This is our 2nd stay at Avalon. The house is so cosy and well appointed, the only thing it lacks is a separate or 2nd toilet. Fantastic being able to take our 2 furbabies and the fenced backyard is perfect. The central location is excellent!! ☺
The house was relatively modern and closely reflective of the information provided on the website. Further, communication with the property owner was excellent. It was also really helpful to be able to take our small dog with us.
This is the second time we have stayed at Avalon. The house is very comfortable and cosy. The location was great for our weekend. Teresa is a great co-host. We will stay again next visit to Stanthorpe.
The house is at the end of a quiet country street and has a good sized front and back fenced grassy yard if you bring your dog and lots of parking. It is about 10 minutes easy drive north of the Stanthorpe town centre so very convenient to get out and about. There are also some food shops nearby and the lovely Summit Estate winery is very close so you can visit for wine and a charcuterie box to watch the sunset over the vines on Friday or Saturday arvo/early evening. The house is furnished with a very large comfy couch and very large smart TV, dining table, books/dvds/games, good size kitchen, laundry, 3 bedrooms with comfy beds and lots of extra blankets and pillows and a good size bathroom. There is a good size deck with timber chairs that gets the warming north and west sun for winter and the front door has a keypad for entry so you don't need to bother with keys on arrival and departure. The slow combustion fireplace was already warming the house for us when we arrived which was lovely (as was the cheese/hommus/crackers plate in the fridge). The fireplace kept the house very cosy for the weekend - including overnight - and there was a good supply of firewood provided.Teresa, the property manager, lives next door and she and her two furbabies welcomed us over the fence on our first afternoon. We've been visiting Stanthorpe each winter for many years and would recommend Roslyn's cottage to anyone wanting a clean, comfy and quiet place to stay with your furbaby.
My stepdaughters and I spent a fantastic weekend @ Stanthorpe and we will be back! The house was great, convenient and totally welcoming. The manager/neighbour has the most beautiful dogs and she was able to answer all of our questions about what was available locally to eat and drink. We're already lookimg forward to our next visit!Cheers,Denyse
House was perfect for what we needed it for, big yard, clean and comfortable, beautiful sun sets too.Teresa was very helpful too, loved chatting with her.Definitely stay there again.
Perfect spot for a catch up with our sister who lives in the area. Very comfortable house with everything we could possibly need. Would happily recommend.
The property was clean and tidy. Our dogs loved the fenced back yard and making new friends with the dogs next door. It was centrally located to everything we wanted to see. We enjoyed our stay and the lovely warm wood fire in the evenings was a bonus.
The house was nice and warm when we arrived thanks to the lovely host starting and maintaining the fire.
The house is well located for winery visits.

Property was in a great location, clean, and well kept. The property manager was pleasant and super helpful. A well-equipped kitchen and fireplace ready for use made for a fabulous stay. Three good sized bedrooms and a lovely roomy living and dining area.
Quiet and green neighborhood, close to the main road and a nice restaurant.
The house is very specious and cozy.
Teressa, property manager, was very friendly and available.
Very big backyard with a safe fence so our dog could play ( fight through the fence) with Teressa's two dogs, Tango and Micky initially, then Mickey fell in love…

Unsafe neighbourhood
Comfortable small house but unsafe neighbourhood. We were shouted out and heckled by a neighbour brandishing two long poles/sticks as we walked down the street. We left halfway through our stay as we felt uncomfortable and unsafe in this neighbourhood. Very upsetting for us and our teenagers. What a waste of money and the worst holiday experience we have ever had.
Property manager was very welcoming, had excellent communication and was super accomodating. Location was great so we could visit our favourite spots. Pet friendly was a big bonus.Had lots of small added extras that were a great added touch. Two downsides the water pump is very loud and just outside the bedroom, it goes off even when water is not being used at random times and can be heard in all three bedrooms. ( understandable when its this type of system but does make for a bad nights sleep) Secondly the rug in the lounge is a long pile one and is full of food, wood chips, stones, dirt etc this does make for a yucky night in after a shower, cleaner would not feel this as I assume they would wear shoes when walking inside. Needs a good clean or replacing with a short pile rug. Oh and check any kitchen wear before you use it, through no fault of the manager or cleaner previous tenants don't always wash things well and we had to go through and wash food and grease off the things we wanted to use first. Lots of firewood and additional blankets and great flexibility for early check in and late checkout.. Thanks
