperature. The home cooled down quickly and stayed consistently pleasant. The hot tub was a great bonus, especially on the cool evenings. While river access in Poker Bar can be a bit tricky to figure out, Lisa kindly allows guests to access the river through her property, which is just a short walk away. Overall, this was the ideal spot for a quick weekend escape, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

Great property for fisherman

For a couple of serious steelhead fisherman, looking for centrally located cabin that is clean, well stocked and situated in the middle of some very fine fishing this is one you should consider. It offers the ability to travel both upstream and downstream. Place is perfect for two however anything more would get a little crowded.

Cozy, relaxing, peaceful

This cabin was beautiful. It had a very cozy and warm feeling. It was the perfect weekend get away for me to unplug, explore nature, and relax. I would definitely stay here again and hope to do so soon! I arrived to a nice note and some cookies from the owner. There were games, movies, books for any downtime. The location was in between multiple sites that were perfect for hiking and exploring. The bed was very comfortable and I feel so relaxed and rested.

Super clean cabin on the Trinity river

My wife and I spent a week in this cabin and were very pleased. Twenty years renting homes, and this was one of the cleanest and best stocked homes we have been in. The beds were comfortable, as was the furniture. Although in the nineties the entire week, the A/C kept the place cool and comfortable. Lisa, the owner, came and met us and was a very friendly woman, and even sent us a plate full of delicious nachos on our last evening. Overall, we highly recommend this VRBO home!

Quiet, private, and just right!

Our family of three little bears found the cabin in the woods to be just right. Lisa was a great hostess, she has thought of everything, even down to the homemade zucchini bread. We took the bikes out for an evening ride, played cornhole in the yard, and soaked in the hot tub after a day of exploring the area. We drove to several river access points, as there wasn’t access from the cabin/neighborhood. The access points are just that, access and not really beaches for pole fishing. But they are free and we were able to drop our lines in a couple of places. This was a short trip for us, so we couldn’t possibly get all of the things done that are offered in the area. Lisa had an incredible catalog of things to do, menus, maps and more. The cabin was fully stocked and clean! The cabin looks exactly like the pictures. This was our very first VRBO experience and we had a great time.

You had me at the detachable shower head

I don’t know if everything I want to say will fit but here goes. To sum up in one word, FANTASTIC! We just wanted to get away for a long b-day weekend & had booked at the last minute. Everything was as described & then more. It was so quiet & private. The cabin was very inviting & comfortable. Getting in was no problem but to be honest once we arrived we ended up checking out the outside areas first. The front porch area was comfortably inviting & the back patio area proved a GREAT place to bathe our dog after playing in the river. Speaking for Vigo (the dog) he VERY much enjoyed all the roaming & sniffing areas but especially the low hanging tree branch out back that he could use for his own personal back rubbing station. When we finally went inside the first thing we saw was the dog bed there just for Vigo. It was so welcoming to know that even his comfort was accounted for. There were also PLENTY of smaller throw blankets which is important when you have a large dog who insists on smelling everything while dragging his jowls across it in the process. The AC works great but what I was most impressed with was the availability of floor fans (that NEVER happens) & the ceiling fan in the bedroom. Bedrooms should always have a ceiling fan. The kitchen was stocked perfectly. We brought the ingredients for a b-day meal & had everything we needed to make it. Cookware, utensils, & even condiments. My husband developed a brief love affair with the no touch trash can & wanted me to specifically mention the baked goods that welcomed us upon arrival. They were all very tasty & from local businesses. The river access area was great. It was a short drive but you could walk or ride a bike if you were so inclined. The seating area was cool. There were chairs to sit in, a carpeted area & access to the river was really easy. Vigo had a fantastic time in there. Fetching sticks & investigating both sides of the river. The water was cold but refreshing & we ate a TON of fresh blackberries that we ventured across the river to pick. We didn’t kayak or float the river but I would highly recommend it & we plan on coming back & doing that the next time. The bathroom had a little bit of basically anything you might need, plenty of towels & the shower head was detachable. You had me at detachable shower head. Communication was easy & Lisa was beyond accommodating. We had a great time & will be back!!!

We really enjoyed The Cabin in the Woods. It had all the privacy we were looking for and met all our needs. It was very clean and was the best stocked vacation rental we have stayed in. Everything you needed was there. Lisa was a great host. Her instructions and directions were great and she was readily available if you needed her. A great place to stay. We hope to go back some day.

We had such a lovely time at this cabin. The location is beautiful, you can walk around the neighborhood and down to a bridge over the Trinity River. The cabin is clean, has a great lay-out, and is very inviting. The kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub is a lovely treat, as is the eating out on the front deck. We did easy day trips to Indian Creek Lodge where family was staying, the Trinity River down near the Douglas City Campground, Weaverville, and stopped by Lewiston Damn on our way home. It is such a lovely area. Lisa, the host, was extremely easy to communicate with, and helped us with some last minute changes as family decided to join our trip last minute. We had a great time and will be back!

Host profile image
I am a semi-retired gal, baking vendor at the Weaverville Farmers' Market May through October and I specialize in Greek and American delicacies (also available to guests!). I am also a board member and grant writer for our local fire department, a Fire Belle, LAFCO Alternate member, and volunteer at the Lewiston Moose Lodge cooking, bartending, and waitressing. I love to kayak, grow my own organic produce and provide guests with memorable experiences so they will want to return again as a tradition.

Why they chose this property

This cabin property is beautiful and peaceful. It is well stocked with everything a traveler might need and is one short block to the riverfront.

What makes this property unique

Overall comfort and provisions with little details make my guests' stays wonderful. Guests have commented that the environment is very serene and quiet, with wonderful views of the mountains, open sky, and that it has all the comforts of home with everything they need when traveling. The beds are very comfortable with high quality seasonal bedding, all kitchen and bath essentials, bikes, a private hot tub, outdoor games (corn hole, croquet), 4 bikes, two hammocks, indoor board games, inner tubes, and rafts. The internet is fast and Wi-Fi calling works with most carriers. The Smart TV provides a host of entertainment, especially if you are a subscriber to Netflix, Hulu or other media modes. I also have basic DISH TV for sports, news, and DIY shows. Games, DVDs and DVD player are available in the cabin. The outside around the cabin boasts beautiful views of the mountains, open wilderness, stars, with significant wildlife in the area and by the river. Sit outside and gaze at the stars from the cabin's telescope from the porch or relax in the hot tub and melt your stress away!
