Sea Escape offers a peaceful and relaxing coastal retreat with beautiful views across Ketch Harbour and towards the Atlantic Ocean, yet within easy driving distance of Halifax, the airport and many of Nova Scotia's most popular attractions.

Situated along the scenic Sambro Loop, just south of Halifax, Sea Escape is ideally located for exploring the beautiful coastline, beaches and communities of Nova Scotia.

The stunning Crystal Crescent Beach, with its sandy beaches and coastal walking trails, is only around a 10-minute drive away. Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg and many other popular destinations are also within reach.

Your Accommodation

Set within a former community harbour school, Sea Escape is private, self-contained accommodation with the main living areas upstairs, enjoying lovely harbour and ocean views.

Ideal for couples, families and small groups of up to 6 guests, Sea Escape is the larger of two separate guest accommodations within the property, with the hosts living on-site.

Guests enjoy their own private entrance, designated parking and outdoor seating area with garden furniture, gas BBQ and fire pit.

The accommodation includes two dedicated bedrooms, both equipped with Smart TVs, together with a combined kitchen, dining and lounge area offering flexible additional sleeping arrangements.

The main bedroom enjoys wonderful direct views across Ketch Harbour and towards the Atlantic Ocean, while other rooms overlook the gardens and surrounding countryside, with glimpses of the harbour.

The upstairs washroom has a toilet and washbasin, while the modernised family bathroom with walk-in shower is located downstairs on the main level. There are internal stairs and four external steps at the entrance.

A small local beach and community wharf are just a short stroll away, offering wonderful opportunities to enjoy the water, watch the boats or simply relax and take in the coastal scenery.

The surrounding area offers numerous walking trails, hiking opportunities, kayaking, fishing and places to explore.

Wildlife is also part of the experience, with deer, raccoons and occasionally bears spotted in the surrounding area.

Whether you're visiting to explore Nova Scotia, spend time with family or simply enjoy a peaceful coastal getaway, Sea Escape offers a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.

I absolutely loved my stay at this wonderful property on my first trip to Nova Scotia! It was a perfect spot from which to explore the region, take in harbor views, savor the fall color in a peaceful spot, and enjoy many beautiful coastal hikes. Rachael and Domenic were warm, welcoming, supportive hosts, and made my vacation one I will long treasure!

We had a very good time! The only minuses are the ocean view, only given in one bedroom, and the quite crowded kitchen / living room / 3rd bedroom combined all in one. We found in that aspect the pictures a little deceptive. But all in all, very nice flat, extremely friendly tenants and the kayaks were a definite upgrade.

Dominic and Rachael have been lovely hosts. They were there to greet us and give us the inside scoop on all the best spots and fun things to do! Coffee out on the water was a beautiful way to start our mornings. I would recommend this home to everyone I know and can’t wait to come back again!

We loved our stay at Sea Escape. The view of the harbor in the morning from the bedroom in is unmatched. It was a perfect size for the two of us and we appreciated the location -- not far from sights like Peggy's Cove or from the Halifax waterfront but also in a quiet area away from traffic. The hosts were very helpful, especially when we had questions.

Quite and Relaxing

The place is really clean and the views of the bay from the room were breathtaking. Also being able to have a meal on the dock and watching boats in the bay was very relaxing. I would stay there again.

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful stay at this very neat and lovely place. It's quiet, close to the Halifax, and within 3 mins walking distance to the wharf, making it perfect for fishing whenever you want. The owners are incredibly nice and responds quickly to any questions. Highly recommend!

Wonderful, wonderful and wonderful

Our stay here was amazing. Our hosts Rachel and Dom were absolutely awesome. Very accommodating and very knowledgeable about the area. Only 20 minutes from Halifax, you can enjoy the quiet of rural Nova Scotia or the hustle and bustle of Halifax. We would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to visit Nova Scotia again

Perfectly situated on the edge of Halifax only a 20 min drive away. This cute little house has great views of the Harbour ftom the one room and is quite cozy. Perfect for 2 friends getting away for R&R and doing research at the same time

Quiet escape

The rooms were very clean and it was a beautiful, quiet area. However, I wish some of the description had been more clearly detailed, such as it being on the second floor. Nonetheless, the hosts were extremely nice, and it was a fun trip, despite some unfortunate weather.

Great Location and Gracious Hosts

The property was clean and as advertised and the location was ideal for exploring the south shore or quick trips into Halifax. Dominic and Rachel are gracious hosts who did everything to make our stay memorable. While we were there, they offered suggestions for activities and tips for sight-seeing as well as made sure that we were comfortable. They were quick to respond to any questions prior to the trip as well.

Ketch Habour in October

Ketch Habour is a beautiful little community. The view from our rental was amazing! We could see the ocean out the main bedroom. The rooms were lovely and easily accommodated two children and three adults. There were even toys for the kids! The hosts were extremely welcoming and informative of what was available in the area. We would love to return!

Why they chose this property

The accommoadtion and Ketch harbour area is great for getaways.... It is close to the ocean/harbour views, close to the famous Crystal Crescent Beach, yet close enough to Halifax and other shopping areas and places of interest. We are based on the Sambro loop which has many trails, and experiences to offer. Other popular areas of interest such as Peggys cove, Lunenburg, Chester and Mahone Bay can be visited by car. You can relax and enjoy the ocean views, large garden, BBQ and stroll down to the newly rebuilt public wharf. We have had numerous birds visit us including Humming birds. There is something for everyone!
