The beds were deceptively comfortable, had a great sleep! The fireplace was very warm, although the place was cold prior to getting the fire going. Only stayed one night, so I didn't get as much of a look around as I would have liked. Would stay again.
Lovely old cottage, so peaceful with an amazing view of the night sky! Jane popped by to say hi which was nice as normally you don’t get to meet the property owners. Beautiful touches with fresh flowers and fruit x
What a fabulous stay we had. Jane and her family went over and above to ensure our comfort. They had the fire lit before we arrived so that the cottage was warm when we arrived, on an unseasonably cold summers day!
The house was quirky and charming. Lots of fresh flowers in the rooms. The evening was cool so we lit the fire and the house was very cosy. Very quiet and peaceful location. We enjoyed our stay.
The property was so lovely and quiet; just the birds and the sound of the river. The house was neat and tidy, the kids loved the board games and the fireplace. Bedding was clean and comfortable. The property is on the rustic side but for us that was part of its charm. Hosts were attentive and friendly. Thank you Jane, we had a great time.
Our stay was absolutley amazing. The house was amazing and the beds very comfortable. I cant imagine a better place to recharge. Jane was a wonderful host. The beautiful roses fruit and eggs were such a lovely welcome. Will definitley be back. Thank u Lyn
A total dissapointment!! NOT like the photo. NO river view. Mouse dirt in the kitchen. The cottage smelt musty. Took 2 hours to figure out the weird TV setup.Way overpriced for what folk get! NOT RECCOMMENDED AT ALL.A rip off!!
Wonderfully friendly host, gorgeous location, very relaxing and comfortable house. A great way to get away from the usual tourist route and to see another part of the Kaikoura coast. Loved listening to the ruru at night, watching the quail in the backyard, reading the history of the valley, and hanging out with the sheep. The kitchen was well appointed and easy to work in, the lounge and beds were very comfortable. The only drawback is that the house might be a little tricky for a larger group, as the bath/shower room is a bit of a hallway: it has four doors that open on to it. It's the easiest access to one bedroom, and the only interior access to the loo is through it.
We had a wonderful stay in Jane’s cottage. We loved the style and how Jane decorated the house with fresh flowers. Though it was summer we needed the fireplace, because we had some cold days. We loved it! The rooms and the whole house is perfectly equipped. Nothing was missing. Jane gave us hints where to walk in the beautiful environment. Nearby we went rafting on the Clarence river. One day we were allowed to feed the lambs on Jane’s farm with the bottle. It was amazing! The communication with Jane was easy and quick. We recommend Jane’s cottage without hesitation.
The large house was great to stay in, and located in the lovely Clarence Valley. Typical old farm cottage close to great drives up both sides of the valley
My hubby, 2 year old daughter and I had a great stay here! Place was spacious, owners were lovely (very flexible and easy to communicate with as well) and we had so much fun exploring the property! They even had the port-a-cot set up for us! Highly recommend especially for families 🥰
My friends and I had an amazing time staying at this lovely bach over New Year's! The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Its location was perfect, being close to several scenic walks and hikes which we thoroughly enjoyed. The hosts were fantastic - friendly, accommodating, and quick to respond to any questions we had. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we would happily recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in a beautiful setting.
Lovely rustic farm cottage with real charm. Little touches like the fresh flowers and fruit made us feel really welcome. It was nice to sit in front of the fireplace and play games.
Gorgeous flowers and birdsong surround you in a beautiful valley. Special touches like fresh plums and flowers made our stay more memorable. Older farmhouse had everything we needed for sleeping and cooking and our hostess was friendly and informative.
Came across this little gem last minute and so glad we did. The cottage took us back to memories of the original kiwi bach experience, all the basics provided, fresh flowers and fruit, comfy beds and a proper homely stay - we even needed the fire which the lovely owners had started for us for our arrival. Definitely recommend for a peaceful break away.
