Location! Location! Location! Our Cozy Cottage is directly across from a beach access and the Long Point Birding Trail. If you forget something or need to use the bathroom you can walk back to the cottage in under a minute! Lounge in the sun and play in the beautiful shallow water of Lake Erie, hike the Long Point birding trails or visit the nearby wineries. Endless possibilities await you!

The cottage is 600 square feet and has a newly renovated 200 square foot bunkie. It has a cozy retro vibe that makes you feel like you are vacationing at a cottage, but with all the comforts of home (fibre optic internet, 43 inch television). The eat-in kitchen and living room function together as an open concept space. Both bedrooms have lots of drawers so you can unpack during your stay. The cottage bathroom has a stand up shower and ample room for all your toiletries. Another half bathroom is located in the bunkie. A wrap around deck with a BBQ, fire table and muskoka chairs is available for your use. A large backyard holds a bunkie and a fire pit with a number of chairs. The beach closet holds all the beach toys as well as hooks for your beach towels and a shower to rinse off the sand.

Comfortable and cozy cabin

Stayed with a group of folks to see the eclipse. Good location! Within walking distance of some of the local stores, and that beach access was nice. Having two toilets with the addition of the bunkie was a must due to how many you can sleep. Host was a decent communicator and was satisfied. Cabin and bunkie would be a bit tight if all 10 spots were used and folks were stuck inside on a rainy day, but doable. Cabin was clean and well organized, would certainly book again and the stay at this cabin put this area in my mind for consideration for other places in the future!

Family vacation 2024

We love the Cozy cottage. This is our second visit. Its location is perfect for us. The property has a beautiful variety of trees, abundance of birds and only a short walk across the street to the beach, a very handy buffer when you have a wandering 2 year old. The cottage has everything you need. And the Bunkie is an added space to accommodate our family members, although I’m told the beds are not as comfortable, they are futon style. So bring a sponge cover to put on top if you don’t like a firm bed. It wasn’t enough to stop our family from having fun! We love the wrap around deck with ample seating. During the heat of the day we sat out front under the canopy of a gorgeous tree and at night we used the screened in area on the back porch. Kevin is always available for questions and is both friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful family vacation here.

Glaring Problems in the Property

Property from the inside was alright. However, the outdoor portion of property was completely unusable due to the lack of cleaning. The front porch, firepit, trampoline and deck was filled with brid poop, spider webs, dust and hundreds of mosquitoes. My family could not enjoy the ourdoor space due to the lack of cleaning by the host. Inside was decent other than some spots which had dust. If you plan on staying here make sure to bring mosquitoe spray because there is thousands of them on the property. It seems as if owner was not present here for the last couple of months. Hope the owner cares about the well being of the guests and fixes these issues.

We were quite surprised by your review, especially since we’ve hosted many guests through AirBnB who have given us and our property excellent ratings. Long Point is home to a rich ecosystem of flora and fauna and it is recognized as a UNESCO world biosphere reserve. This prestigious status is awarded to sites that foster the "harmonious integration of people and nature." Many people “flock” to Long Point for the birds since it is a migration route for many species. So yes, your review is accurate, there are mosquitos (and spiders). They are food for the birds. And, yes, there is bird poop sometimes because there are many birds. Every year, a green heron nests in the tree in our front yard, which many birders marvel at. Your review also indicated that the cottage was unkept and had not been used in months, which is untrue. We use the cottage regularly as it is our family cottage and it was throughly cleaned inside and out before you arrived. We were quite disappointed that you sprayed a white substance (sunscreen?) on several of our cottage windows and doors, which was a challenge to remove. We were also quite dismayed that you did not leave the cottage the way you found it. The board games were strewn all of the living room, every single toy was scattered around both the bunkie and the cottage, hand towels and throw blankets were left in a heap on the floor and a queen mattress had been removed from the bedroom and left on the living room floor. We suggest that if you are going to rent other properties on VRBO in the future that you consider leaving them the way you found them or people will not want to rent to you. We love spending time at our cottage and we love Long Point. We’re sorry you didn’t see the beauty that we do.

Cozy Cottage Captivated Us

What a fantastic week in Long Point! The Cozy Cottage was excellent. Everything we could want was there. Every kitchen utensil, comfortable furniture, ample towels, great deck furniture etc. Extremely quiet, with the AC keeping us comfortable we never heard the thunder or fireworks in the evening. Location was excellent for nature lovers like us. The marsh walk across the street behind the cottage presented us with frogs, toads, muskrat, birds, birds and more birds, and my grandson found a newly shed snake skin that he was thrilled to have as a souvenir. In the back yard a nesting family of green herons delighted our whole family each day as we watched the chics climb further from the nest along the tree branches. Also we were given a show by a killdeer momma and her chics passing through. My 82 yr old mom said never in her life had she seen a killdeer do it’s distraction dance. The beach was easily accessed by crossing the street and walking over a small sand hill. It was so close we could hear the waves from the front yard. We would love to come back again. Thank you Kevin for your swift action to my questions. We loved our stay!
