Near trails, peaceful and lovely neighborhood.

We picked this cabin due to the proximity to the trails. We have quads and this was perfect for my family of 4. The home was lovely, had everything that was needed. We didn’t use the twin beds as my teenager preferred to sleep on the futton. The twin mattress’s we’re not comfy. The cabin has 2 fireplaces, new appliances, ample parking. Overall great stay!

Great place in the pines!

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. The house backs up to the forest and we loved the daily walks in the woods with our golden retriever. The completely fenced backyard was perfect for our pet as well. The neighborhood is beautiful, well-kept, and the residents are very friendly. It is an easy drive to local restaurants and lakes. We lacked for nothing during our stay. We particularly having the barbecue grill, the AC, the fenced backyard, and easy access to the trails/woods. We highly recommend this home.

Very nice getaway in the pines!

We had a very nice stay at this property. The large fenced backyard looking into the National Forest was wonderful. The house was clean and comfortable. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the dishwasher was broken which was unfortunate.

Unsatisfied

Let me start off by saying we enjoyed the cabin and everything it had to offer especially how great the backyard space was for our dog. However our last evening and day was ruined and cut short due to the fact that the septic was not working properly! This cabin specifically stated it could accommodate our family of six and even with minimal water use by Sunday afternoon toilets were not flushing and showers would not drain. This is all signs of a FULL septic tank which was confirmed when the toilets started gurgling every time you would run any water. Knowing you have a family of 6 and a dog renting your space for 4 days it’s very upsetting no one thought to check septic to make sure it was at proper level. We had to leave Monday morning extremely early instead of enjoying our last day in the cabin due to the fact we could use restroom/shower or cook our meals! We had all intentions of renting this property again for future stay but after what we experienced on the last leg of our trip and the fact I haven’t heard back from anybody on the issue, we definitely will NOT be back .

ok

Property was ok. Nothing special. Kitchen was extremely small and the only place to eat was the kitchen island. Master shower was very small as well. Property was next to the National Forest access so you would hear all the traffic entering the forest from 6am past midnight.

Can’t Wait to Go Back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Well equipped, clean, dog-friendly. We can’t wait to go back! The seating in the family room was so comfortable. It was a very relaxing time. While this didn’t affect our stay and is out of the control of the property owners, we are mentioning this in case it would for others (such as people who have dogs with reactivity.) The home is directly adjacent to the forest entrance and there are a few parking spots right along the fence line of the property. It was a very popular spot: a high school cross country team met few times during the week (morning and evening) to run and do drills next to the house, lots of side-by-sides entering the forest, meetups for mountain biking, etc. We loved having such close access to the forest trails so it was fine for us. But worth a mention so that potential renters know what to expect. Big thank you to the owners for allowing this to be a short term rental because we love finding great places that our dogs can stay too! A new favorite!

Good, Not Great

We have stayed at a number of properties over the years in Pinetop-Lakeside and they all have their pluses and minuses. This one was great for location if you head to Big Lake, Hawley Lake, Hon-Dah, etc. in which there is a forest road that pops out right next to the house which can take you to McNary and shave off 5 miles. We also have a UTV which made for a couple great night rides spotlighting for animals with the kids. However, this main entrance to the forest road is well traveled and although didn't bother us, could bother others. To that, the amount of dust at this Property - I believe because of this road - is a lot. The patio, patio furniture, even the house itself is covered in dust - a nice power washing from time-to-time would do externally and deep cleaning internally. House was stocked, kitchen was stocked - all the Short Term Rental boxes were checked along with an air fryer, for the win = great for kids. Gripes were overall beds and pillows, size of the Living Room TV vs. the size of the room, random hair ties throughout the house and spiders in the bathrooms. Overall, a good property in which nothing was a deal breaker for us, but a deep clean would be great with some creature comfort upgrades for future Guests.

Ski vacation with Pups

This house is perfect for dogs and hiking! The yard is large and fully enclosed. The property borders hiking trails, you can just walk out the back door and walk for hours in the forest. We hiked in the morning with the pups and skied during the day at Sunrise. We have GSP pointer pups so they run a lot in the morning and sleep the rest of the day. The dogs loved the wrap around windows, they hung out in the warm living room watching the outdoors. The house is comfortable with everything you could possibly need. We went out for dinner in the evenings, great restaurants within 15 minutes. The house is an open floor plan with a lot of windows. Quiet neighborhood. I can’t wait to go back in the summer. They have wood for the fireplaces but no kindling so it’s tough to get a fire going. The 3 bedrooms are all together on one side of the house so you can hear anyone moving around at night.

Wonderful stay

We absolutely loved our stay here. The location of this property is beyond stunning, and you feel almost secluded, there are properties on either side, however zero properties behind you, just an abundance of beautiful trees. We love being outdoors and a huge bonus is a walking/hiking trail right behind the house, literal entrance to this. Easy walk, me and my kiddos walked this 3 times a day, early morning, lunch, and evenings. The cabin is very welcoming and we felt right at home. Loved that the wood for both fire places is provided. Another bonus is that the yard is fenced in, never had to worry about our dog or kids, they were free to roam out back whenever they wanted and we could see them from the windows. Never thought I would need to fire places but believe me when I say we LOVED it!! The most beautiful location inside the cabin and outside, we will 100% come back again, and hopefully sometime when it snows. Thank you for welcoming my family to your beautiful cabin. Melissa

No toilet paper :(

The cabin was cleaned only on the surface. I cleaned out the refrigerator of expired/old food. The refrigerator and freezer needed to be cleaned. There was so much dust and a lot of debris on the floor. The fire places were not cleaned out which made the place smell like smoke. And we ran out of toilet paper. I had to go buy some. The hostess, however, was very understanding and refunded some $ back to me.

Father’s Day Weekend

We decided to get away for the weekend and this place allowed pets. Overall it’s a good house for the price. The only issue we had was the cleanliness of the home. When we arrived we found the home to not have been well kept. The back patio was covered in pollen from the pine trees, my son had to hose off the patio so we could use it. Inside there was a large amount of dirt on the floor and dust on furniture. In addition dirty dishes were left in the dishwasher, what dishes that where put away needed to be cleaned again before use. Finally the bathrooms were not cleaned and had a large amount of black hairs all over the floor and shower. We attempted to contact the management company and received no response.
