Good location Bad Rodent Problem

House is conveniently in walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars in the highlands. However, after only being in the house for an hour we found a mouse chewing through a bag of unopened chips we had on the kitchen counter. There are mouse droppings all over the kitchen and the house. Needless to say this was a gross situation. The owner was pretty responsive to messages except when I messaged about the mouse problem.

Terrible experience.

Let me start by saying I turned this bad situation over to my attorney. I received no communication over a mouse concern. VRBO tried to contact the owner/manager 15 times with no response (via email and phone). This was only because I contacted them multiple times as I had no contact with owner/manager. I never thought I would need to search an owner’s name online for issues before renting, but since his can be found with multiple issues on another rental site, I learned my lesson. If you rent, I hope you don’t have any issues.

Not good

Significant issues with mice in the kitchen, and it clearly wasn’t a new problem. We sent the owner a message through the app halfway through the weekend, which he never responded to. The area is great and there's lots of other rental options in the neighborhood that are a much better value for your money.
