Within 5 minutes drive you can head down to the pristine Lake Koocanusa for the more intense water sports. There are also multiple award winning golf courses nearby. In winter the area is well known for its famous ski resorts all within an hours drive: Whitefish Mountain Resort, Fernie Alpine Resort and Turner Mountain Ski Area.
