Spacious private apartment loft above garage at the newly rebuilt Batteaux Schoolhouse.
Close to Blue Mountain, Wasaga Beach, many excellent golf courses, rail trail for biking, hiking, snowmobiling and so much more. Two bedrooms with queen beds, maximum four people as we are on a septic system. Parking on the property and private entrance.

We went for an overnight stay to enjoy the autumn colours. The schoolhouse loft is a bright, airy space that met all of our needs: ample space, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and peace and quiet. Check in was seamless and we were never left guessing about anything. Highly recommend.

Great Family Getaway in Collingwood Area

We stayed 2 nights at the Schoolhouse Loft and it was so comfortable! A spacious 2 bedroom suite in a quiet, private setting was just what out family of 4 needed. Location was perfect: just outside Collingwood in a quiet hamlet but still close to everything. Washer/Dryer, large bathroom and well-appointed kitchen were all very much appreciated. And Diane is a great host - helpful yet unobtrusive!

Relaxing, peaceful.

Diane and Peter were always available in person or by phone to answer questions and make our stay more pleasant. We are seniors in the throws of a horrendous house downsizing experience and were exhausted from it all. We needed peace, quiet and sleep which we got while awaiting the closing of our new home. Our hosts were always cheerful, positive and friendly and provided us with some appreciated amenities, It’s a good place to stay!

Great Place for an Active Vacation!

My wife and I spent a week at the Schoolhouse Loft in July of '24. The accommodation was PERFECT! Clean, comfortable and well situated for our itinerary. We were able to enjoy biking, hiking, paddleboarding, golf and wandering around Collingwood and Blue Mountain. It was like summer camp for adults! We would highly recommend this property for those that like to get outside and explore (although we did also squeeze in some game evenings indoors)! Thanks Diane and Pete for a great stay.

Absolutely amazing property

We stayed in this brand-new loft for one night. I would say that I couldn't imagine a better house, so clean, so nicely done, with everything you need to enjoy the place. It's a loft above the garage of a house that was rebuilt (it was a school). It has a nice balcony, amazing place for 4 people to stay.

My husband and I are recently retired high school math teachers. Our dream was to always own a schoolhouse. We have been able to rebuild the Batteaux Schoolhouse on the original site and add some vacation rental space to share with you.

Why they chose this property

Do you want to do it all? We are close to anything you would want to do on your vacation. Ski or snowboard at Blue Mountain, sit on the beach in Wasaga Beach, swim, kayak on the Beaver River, golf anywhere, ride your bike on the trail to Meaford!
You name it, you can do it. Collingwood also has three craft breweries and a short car ride will get you to many local cideries. At the end of the day come home and relax on the deck and listen to the sounds of nature.

What makes this property unique

So many windows, so much natural light. Enjoy nature every where you look. Large windows face the east for the sunrise and the west for the sunset. Soak it all in.
