It was excellent! Very nice and peaceful!
Our stay was truly peaceful, secluded and quiet! The scenery was amazing also. The cabin very homey and lots of amenities! We highly recommend this awesome cabin on the Black River!
We enjoyed this cabin so much. It was a wonderful location, very secluded and quiet. The boys did a lot of fishing, caught a pike the first day there! The kayaks and canoes were so much fun to go around in. Very nice place

Thank you for sharing your experience! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed the secluded and peaceful location, and that the boys had a successful fishing trip right from the start! It’s great that you had fun with the kayaks and canoes as well. We hope to welcome you back to this wonderful cabin soon!
This was our first attempt at a friend group vacation with children and this place made everything worthwhile! The canoes and kayaks were a HUGE hit with the kiddos and there was plenty of space for adults to hang out after the youngins went to bed. We will definitely be back!

Thank you for your feedback and for staying in a RedAwning property. We look forward to hosting you again.
Overall, it's not a bad place to stay. There are a few issues if you don't like goose poop, don't come here. The fact that they don't clean it up and don't give you a rake or a broom, you could clean up goose poop, it's everywhere.Air conditioners are inadequate for the amount of space. They cover, considering they know people are going to come in and out. Two of the beds are worn out.And have ruts in them making them very difficult to get a good night's sleep. But the inside of the house was clean and had plenty of other amenities. Like movies, games, kayaks, canoes. We had a great time despite the little setbacks.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your insights and are glad you enjoyed your time with the amenities provided. We will address the concerns about the goose droppings, air conditioning, and bed quality to enhance future stays. Your input is valuable in helping us improve the guest experience.
Great space to hang with friends. Kitchen upstairs and downstairs. Downstairs walks out to nicely shaded patio area right on the river. This is a damned area of the river, so the river is slow moving and there is lots of seaweed in the overflow areas. The kayaks are easy to paddle up stream and down though. Lots of cranes, ducks, and turtles to watch from shore. They had binoculars for us too! As soon as you pull in the driveway you feel secluded and private. No one across the shore and great star gazing! Easy checkin with key code provided prior to arrival!

Thank you for your fantastic review! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the spacious setup, shaded patio, and river views. It’s great to hear that the kayaks and binoculars added to your experience. We’re delighted you felt secluded and appreciated the easy check-in. We’d love to host you again!
Our stay was great. The space was perfect for the amount of people we had staying (3 kids, 6 adults). The split between up and down stairs was great for early risers vs those that slept in. The outside property was great for play, bon fires, kyaking/canoeing, the kids even swam. The river is great to go site seeing, the trails are great for walks. We ventured to Mackinaw Island and Cehboygan, loved the short distance from the house.
The house had just about anything you needed.
Only thing I would say was a small issue was there was a stale smell in the master room which made it a bit uncomfortable to sleep in but feel that can be because of the older cottage like feel. All other rooms and the home were comfortable and so great. Our family truly enjoyed our time here and would definitely be back.

We are kicking ourselves in the rear for only booking this place for 3 days. We visited Michigan for 11 and if we could go back and book this for the whole time we would. My husband fished from sun up to sun down - well, past sundown... it's so nice having the dock just feet from the home. We spotted a buck going for a little swim, tons of birds, and he caught some beautiful fish, (all released for the next visitors!). Can't forget the turtles too! It was great to watch the geese hang out on the island. The Blackstone grill was so fun to cook on, now I have to buy one. The layout of the house is fantastic, especially for large groups. It's basically two houses in one. There are two kitchens and two living rooms. Upstairs has killer views and downstairs does too! The house isn't fancy, but the beds are comfy and we felt at home. No wi-fi no problem, with the kayaks and canoes we never got bored. No neighbors either, you can only see one house pretty far away. We will be back, hopefully, you guys save some time for some of your earlier renters because we never want to stay anywhere else! Thank you for a wonderful time.
